- Power Output: The sheer energy output from the SC-1a Decimation's enhancements makes it an unstable weapon at risk of shorting out or even bursting apart in its wielder's hands. This makes it a somewhat underused weapon in the Shades, although it still remains a favored one among the braver members of the organization who care little about their personal safety.
- Size and Weight: With the number of attachments and internal components required to make the weapon work as devastating as it does, the SC-1a Decimation was made incredibly large and became incredibly heavy. This makes it difficult to carry on longer treks for many in the Shades, only adding to its relative disuse.
- Low Ammunition: Sacrificing ammunition count for one-shot kill capabilities, the SC-1a Decimation lacks the capacity of its many counterparts, forcing its users to pick their shots and avoid wanton firing.
