Private Science is the Way

It's a peculiar moment. I honestly didn't expect to return to my old laboratory so soon. I had even hoped to create a new place instead somewhere that would allow me to build things aligned with my new values. Though, now that I'm here, I might as well take the opportunity to grab a few belongings. But what exactly am I doing? I've returned aboard the NZ Trident, a little marvel of cutting-edge technology, my luxury superyacht well, Nyva Shei's, technically. It is her primary vessel, after all.

Rummaging through the laboratory crates, I search for where I might have stored those things they call experiment reports. I pull the documents out and begin leafing through them. At least there's one advantage: no need to ask for permission. I'm home. I do whatever I want, wherever I want, whenever I want. No need to avoid the cameras either. A lot has happened since the last time.

It makes me sigh. I'm waiting for someone a member of the Jedi High Council. One Matsu Ike, Grand Master. I'm not sure what possessed me to invite her here. Some of the experiments were successful… others far less so. The Jedi would probably be horrified anyway. After all, this is my old Sith laboratory. And if I want to be completely transparent with them, then I have to explain what I used to work on, so they understand the kind of person I truly am.

Settling onto a couch in the common room, my feet resting on the table, I crack open a Corellian beer and make myself comfortable on Deck One. Accessible to everyone, the Jedi Master has already received authorization to land in the hangar without triggering the defense turrets. It would be a shame for the lab to go on alert before she even touches down. I did remember to disable the security systems.

"She shouldn't be much longer now…"

Chalacta had been interesting to meet the others and she had gone around a few times. The Gathering had showed her two padawans and they were both proving effective in their own ways but she traveled and the jedi continued where she went with the Silvers. She worked with her circles and councils as needed to continue to improve across the galaxies, deploying chapter houses of the order and their newest temple spires. It was an efficient way to travel and allow the jedi to touch places of the force and life that others had not. Her other works as the celestial forge continued it efforts across the galaxy but also in developing ships or means.

"Master." The padawan stood there as her orange-red robes gleamed. The fresh dusting of snow melting while her dark hair was braided behind her. Thick at the top and thinner the lower it went down her back. Her saber on her hip while she bowed. "Chiana." She offered her a small bow and smile. It was good to see her when she wasn't meditating in the snow but it had taught her endurance and temperature regulation. "We received the clearance codes for the Magda. She said she was already enroute and would meet you there." Matsu looked at the girl and raised an eyebrow as she kind of laughed a little with it. "Oh a race against my own ship."

She moved with a glide through the air as she was checking it out and her sens within the force was showing her where it was.. She had the location as well where Lyssara was and she had planned her trip there as she spoke placing one hand on the girls shoulder. "Thank you, I'll return soon enough just keep with your training." She said it while she was moving and turned back around as she spun in the air. her hands coming out to the side. "And lovely hair padawan." She said it getting a smile and nod as her hands grasped the force threads of the netherworld of the unbeing. Her movement taking her through a layer of the force weaving throughout the galaxy and she was on the world looking where she was supposed to meet.

The jedi grandmaster slid out of the force and the netherworld as she was in the hanger with a look around. Her senses in art of the small sensing and moving to each molecule with a small look. She allowed herself a moment but the needs to get through the hanger. "Pretty." She said it with a wave of her hand as she slid through the molecules with a look around so that she would be able to sense more of it.

Enjoying my Corellian ale, I jump as she appears right next to me, making me sigh. I wonder how she does it? I wasn't aware of this "gateway between worlds"; personally, I use the Night Portals to travel long distances, which works just as well. I straighten my outfit as she comments that it's nice. Wait—she came without a ship, without anything? Well then. I reactivate my defense systems; I thought she would arrive like everyone else, through the air, but apparently not. Since the Grand Master of the Order uses teleportation, I suppose I could abuse my portals more often... I'll have fewer scruples about using them in the future. I hold out a small bottle of beer to offer it to her.

"Beer?"

As I do so, I stand up with my own bottle and begin to walk through the laboratory. We are currently on Level 1 of the lab; it mostly contains large medical installations, experimental research on viruses, vaccines, bio-engineering, drugs, poisons—lots of poisons. I look for all sorts of "amusing" things regarding life and death; I have entire cabinets full of vials of every kind. I take the opportunity to grab one or two to bring with me—after all, nothing is stopping me from helping myself.

"Welcome to the Research and Development level. Here, I create everything and nothing: weapons, armor, biodiversity research, plants, poisons, and other festivities mostly drugs, I study their effects."

