STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Tiny Terrors: These miniscule fighters can be surprisingly difficult to bring down, owing to their miniscule size and startling agility.
  • All-Terrain: Like the larger Lycaon-Class, the Sarcophagus can operate in atmosphere, void, or liquid as needed, as well as fold into a bipedal walking configuration.
WEAKNESSES
  • Bee Sting: The Sarcophagus mounts no heavy missiles or anything more destructive, and thus must rely solely on its phosphor projectors and blaster cannons.
DESCRIPTION

A tiny, cheap droid starfighter, the Sarcophagus is designed to utilize sheer weight of numbers over all else.

No more than a couple of meters across, the Sarcophagus is not much larger than a typical humanoid at full height. These fighters are deployed in enormous quantities, and even a single one can be deadly.

The Sarcophagus mounts surprisingly dense protection for a swarm fighter, as each and every one mounts a single thermal shielding layer. This is sufficient to turn away even direct flak fire, giving the fighter significant staying power.

This is compounded further by the fighter's incredibly compact design and exceptional movement characteristics. The Sarcophagus can perform admirable feats of piloting skill in pursuit of its prey, some of which are not feasibly repeatable by organics.

Aside from its turn-on-a-dime maneuverability and vision-blurring speed, the Sarcophagus' only other especially noteworthy trait is its ability to fold into a peculiar bipedal walking configuration. In this state, it is small enough to walk around in most shipboard hallways, as well as utilize most forms of entrance and exit intended for organics.

Occasionally, this results in these devious little droids zipping through hull breaches in enemy vessels to wreak havoc on the crew inside. While their defenses are excellent on a starship scale, they are almost entirely proof against small arms fire.

Of course, this small size and maneuverability prevent the Sarcophagus from carrying much firepower. It can easily threaten other strike craft, maybe even capital ships in large numbers, but it cannot at all compare to the firepower of a full-sized starfighter. Nonetheless, the addition of Aftershock trajectory computing software renders them very accurate with their light weaponry, and from time to time they prove very skilled at targeting exposed weak points on enemy vessels.
