"Better you than me," Ares admitted with a small chuckle. It seemed with the heat of the fight calming down, and with Penny doing what she seemed to do best, the dynamic between the two changed. Ares made a mental note that as long as he did not tell her how to do her job things would be fine. Granted, he expected them to clash over how he would do his job, or how to direct the teams he had been put in charge of. She seemed like the type who liked telling people what do even if it was not her place. "Take your time... 3 is getting the cams anyway."

It was hard for the others to work around Penny to help clear the shelves for her, and yet they seemed to be used to this. Another mental note was taken, he was going to have to get used to having her in the way most of the time. She was going to make his job of keeping her safe as difficult as possible. Ares sighed. This job was going to be a nightmare, and not because of the ghosts. He could handle the ghosts. Penny was going to be the handful.

Ares wished he knew why the runes were interesting. As far as he was concerned they were just runes. Sure history was cool, ancient languages were too, but Ares was not an archeologist. Ares knew his stuff, but his expertise was with the military. He was far from unintelligent, which was why he could appreciate the brains Penny seemed to have inside that pretty head of hers, but Ares was not "Dr. deWinter." That level of education and commitment to learning was not something Ares had inclination toward. Certain things were hobbies, and that was all. Antiques was just one hobby, and it had gotten him this job.

Ares paused on something she said though. His mind fixed on it.

"Come back for the walls later... you literally mean cutting out the walls don't you?"

Of course she did. Ares already knew the answer to the question the moment it left his mouth.

"I kinda did save your life a couple of times, but you're the one who stopped that thing, so you saved the rest of us.., let's call it even for now... DOCTOR deWiner."

Ares had to emphasize the doctor part. Naturally he preferred Penny. It was pretty name, and he liked to think he deserved the right to be on first name basis, which Penny had given him as well as a job. Needless to say, despite her snark, she was a decent person.

"We got the holographs... unless you want us to catalogue the rest of this, our job is done in this room."

Ares nodded as T3 seemed to be reporting to him directly now.

"What do you say Penny, we good here?"

Penny smirked a little, not even gracing Ares with a glance as she replied. 'Yes, it probably is better me than you, isn't it?' Once she had slid herself down from the shelves she ran her hands quickly over the black body armour covering her frame. A thin layer of dust flew up into the air and danced in mesmerising swirls, visible against the bright pools of light cast by the team. A soft puff of air followed, causing them to cut wildly through the stale air. 'It's a shame we have to leave all this here though. I would have loved to study the actual etchings further. I wonder how long it took him to do it all? How long did he slave away on each rune?' Her expression switched to the ponderous look she had gained when she got her first proper look of the walls. It was almost painful that she wouldn't be able to continue her work properly for the mean while. She made a mental note to apply to Central Command for permission to speed up the recovery missions.

Without even batting an eyelid, or shifting her gaze from the walls as the cams flashed with each picture taken. 'Of course I mean literally. Why else would I say that?' When he spoke, Penny turned her head quickly. It seemed her own whit was incredibly on point today too. 'I think that's the first smart thing you've said all day.'

As T3 spoke up Penny wafted her quickly, her way of dismissing him without even acknowledging that he was actually talking to Ares. 'Yes, the images will do for now. Just leave the rest of the stuff here, we'll collect it when we come back for the walls. I can translate them with what we have. Let's pack up and head out.'
