Scholarly Warr- Padawan

Haytham Kaze

Judge, Judgury, Judgecutioner
Haytham shrugged. "Well, you didn't really kill an actual creature that benefits an ecosystem. Terentateks are just tools of destruction." Slipping both of his hands into the pockets of his robes, he looked around their area. Huh, they had moved quite far from their starting location.

Obviously he wasn't a Master or anything, but this Praelior didn't particularly sound like they had a good work ethic. Leaving their apprentices to learn to their own devices? If he was correct in his thinking, the One Sith treated their organization as a gigantic Brotherhood and protected each other, even if they had differences. Was [member="Taeli Raaf"]'s master scared of being overthrown by her apprentices? It didn't matter in the end, he didn't know her, and he doubted he ever would. No harm, no foul. That works here, right?

A single hand rose up to brush a single dark lock of hair out of his eyes.

"I'd say these guys are just riding the backs of history, but the past few years would prove me wrong." Huh. "How do you think we can beat the One Sith and their friends?"

[member="Haytham Kaze"]

"Oh, you could say they are riding the back of history, but then so are we," she said, looking out over the grounds. "Every person, every organization, is just riding on the back of its predecessors. History shows that eventually events repeat, and the Sith are especial;y vulnerable to this. Backstabbing and betrayal are their way, and as much as the One Sith like to project a unified front, slowly but surely they are going to start to splinter and implode. It is the Sith way to not want to share power eventually, and it already started in a way. A group of Yuuzhan Vong fled Sith-controlled space and are actively against them."

Turning back to the Padawan, she gave a small smile.

"Several Sith, myself included, have left them and are working to try and stop them. I just chose to come and support the Jedi Order," she said. "The Republic needs a victory though, something major, to show that they can actually defeat the Sith militarily. Otherwise, the One Sith will continue to stay as they are and not fracture. Morale is key, and if they start losing battles, morale will collapse."

"I don't think we're riding the back of history all that much." He said with a shrug. There were things that this Jedi Order did that many others had not. "Our Jedi Order has had Votes of No Confidence... The Grandmaster was removed from power, and replaced because his decisions weren't great, and his inaction was forcing the Jedi Order's reputation into a decay." Haytham shrugged, that's how he had viewed it. It had happened when he had first joined the Jedi Order.

"I mean, at least in the past we actually won sometimes." She was right, the Galactic Republic did need a victory and soon. Many Jedi Masters were leaving the faction they had grown up with and for what?Because they didn't have faith in the leadership, they were leaving because they couldn't continue fighting a losing war. He couldn't understand why they had made vows, but were too scared to uphold them to the end. It was... Cowardice.

He shook his head. "We can't wait for the Sith to destroy themselves. Just over six years when a Jedi Master revealed herself to be the apprentice of the Dark Lord of the Sith. And yet, we've had no victories." He shrugged.

"In the past, there weren't this many Jedi Organizations throughout the Galaxy. If we all just banned together underneath one banner, one or two Jedi Master from every Order as leaders on a Council, we could destroy the One Sith once and for all. But no one will bring up the subject... They all have too much pride."

We started losing battles the moment we lost Coruscant.

"Pride is always an issue, and even Jedi aren't immune to it," Taeli said. "You are correct though that if the Jedi of the galaxy could combine their forces efficiently, the Sith would have a far greater challenge arrayed against them."

She had thought about this as well, and she was sure that at least some bridges had been laid for at least some co-operation between the various Orders, but it had resulted in only minor things or individual missions. Things needed to keep changing though.

"Maybe you'll be the voice that rallies such a cause," Taeli replied with a small smile. "Such things can start at any level, and eventually even leaders must pay attention to them."

Haytham shrugged.

His hands slipped into his pockets slowly. His gaze focused on the plant life around them. It was interesting to him. There were people who would agree with him, but none would bother stepping up because they thought it'd make little difference in the war effort he was certain...

"I'd suggest you do it in my name since I'm only a Padawan and who would listen to me?" It'd take a lot of convincing from a Padawan to Masters to band together, especially since there were reasons for them to have originally left... "But you only recently turned from the Dark Side, even if sincere they'd probably fall on deaf ears to a large degree." His voice had no tone or any emotion. He was neutral on the whole matter, he didn't really know what to think of [member="Taeli Raaf"], she was only a source of information for the other side of the Force at this point.

"But I'll start my movement as soon as I become Knighted." Pocketed arms shrugged. "I'll need your support, I have to start from somewhere of course." He blinked. It sounded weird to say something like that. It almost sounded as if he would've been planning to overthrow the Jedi Council, but in truth, he didn't care about deciding how the whole of the Order should act. The fact that he was even contemplating forming a movement was a huge change of personality for the Padawan.

"Well, I can at least start the ball rolling," Taeli said, looking at the Padawan. She could see him growing into a leader of the Jedi at some point in his life, he had the makings of a good leader. "I'll speak with my sister and see if we can't at least call a conclave of the different Jedi to meet and discuss issues that have separated the orders."

It would be a start, and if necessary, Taeli would start it herself if need be. Erilnar was lovely this time of year, and was quite tranquil and out of the way from prying eyes.

"There would be no point in doing so. My own Master had tried to do so many times. The Jedi Coalitions gather together and then with inactivity and lack of any joint missions between the Orders and learning of each other, it slowly falls apart. Not from hostility or dislike, just simply from the lack of action and a hardened purpose." His eyes glinted and when he turned away to look up into the sky, it almost looked as if he were older than he actually was. Although he was grown, he still had some childish personality traits and not to mention his hair was slightly messy....

But then he turned back and the moment was gone.

"Two times it's been done, I think." He scratched the back of his head. It was a blank point in his memory which was unusual. He didn't really know whether there had been two coalitions, but if one were to consider the Jedi Academy as a 'Coalition' of all the Jedi Orders, then it was certainly two or more. "I'll handle it myself." His teeth clenched, he already knew how he was going to do this, but he knew he was going to have to go find a certain person first.

"Well I'll help you where you might need help or guidance," Taeli said with a smile. "I want to see a unified front against my former colleagues . . . they need to be stopped at this rate."

It would require more than the Jedi though, it would require a combined front of many powers and organizations to fight and defeat the One Sith Empire. She had a realistic view of what it would take, and she knew a few weaknesses that were starting to emerge. They had lost several of the companies and groups that produced things for the Sith, the biggest being the fragmenting and move of Titan Industries to Techno Union space.

It would take time, but events were slowly starting to move that way. Telti had not been a resounding victory for the One Sith, it had been a very close fight where once upon a time such a thing had not been a problem. If the Republic could capitalize on the slowing momentum, they might have a chance to turn this war around.