Continuing my tour, I arrive at a wall map of the lab. I point to where we are.

"We are here. The lab is broken down into three blocks. Level 1 is all the classic research. Level 2... that's anti-matter. I have advanced installations, ultra-modern particle accelerators; energy isn't really an issue here. Do you want to go down and see? And Level 3 contains the luxury living quarters for the employees and myself. I have my personal office down there."

Waiting to see what she decides, I let her explore the lab at her own pace. The experiments are more Sith-oriented than Jedi, but then again, I have nothing to hide. I fully own my research; it is a part of me. It was here that I learned to destroy life and corrupt minds.

"The Diarchy faction, give me this place, that's what i am before joining the praxeum jedi."

The moment she was there and being offered a think the jedi masters eyes shifted... in interest as she took the drink and held it for a moment. She had the bottle with a nod as she was letting her focus go across it and the alcohol shifted... altered at the molecular level within. Slowly shifting into a fruit juice that she was able to drink as she listened and glided through just barely off of the floor. With a small look around as she was directing her attention. "Interesting." There was a smile on her face though, this woman had been on Ilum and had been able to teleport which had made her more interesting then some. Few used such things and she looked at her. "I have no idea what a Diarchy is?" SHe said it but was looking around and down. "But yes show me everything and we can see what we can do."

"The Diarchy is like a large family. We do not follow the traditional ways. My master, Diarch Rellik, taught me many things, and I am deeply grateful to him for that. Besides, Diarch Reign allowed me to leave of my own free will, so I am not a fugitive."

How could I explain its nature to her? The values of the Diarchy are very different from those of either the Sith Order or the Jedi Order. I encountered Jedi within the Diarchy itself, because it welcomes everyone with open arms, as long as they are willing to embrace our doctrine. Among us, there is no discrimination. We help those in need, and we destroy our enemies, nothing more, nothing less. We survive. That is the Diarchy.

"The Diarchy is a Force-neutral faction. Its primary goal was to destroy both doctrines, Sith and Jedi alike… It sought to restore a form of neutral balance. Unfortunately, the faction is Fallen into the void recently, so i lost my last home on bastion. Here we are on Taspir III."

Walking into the turbolift and arriving on Level -2, I look toward the particle accelerator. Here we are, in the heart of the laboratory complex. There is also a long containment tube stretching far into the distance, along with antimatter storage facilities. This is where I produce all kinds of things: bombs, a prototype starship powered by antimatter… I search, and I discover many things.

"The antimatter reactor core is the very foundation of the laboratory. This is where I conduct my most critical experiments. Do you have any questions?"

She listened about the group with a nod of her head. The destroy both sides of the conflict got a small eyebrow raise from her but she wasn't going to argue with it much. There was plenty who would think about that. if given the chance.. less who understood the implications but she was more curious. The lab sounded skilled and mention of Bastion had her attention to the temple they had built there on the world. A means for the Imperial knights who worked with many of the jedi to get protection and more training. "It is an impressive lab, what kind of experiments have you been working on?" She was curious in many things here but that was an important aspect of it. "I am always curious to see where some are advancing their understanding. Helps see where to improve my own."

As I looked over the antimatter facilities around me, I smiled for a moment. The possibilities were endless with toys like these in my possession: energy, shields, weapons of destruction. When I said I wanted to destroy both sides, the Diarchy was serious, and its plan was to declare war on everyone sooner or later, once we were ready.

"At the moment, I own a ship another vessel, the Ragnarok equipped with two antimatter torpedoes. I'll let you imagine the rest… Personally, I'm not especially evil. Well, from the Jedi point of view, perhaps, but what I mean is: I don't kill for pleasure. I kill because it's necessary. Either we are killed, or we are the ones who kill. We can just as easily help entire systems with our research and supplies. It all depends on who asks, and how."

That was the part I appreciated the most: mutual aid, sharing, meetings, galas all that slice-of-life atmosphere. I enjoyed taking part in it; it felt like home, a place where I truly belonged.

I then headed down to level minus three of the laboratory and settled onto an ultra-comfortable, outrageously expensive Corellian leather sofa.

"I also worked on and discovered the Philosopher's Stone. I aspire to transcend the laws of modern physics, you know?"

