Scientists, Unite! - Interest Check

Hello, people of all kinds, but especially you, scientists!

So recently, I started thinking: why don't we have a faction of scientists? I mean, it would definitely give them more to do maybe they could support the galaxy in a better way if they were united as a group?

It could be full of people of all fields: physicists, chemists, psychologists, lawyers, bioengineers, etc.

I don't have any name ideas for the faction, I have no concept, but that is exactly why I came here. I want to know what you think. Is it worth building upon the idea or should it be abandoned?

XD Not exactly, I think. I am not sure what a Mensa actually is, though.

Yes, flesh out the idea! A science faction is abit odd because science is such a broad term. I would be interested in what you have in mind.

The scientists would be like a dream team. Like a group of people who maybe all have degrees in different fields. Independently, they would be powerful only on their own field, but if they come together, they can be a lot more useful. It's a bit difficult to explain what I mean, but maybe the fleshed out idea will give you a better overview.

... You can do whatever you want to as long as it's for the good of the galaxy. If you want to make weapons for the good of the galaxy, you're free to do that.

But in the case of light-sided: I sense cures to the Gulag (am I spelling that right?) plague, machines that can turn water in to food, and machines that somehow manafacture galactic peace. (My point was, alot of interesting things are going to come from this)

Not sure how keen Saevio would be in getting involved in something like this, particularly if it's predominantly light sided, but it could be interesting. In any case, he'd probably be more along the lines of a consultant rather than a charter member, as it were. He has a some knowledge of such fields as geology, crystallography, and metallurgy as it relates to his bladesmithing profession, and I intend to continue developings those things for this character going forward, assuming the RP is there to facilitat it.

That's rather extreme, I would say. But I truly hope as soon as I get the overview done, everything will be less confusing to everybody, including myself.

My point is that "Good" is based on perception. Some think that Galaxy works best as a democracy, some people think the galaxy works the best when the smartest (wo)man is in charge of everything, some think the galaxy would be good without this, some think it would be better with it, etc etc.

I'm extremely intrigued on what you wish to do, and will definitely be keeping up with your work, perhaps joining later. But, at least in my opinion, a more concrete objective would help unify people better.

In any case I wish you and your faction the best, whether or not I decide to join. It's an excellent idea and I hope it'll produce some crazy things.
