SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Modular Design - SB-1 Battle Droids can be modified for a variety of specialized roles when required. As well as serving as frontline infantry, they can be programmed and outfitted to serve as snipers, heavy weapons specialists and even pilots and ship crew. Whatever roles might be required enmasse by their Sith masters.
STRENGTHS
  • Mass Produceable - The SB-1 is designed to be produced enmasse, with simple to acquire materials and parts, meaning it can be easily built in vast numbers in a relatively short amount of time with the right production facilities.

WEAKNESSES
  • Mass Produced - Due to their relatively simple design, the SB-1s, like their original B1 predecessors, arn't exactly the most durable battle droids. While they can easily be repaired post battle, they could not be considered an elite unit, and are only comparable to a standard soldier, at best.
  • Quirky - Like the B1 Battle Droid, SB-1s have a tendancy to talk a lot as a way of processing dataload. As such, they tend to inadvertantly develop quirky personalities, which may lead to the occasional, if comedic, mishap now and again.
DESCRIPTION
Built to vastly increase the numerical strength of the Sith's military forces after the collapse of the larger Sith Empire, the SB-1 Battle Droids were built as a successor to the B1-series Battle Droid previously used by the Trade Federation and Confederacy of Independent Systems. Updated with modern day technological advancements, the SB-1 Battle Droid was designed by Saryn Fitz-Kierke personally to serve adequately as the new face of the Sith Imperial Military due to the lack of organic, none-strandcast recruits due to the loss of the Sith Empire's once vast territories and potential recruitment worlds.

Standard SB-1 Battle Droid units are painted in black and red instead of the usual pale brown of the old B1 model, marking them clearly as foot soldiers of the Sith, though otherwise their outward design remains largely similar. They also lack the weighty backpacks present on the older model, an improvement meant to given them extra versatility as that space can now be used for other purposes.