Oh. Herr thought was there as she listened with interest. Mostly hovering there and the woman spoke about the laws of physics. "There are laws of physics? They never mentioned these o me." She tapped her chin while there for a moment though while she moved and was mentally mapping things. THe molecules vibrating around her before she spoke again with a wider grin on her face. "Though anti-matter torpedo's are a little extreme in most cases. Helping or harming is not exactly a great attitude to have all of the time and risks a lot more people uniting against you." She looked though. "ANd you never quite know who else does the same rresearch or has the same notions. Makes a mess of the univerrse."

"Anyway, even if people haven't done anything, they'll still come and bother you over the little you have. So you might as well have the biggest one, so they leave you alone."

At least, that's my philosophy in life, and it's what explains my weapons mostly for deterrence. That's why I never use Ragnarok. It's a deterrent weapon, because as she said, if you use it too much, you'll turn everyone against you, and she's right about that. Caution with weapons like that is essential. That's also why I'm the only one who uses and handles it, with the respect it deserves. I choose its targets and impact points very carefully.

"My goal in this galaxy is to find a place where I'm safe, where I'm no longer forced to fight, but the fact is that people are always jealous of what others have. I'm forced to defend this house, even if it risks creating a second Diarchy."

When she talks about the laws of antimatter and physics, it brings me to another experiment I'm currently calculating measurements for. Showing him a blackboard covered in complex equations and calculations.

"This is my latest experiment. I start from the idea that the world as we know it is positive, and that there could exist a negative world, with negative atoms, negative values, and so on. The inverted world, as I call it. Time there would contract instead of flowing normally. According to my calculations, the existence of such a place is entirely possible antimatter itself already exists but the problem is how to access it... I'm currently building a ghost ship for that purpose."

Tapping my chalk against the blackboard.

She was listening and looking at it with a nod of her head. She had felt the same way it was why she had lifted the Silver Rest from Kashyyyk and taken it into space or constructed several major installations allowing her and her researchers to work on many things. "Impressive." She said it with a smile on her face though as she looked over the blackboard. Now that was old school and she grinned to herself. "Oh it exists, several... and many more though not all of them are as interesting as one might think. There is one with shellfish, I got tired of that one quickly." She said it but was moving around. "Your thought is not terrible but it is requiring a little more refinement. The universal constant that weaves through everything is the force which alters many physics that are presented. Force planes allow for a lot more to be seen and found.. but beyond them is areas where there is pure chaos and bliss and more."

I remained silent for a few moments, studying the equations written across the blackboard before slowly setting the piece of chalk down. Matsu's words still echoed in my mind. The Force as a universal constant... that was precisely the variable my calculations had always deliberately excluded, simply because it escaped conventional mathematics.

A faint smile crossed my face.

"That's exactly why I wanted to show you all of this. The Sith speak of domination, the Jedi of harmony... but I seek only to understand. If the Force truly permeates every particle in existence, then it must also flow through antimatter, inverted dimensions, and all those worlds you seem to traverse so effortlessly."

I raised my gaze toward the immense antimatter containment chambers.

"My entire life, I've tried to prove that science can explain miracles. Yet the further I go, the more I realize that miracles simply obey laws we have yet to discover."

Taking a few slow steps, I stopped before the panoramic viewport overlooking the entire facility.

"You see this installation? Most would call it a weapon. To me, it is a doorway. A doorway to something beyond the endless conflict between Jedi and Sith. If I could prove the existence of a mirrored universe, then our understanding of life, death, and even the Force itself would be forever changed."

Finally, I turned toward the Grand Master.

"You spoke of the planes of the Force, of chaos, bliss, and realities beyond comprehension. Would you help me chart these phenomena? Not through doctrine... but through observation. If the Force is truly the constant that binds every reality together, then it should leave measurable traces. And if we can measure it... then perhaps we can finally build a bridge between science and spirituality."

A quiet laugh escaped me.

"After all, that would be a far safer experiment than launching a ghost ship into an antimatter universe... though I admit that was also my backup plan. And you know, i'm capable to do this, by my own way, you can teleport under the force, i can use night sister portal, for same result, how did you do that's ? Can you learn me this ?"

She was looking at more of it and listening to the woman with a nod. "I could, traversing with the force is easier then many suspect. The basic technique was taught in temples regularly and a lot of groups used it." She said it and teleporting was one of the strangest cause it was a commonly used rare ability that even master like Anya Kuro knew. It allowed much but going further with it. "But taking the technique further allows one to preceive and go to the netherworld of unbeing where you are able to travel along the threads of the force that weaves throughout the universes. Connecting everything and it is up to you to train yourself to navigate it."
