Tattooine - Entering the System

The freighter they were flying through the dangers of hyperspace lurched from it. By no definition of the word was this ship to ever have been included in a sentence with the word best complimenting it. Still it was all that was available on short notice. One must take what one can given no other options. "Alright guys, we're mostly there. Just need landing clearance". Vix toggled on the comms and began landing prep. She was a great pilot for being so young, but the skill comes along with a love of this kind of machinery. If you fix it, you learn to fly it.

@Drake Blackwood @Antares Windu

Well this was his first mission as a Jedi Knight. AND as a Jedi in general. But the two padawans didn't know that. It was going to be quite exciting today. Antares's face betrayed none of his emotions, actually both of the padawans would find it a little difficult to sense the Knight Antares Windu through the Force. He had been trained by his Master as to how to make his presence smaller, and he had been practicing. A lot since that day on Dxun. And here he was, concealing his presence on a mission with two other Padawans. You never knew what you'd find.

"Do not prolong it." Were his only orders and he turned on his heels to go and prepare himself. He didn't actually need to prepare himself. He bore his black jedi robes that trailed just beneath his knees. He bore his lightsaber within his sleeve, concealed from eyesight and another lightsaber upon his belt. Within his robes, also out of sight unless he moved his outer robes to reveal it. He just didn't enjoy standing around in a room. Especially in space.

Drake scratched his arm. He'd opted to wear the lighter, Jedi robes he'd been given. Normally, he would've worn something he felt more comfortable in, the robes always made him itchy, but most of his other clothes could be perceived as too hot for Tattooine. The Padawan's arm moved back to the wall, where he'd been using it to prop himself up, the other hand moving to rest on the hilt of his lightsaber. Drake watched as Antares moved from the room. The Jedi Knight hadn't said much, and Drake found it difficult to sense him through the Force, something Drake was usually fairly good at. Vexander, Drake's teacher was generally the stoic, quiet type as well. Certainly not as much as Windu, but...

Drake switched his eyes to Vix, the Padawan piloting the ship, if you could call it that. She looked to be about his age. She, Drake could sense through the Force. If he'd seen right when they first met, she had two different colored eyes. He hadn't gotten a chance to look again. He ruffled his own hair, and started to move away, on his way to exit the ship once they landed.

The Jedi Knight stood at the top of the ramp. He was waiting for it to open and he was in deep thought when he heard one of the Padawans coming along. His eyes opened and he glanced to the side to look at Padawan Blackwood. "Padawan Blackwood." He greeted with an inclination of his head. "You understand what this mission entails of course?" He knew he did, but awkward silences were not things that Antares Windu enjoyed. Especially with someone who was a Padawan. He had been a Padawan himself only a little while ago. If they had met earlier, it was possible they could have been friends.

Though he continued on speaking besides that, "I trust you understand to not be hostile and to follow the Jedi Way when in contact with the locals?" He said when they glided into the atmosphere. He would trust that the female Padawan knew what she was doing. He hadn't flown his own ship in a while, what could he do with a transport?

"I will do my best, yet I am not afraid to act in self defense. My understanding is that we're to locate some Jawas, and buy a droid...anything particular about it?" Drake moved to stand next to the Jedi Knight, waiting for the ramp to open. He crossed his arms, his legs at shoulder length. Drake arched a single eyebrow following his question. If there was something important about this droid, Drake wanted to know. Based on Antareses tone, Drake wasn't sure if the Jedi would tell him if there was. Drake scratched his ear, then his arm. He was to fidgety. Normally, it wasn't too bad, but being on a mission always got him wired. He took a deep breath, focusing on the air moving in and out of his lungs. Out of kindness, Drake didn't breath too loud so as not to annoy Antares. "Might seek out a droid for myself..." The sentence was muttered, with a rather joking tone on it. The Padawan had almost no use for a droid.

"Ayy ayy mon capitain". Vix focused on getting a docking bay and permission to land at Mos Eisley Spaceport. A little cajoling and banter and she secured the requests. Tattooine was a busier place with the new trade route established, but it was still backwater in its ways. Well, back-sand in this case. And as it had been said, and nearly holds true after hundreds of years.'You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy'. Save maybe places like Nar Shaddaa. Vix cut off the direct comms for a moment and hollered back to the other two. "Alright, we'll be landing in just a few minutes". The freighters nose angled down and the engines put some speed on. Time to head planet side.

Antares's response was to shake his head. "The mission is what you have been told." He said straight-faced, though, those who knew him would see it as a joke. "Do what is required." He said softly. That was all that would need to be done. There would be no deviations from the plan unless they were absolutely necessary. He heard the underlying words of the Padawan though he said nothing. If he wasn't going to speak louder he would get no response.

"Waste no time Padawan Vix." He said loud enough for her to hear before he composed himself mentally. He could only hope that the mission would go as planned when they landed.

Drake looked to Antares, and slightly nodded. He went back to crossing his arms again while they waited for the ship to land. Drake had never been to Tattooine before, and he rather looked forward to it. For a second, Drake wondered how they were supposed to get a droid. Yet, he brushed it off. More than likely, the Jedi Knight next to him had been given something to make sure they received a droid. Credits, or something to trade with the Jawas. If Jawas did that...

