- Launcher:
- Judicite Composite Frame
- Crystalamnium Internal Sheathing
- Crystaplast Reactive Coating
- Insulating Liner: Durasilk Thermafoam

- Ammunition Type: Tethered chain munition with charged anchorballs and flechette pods
- Ammunition Capacity: Very Small (1-3 chainshots per launcher drum)
- Effective Range: Average (short-to-mid range use)
- Rate of Fire: Very Low
- Damage Output: Very High
- Recoil: High
- Seismic Anchorballs: Micro-seismic shockwave charges at both ends for shield gaps or structural rupture
- Reactive Plasma-Cryo Chain: Alternating .5s pulses to create thermal shock fracturing
- Spike-Flechette Pods: Auto-burst on impact with barbed, fragmentary, or EM payloads
- Microthrusters: Enable post-launch control, spin, or whip-like wraparound effects
- Launch Modes:
- “Shredspread” – Wide firing arc for crowd control
- “Ripper Loop” – Wraps chain around specific hull target
- “Deadspin” – Free-spin after anchor impact for maximum structural grinding
- Launcher Configurations:
- Modular design allowing for dorsal weapon mount or broadside repeater configuration
- Thermal and kinetic insulation via Gravmire Gel and Durasilk Thermafoam
- Reactive stabilization using Crystaplast and Crystalamnium sheathing
- Extreme Damage Potential: Multiple vectors of hull disruption (shock, temperature, piercing)
- Area Denial: Covers space corridors or hull sections with unpredictable arcs
- Electronic Warfare Support: EM flechettes scramble local sensors upon burst
- Unpredictable Movement: Flail-like motion makes defensive targeting difficult
- Short Range: Not viable outside of close proximity or short-range ambush
- Slow Reload: Each shot requires full chainspool rearming
- High Recoil: Requires reinforced launcher housing and gravitic stabilization
- Unpredictable Pathing: Risk of collateral or friendly damage if misfired
The Scourgechain is an ungodly union of chaos, flail mechanics, and thermal warfare—built not for elegance, but for devastation. Once deployed, its seismic anchorballs detonate near shielding or hull, creating space for the real pain: a reactive chain coursing with alternating cryogenic and electroplasma energy.
This alternating shock cycling—flash freezing and then superheating the same surface—causes thermal expansion and rapid contraction in hull materials, resulting in catastrophic fracturing. As the chain arcs outward or wraps like a whip, its embedded flechette pods burst on contact, showering the target in barbed, EM, or fragmentary spikes.
Fired from a specially insulated, modular launcher made of Judicite Composite, Durasilk Thermafoam, Gravmire Gel, and Crystalamnium sheathing, the system is built to endure its own recoil and thermal bloom. Crystaplast reactive coating helps deflect premature detonations or chain backlash.
Whether used for clearing fighter swarms, ripping open engine clusters, or denying corridor passage, the Scourgechain excels at turning space into a minefield of hurt. Launchers can be configured for dorsal or broadside deployment, giving naval architects freedom to mount these harbingers of havoc where they’ll hurt most.
Few weapons are as theatrical, or as terrifying, as the Scourgechain.
