Description:

Designed as a heavy-infantry/anti-tank role, the weapon is capable of tremendously disabling or even destroying a specific part of a target, and has little chance of splash damage or collateral, making it efficient when accuracy is key. The weapon emits a heavy particle beam, and the resulting laser can melt through durasteel rather quickly, leaving a scorching roughly basketball-sized hole in an unshielded and exposed hull, and if put through a particular area, can decimate a vehicle.

However, it's not without's notable drawbacks. Due to the drawbacks of the laser, it must not only emit a targeting beam for up to five seconds that is visible, but it also two-three seconds to charge after emitting the targeting beam, leaving the operator in a precarious position if not covered or relatively out of the range of the vehicle. The beam also, due to it's nature, requires nearly of the laser to hit the target, so even a relatively small shield can deflect and almost dissipate the beam, making the weapon particularly ineffective other than mechanized infantry, tanks, and slow-moving targets, rather than ships, aircraft (unless the user is proficient in it's use and the aircraft is on a predictable and slow-moving path)

@[member="Doc"] I think you mean more than 600cm, which is 6 metres! :p

Overall, I think this is less an anti-tank weapon and more of a bunker or wall breaking weapon. Seeing how long it takes to line up, and how it must be accurate, this seems a much more suited weapon for cutting through immobile defences.

It's designed to go through engine blocks of tanks/treads/motors/whatever to stop the tanks. It could be used to go through walls and bunkers and whatnot, but the drawbacks of the weapon wouldn't really let you do any substantial damage to a building or encampment, unless your target was like, right behind it.
 
@[member="Doc"] You still need to change the range. I would suggest it would not be a long range however due to the fact that precise aiming for several seconds at a distant target with a laser is pretty difficult.
 
@[member="Doc"] I suggest that you have provision for a tripod. This weapon is extremely reliant on precise aiming, and since it doesn't seem to have a HUD or targeting system, getting a strong aim is vital.

I'd also drop the range down to 200m simply because of the difficulty of aiming and the dissipation of the attack over too much space.