His hand came out of his robes with several pouches of what one could suspect as being credit chits. He tossed one of the pouches to the Jedi Padawan. "If something were to happen to me or the other Padawan, the mission must be completed." He said, and for the first time since he had met the Padawan he smiled genuinely to the Padawan. Antares didn't mean to die, he never did, and the day he was ready to die, he would die. He would force it to happen, if he could. "I will make sure everything is fine in the cockpit." He said and he started on his path down the corridor to the cockpit.

Drake aptly caught the small pouch tossed at him. The only conformation he gave of hearing and understanding Antares was a nod. The Jedi Padawan moved to lean against a wall, as Knight Windu moved into the cockpit again. His fingers lightly toyed with the bag, tossing it up a few inches, catching it, and repeating. Drake was rather restless at this point, anxiously awaiting the landing. He'd always been fidgety, even since he was a young boy. Drake respected men like Antares for that reason. They were always calm, and collected, no matter how firm. It was one of the things Drake liked about his master, Vexander. Finally, his restless fingers stopped, and Drake let his hand fall to his side.

Tattooine - Mos Eisley

Blowing sands and the structures it wore down were just about all one would think of when thinking of this pit. And the horrible people, can't forget that. Ya this was one great town if your the guy knocking the others teeth out. Vix brought the freighter down for a landing in the docking bay, everything went smoothly enough on that note. But just getting here wasn't some feat, not that anything this mission entails will have them braving and hero'ing up the place. They just needed to find the Jawa's and buy the droid. Couldn't be simpler. "Lets get this party started". Vix pulled out the master key and tucked it away for safekeeping. Time to take her first steps on this sand trap.

Finally. The Padawan had landed the ship just as he had walked into the cockpit. He nodded and said nothing, instead he just turned around and went back to the back of the ship where the ramp was. When he had arrived, he initiated the process for the ramp to begin lowering and he exited. Jawas frequented Mos Eisley, but he doubted they would be the droids they would have the droids they were looking for.

"Where shall we go?" He said once the trio had all exited the ship. He knew where to go, to take speeders out into the dunes and hunt down an actual sandcrawler. But the other two could supply plans as well. Backups could always be needed.

"We could go to a cantina. Chances are someone there has seen a sandcrawler." Drake proposed his idea halfheartedly. He imagined the Jedi Knight had already planned something out, and was using this to test whether or not they were able to think of plans, and perform missions well. His own master often seemed to do the same. Drake scratched his neck, and stepped down of the ramp. He moved to stand beside the two other Jedi. Drake looked to Vix to see if she would propose any ideas of her own. His eyes then moved to the surrounding area of sand.

Vix met the other two at the ramp. It was lowered, allowing the suns rays to filter in. "Getting a fix on the crawlers general location would be better than wandering the desert looking for it"? Better than wandeing indeed. Any number of things could entrap, maim or kill the out there. And the less time they had to search the better it would be. "What do you think Antares"?

Tired looking eyes widened slightly before resuming their previous state. "It is Master Windu." He said without turning his head to look at Vix. "And there are several sandcrawlers on this planet. And we need to find signs of the one where are looking for." He started to take Blackwood's plan in stride and started to walk to the Mos Eisley cantina. "If we knew which sandcrawler it was, you wouldn't need a whole team of Jedi." He said and he entered the cantina once he got to the door without a second thought.

@[member="Vix Wul'Tof"] - @[member="Drake Blackwood"]

Drake winced, and sent Vix a sympathetic look. He went to follow Antares towards the cantina. As they walked, Drake looked around. There were a lot of people here, lots of species. It interested Drake to see new species he never had, and others he hadn't. He'd never been to this planet before. Had no idea what it was like, and he intended to find out, lest he got killed. As they entered the cantina, Drake moved his outer robe to cover his lightsaber. Always better to be safe. The place could be littered with criminals, ones who wouldn't be very fond of being around Jedi. Drake looked at Antares to see what the Jedi Knight would do next.

"My apologies; Master Windu". Vix looked downward like a dog that chewed up the shoe. A mistake she made sure, but did he need to act so above them. It wasn't that long ago he was still a Padawan himself. Still if this was just how he was. There wouldn't be anything she could say or do without being out of line again. She just needed to follow the leader like a good dog of the Order. And follow she did; all the way to the Cantina. Vix did shoot a glance over to Drake when Antares mentioned those last words. The very same smokey Cantina hundreds of years ago Skywalker went to for a ticket off this sand trap was the one they arrived at. They weren't playing that crappy song anymore; it long ago loosing its appeal. The patrons were still the same type at least. A few locals, probably some criminals, certainly seedy fellows anyways. What can you expect from a place like this though, good things anyways. The man bar tending was the logical person to talk to, they are the eyes and ears after all. Plenty gets by to them. This particular one was gruff to say the least. His face looked like it could be used for sandpaper; even in the low light that five o'clock shadow was clear as day.

Antares waited and looked at the both of the Padawans as they entered into the Cantina. "Both of you, go find someone who can find us a sandcrawler." He said with a nod of his head and an inclination to go to the bar, he had someone else to speak to. Or at least, he would find someone else to talk to, to find out where their supposed sandcrawler had gone.

Drake nodded, and moved over to the bar. He sat down on a stool, his eyes scanning the room. He'd need someone who looked like they'd own a lot of droids. He had no idea how he'd tell, it'd mainly be a guess. Drake ordered a drink from the bar tender, with the intention of not looking out of place. He spotted a Besalisk who looked a bit shady, and decided he'd head over that way in a few minutes, after getting more of a feel for the cantina.
