MERCY

EMPRESS | WARLORD | STAR-ARM

Location: Throneworld | Direct Tags: Astraea Vega Astraea Vega

She was frequenting one of the gardens of Throneworld. Lush, beautiful, with a stream and a waterfall. While she lounged on a nearby cushioned bench with a datapad in her lap. This is where the guard would find her with the missive. Usually they knew better than to disturb her in these serene gardens. But it was different when a high-ranking guest was arriving in a surprising turn, it was even more different when said guest came from Hapes.

Mercy had not received a guest from Hapes since Aurellia came to visit her here. Since then Mercy had turned her back to that region. It was too complicated, too messy and whenever something was too messy, the best course of action in Mercy's book was to simply ignore its existence.

But she was curious, too curious for her own good, and allowed the guard to bring the guest forward.

Mercy was a controversial figure within the Hapes Cluster.

She had murdered the previous Queen Mother with a rock in hand. Destroying a figure that had tried to break female supremacy within the Consortium, a feat that none of the more traditionalist Duch'a had been able to accomplish. Not with their plotting nor with their maneuvering. But Mercy was an outsider, which complicated the matters thoroughly. Her serving grace was that she was a woman. A female Warlord who reached out across the stars to do as she pleased.

So it was all a mixed bag: they disliked her foreignness, but they approved of what she was... what she represented. A woman who held power outside the Cluster and did so without excuses or explanation.

It helped that Aurellia had given her a Duch'a title, that allowed them to pretend Mercy was one of them.

Mercy looked up when the Duch'a stepped up towards her. She shifted lazily, one leg lounging off of the edge, as she looked at her.

"Astraea of House Vega, I am told. You are far away from home."

Astraea

TAG: Mercy Mercy

The journey had been a long one, and throughout the entirety of it Astraea had questioned herself more than once. There had been more than one voice advising her against this trip, against the request of this meeting. Voices that, in any other circumstance she would have agreed with and heeded. But the circumstances being what they were, Astrea had not listened, instead opting to listen to her gut instinct and make this voyage happen. Her instinct did nothing to quell the nagging voices in the back of her head, telling her again and again that she was foolish for this.

An outsider. A warlord. A Queen killer.

Was it foolish to reach out to such a person? Perhaps so. In all honesty, it was pure lunacy, but Astraea had not gotten to where she was today by playing things safely or shying away from risks.

Which soon became irrelevant anyhow as they had arrived and she was ushered from the cruiser and off toward some of the most lavish and beautiful gardens she had ever seen. It was enough to keep her looking around even as she was brought straight to the woman in question. It wasn't until she had been spoken to, addressed, that Astraea's focus snapped forward. Thankfully her posture was always on par, which helped to make it seem that she had merely been curious rather than lost in the greenery all around her.

"I am," she agreed with a single nod of her head. "And for good reason." Astri only stepped so close before falling still and clasping her hands in front of herself. In that moment she did not say what that reason was, but they would get to it quickly she was sure. For now, she let the open statement linger between them.
