Scherezade Glitter Bullets

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Home made by Scherezade deWinter
  • Model: Bullets made for the Dissuader KD-30 Slugthrower Pistol
  • Affiliation: Scherezade deWinter
  • Modularity: No
  • Material: SGB are made using the same acid resistant adhesive used for the Dissuader KD-30 Slugthrower Pistol (which itself uses slugs that contain borless acid, as per canon). The adhesive is used for the encasing of the bullets, and as a protection layer for the glitter itself.
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Scherezade makes these on her own.
  • Encasing for both the bullets and the glitter is made of durasteel.
Strengths
  • You can never fully get rid of glitter. Everyone knows this. It's an indisputable fact. Glitter will live longer than cockroaches.
  • If even one of a few specs of the glitter are not removed from the armor, it will damage the armor over time.
  • If the glitter is not removed at all, it will eat through the armor quickly.
  • If the glitter touches non-armor fabric or skin, the damage is near instant.
Weaknesses
  • Glitter goes everywhere. A gust of wind is enough to set anyone in the vicinity in danger, whether they are foes or friends.
  • Because of the acid coating the glitter, it's not as strong as it would be in the original bullets. It still eats through flesh, bones, and armor, but at a much reduced rate; it's unlikely to cause instant damage unless it touches skin, but it can cause lasting and lingering damage on armor if it's not removed.
  • These bullets take Scherezade an incredibly long time to make, so her inventory of them is small; rarely more than 10 bullets at a time.
  • Durasteel can corrode and requires maintenance.
DESCRIPTION
Scherezade saw Katrine Van-Derveld use the pistol in the field, and liked the idea of having a slugthrower, as her own training both with and without the Force is going slower than both she and her writer would like. Armed with the idea that she needs such a weapon as well with her massive and deep racist hatred for anything Mandalorian, her mind began to reel around ideas that would help her destroy them. She spent nights looking up for things that could get through Mandalorian armor and realized that acid would probably work. That was when she realized that the slugthrower she was looking at would probably do the job on its own and without her interference, but she felt the need to go deeper.

Studying the bullets and how they worked, Scherezade decided that she wanted something that was more dangerous. Something that spread out. Something that was... Glitter. Her love for things that are pink finished the thoughts off as she decided to make the same bullets, but filled with glitter that gets everywhere. Her logic behind it being that glitter was hard to get rid of so that even if it didn't kill any Mandalorians off on the field, it would weaken their armor in the battles to come. And that made it perfect.

Hello, I will be judging your submission today. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Range is smaller than the canon bullets - 70 meters instead of 100.
What about this round makes it have a smaller range? Range is usually determined by the weapon firing the round.

As you're submitting ammunition and not material (which would be something like a fabric or metal), you should be using either the basic template or the ranged weapon template.

Before I approve this, I'm going to ask whether or not the intention is for the acid in this bullet to actually eat through beskar and other extremely durable metals - as the canon article erroneously states that it "would eat through any armor", whereas the source for this statement, and indeed the source for the KD-30 Slugthrower pistol itself, is an RPG sourcebook for a D&D style Star Wars RPG that is describing its damage in the context of the armors that the sourcebook provides, none of which offer any amount of resistance to the degree of beskar, phrik, and other restricted materials, with the source itself not even stating that it eats through all of these armors, but rather lowers their Damage Reduction ratings in-game.

The way the submission is currently worded seems to suggest the rounds are intended to weaken armor, which is fine, but it also seems to imply that the canon KD-30 would be capable of outright eating through things like beskar with ease, which is false.

The wookieepedia article for the KD-30 Slugthrower pistol making the claim that the acid "would eat through any armor that it struck".

The actual source for the KD-30 Slugthrower pistol (D20 - Star Wars: Arms & Equipment Guide), stating information that does not imply the same level of damage as the article states - and is also referring to the armor in the RPG sourcebook, none of which are constructed of Mandalorian Iron/beskar.

My aim was for the glitter to eat through beskar armor if not removed, but that if even a few pieces of glitter remain on the armor and are not removed in time, it would weaken the armor (rather than destroy it, but destroying it would be easier if the damage went unnoticed).

In case of it not being removed, the glitter should eat through the armor within about half an hour.

Against skin/cloth, the damage should be instant or near instant.

Should I revise/make changes before adding it into the sub?

An over time, vaguely worded, damage to armor is fine. I just wanted to make sure there was no misunderstanding here regarding both this and the canon weapon's abilities prior to approval.

If you'd like, simply add "over time", or something similar, to the portions of the special features & strengths/weaknesses where you mention this being able to damage armors.

No problem :)

Broke it down into three parts as per your comments and to make it easier to understand:

  • If even one of a few specs of the glitter are not removed from the armor, it will damage the armor over time.
  • If the glitter is not removed at all, it will eat through the armor quickly.
  • If the glitter touches non-armor fabric or skin, the damage is near instant.
