STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Force user - While still learning, she is a potent force user and can utilise these powers to her benefit.
Eyesight - Her dominant Keshian genetics gives her excellent vision through multiple wavelengths of light.
Zanshi heritage - Her grandmother handed down some tricks, which while diluted give her partial benefits of the Zanshi species such as accelerating her healing factors and granting her enhanced reaction times and strength. Allowing her emotions can also endure a mild form of the red eye, but her Jedi training allowed her to put that curse to bed unless desperation kicks in.
Good Fighter - With fast reflexes and specialised in defensive lightsaber forms, she is capable of holding her own against more experienced fighters, although her lack of experience currently means she is mostly delaying the inevitable.
It burns – Her Zanshi grandmother handed her a blessing but also a curse, while not injured and put in danger from light spells, spells such as force light and even force healing do cause her some pain when used on her.
Walking the line - The Zanshi blood gives her greater benefits the deeper she allows her emotions to lead her. It is a temptation she must avoid in order to prevent her fall. Her masters have steered her toward Orron and Soresu to help manage this, but she wishes one day to learn niiman.
Sheltered life - Living her entire life in the jedi temple has led her to be a little sheltered and most of her worldly knowledge comes from books and lectures.
APPEARANCE: A teenage girl with dark hair and light olive coloured skin and rose gold coloured eyes. She is a low average in height but is very athletic due to her Jedi training regime. Casually she prefers a leather jacket, and leather trousers or often hot pants over leggings.
She wields a blue lightsaber and typically fights in yellow coloured light armour and uses a light buckler shield as part of her Orron form.
BIOGRAPHY:
Sayuri's Story begins with her Keshian Grandfather, a man whose only crime was falling in love with a sithspawn woman. But this part story had a happy ending and they had two beautiful children, including the Father of Sayuri, who married another Keshian woman resulting in three children, of which Sayuri was the youngest. The Family had hoped that the sithspawn genetics would stay dormant until the point it had been bred back out of the Keshian line but it was not to be and during routine blood work it was found that the baby girl had significant midichlorian levels and several markers for future Zanshi behavioural traits.
They did not want her to suffer for her genetics, so the decision was made to contact the Jedi Order and have the girl taken for training. Outwardly she was just a normal Keshian girl and they wanted her to learn control for the Jedi to ensure her future safety.
The Jedi accepted her and took her to Coruscant for training. She was a quick learner but in her very early days several dramatic emotional events did make her tutors doubt whether she could be safely trained. By eight years old however, these events were limited to no more than the average childhood outburst that could be tolerated and dealt with in the normal manner. The decision was made for her to initially focus on Soresu for her blade, inward looking and defensive, it seemed it would lead to less risk of imbalance and Sayuri enjoyed this form. One day though, during independent study of foreign jedi nations, she came across the Orron style in use by the followers of a master known as Grayson. The use of sword and shield appealed to her and a tutor was found who poured his knowledge into her, quickly becoming her preferred style.
Sayuri has spent most of her life in the Jedi temple and is an ardent follower of the jedi code, her Zanshi heritage is no secret but her tutors are happy that she has this under control with only minor outbursts of emotion reported in the temple or on the field with other learners.
