According to the traditional stories and lore of the native inhabitants, the Font is a sacred source of water which is the source of all rivers and water on the planet. At its center is a massive bubbling spring which has eight small streams flowing from it. These streams are said to be the fore runners of all the rivers on the planet. Around the Font has been constructed a massive temple complex; though due to the Tauriel's beliefs, this entire structure wasn't technically build. Rather the temple has been grown around the Font. In their religious text, the Font is the home of the Water Goddess Relleis; and it is where she has slumbered since the creation of their world.

Likewise the Oio Lye; with the loose Galactic Basic translation meaning 'The Eternal Tree' is said to be the slumbering place of the Wood Goddess Mora; whom crafted the entire world and seeded it with the many trees that cover it. The tree itself is the only one of its kind; though while it comes from a rather mundane and abundant species of tree on the planet, it is unique. Stark White, with a silvery shine upon its bark when the sun strikes it; its leaves are a deep red. It is said that when it comes time for the tree to die, it releases only a single seed which is grown to replace its parent. Very much like the temple complex around the Font, there is also a hand grown temple complex around the tree.

Culture:
Their Society shares much of and when compared has a fair deal of similarities to that of the Ithorian species. The Tauriel revere nature in all forms as so they have gone to great lengths to ensure as little damage to their world as possible. Throughout their history; their technology has mainly consisted of learning how to shape and use the wood around them; and much like the Ithorians, for any one tree or plant that was consumed in this process, the Taurial religiously planted two more in their place. From this reverence for nature even arose their language, Malatar which when translated into Galactic Basic means 'High Wood.'

Likewise their civilization is one that focused upon diplomacy and intrigue to ensure the safety of their world. However while they have taken to such measure, they have not gone as far as the Ithorians and become pacifist. Rather, the Tauriel had chosen to master the ways of defense and diplomacy as their means of resolving conflict that throughout their history was often waged upon them.

Their religion stems from what others have called a Tribunal of Goddesses. Believing that their world was created by the Water Goddess Relleis whom slumbers within the Font and created all the rivers of their world. The Wood Goddess Mora whom created the world and seeded it with all the trees and flora; and the Sky Goddess Kynd, whom is worshiped for giving life to all things in the world through her breathe.

Technology: Hyperspace - Interstellar travel capable - On par with most of the Galaxy

History:
In ages past the world of Sancre Mora was known for its wars and devastated landscape that was nearly torn asunder. It was not until the near destruction of their world and their people that forced a change. Historians have estimated that this cataclysmic war happened around the time that the Galactic Republic was founded; and had lasted at least two hundred years before the fighting stopped. It is estimated to have taken four hundred years for the surface of the planet to be capable of sustaining life; with the survivors scratching out a living below ground in bunkers and shelters. Likewise, it is thought that it took another one hundred years before the first plants were capable of growing; with another hundred years before trees once again began to grow.

During this great rebirth of nature, the survivors began to revere nature, giving its aspects divinity and believing that it was the Trinity of Goddesses that saved them and ended the war. Likewise this new religion took root and has remained so deeply ingrained within their culture and society that no one has dare question it, nor the beliefs that the species has seen as those that saved them. Once their world was reborn; with flora and fauna thriving and surviving once more, the Tauriel emerged from their bunkers and shelters as a changed people. In these early years of the rebirth, a handful of the survivors began what would later be referred to as 'wood whispering.' In which they carefully grew the trees to bend and turn shape into the massive cities that are now spread through out the world's forests.

It was also during this time that the five houses arose and that the Pentarchy vowed to never allow another war that devastated their world once; to ever occur again. This Pentarchy would form the pillars of their species rebirth and would usher in such decrees and laws that would otherwise push away destructive means of advancement and foster those that were more diplomatic and defensive. For a time however this forced their technological advanced to stagnate, though it is more likely that their focus upon rebuilding did that on its own.

They would thus remain isolated out of choice from much of the galaxy; with the Tauriel looking to the ground rather than the heavens. In these thousands of years they rebuilt their society and reforged it into what it is today. Likewise they rebuild their homes and saw the rapid seeding of forests across the globe; beneath which the remains of their previous society and civilization decayed without second thought to what might or have been lost.

While the Tauriel focused on rebuilding; they were not focused on what may lay beyond the heavens. It was during the rapid expansion of the Galactic Republic and the opening of the Mid Rim that brought the Tauriel to the galaxy. Meeting with a Republic scout ship, the diplomatic minded Tauriel people managed to protect their world; and likewise through the Republic became the staunch allies and friends with the Ithorians. This friendship would foster a lasting relationship between the two species for thousands of years to come; as seen when thousands of Ithorians and Bafforr trees were welcomed with open arms onto Sancre Mora after the Yuuzhan Vong War.

Throughout their history of contact with the Galaxy they remained staunchly independent; though as a means to ensure the protection of their world rather than for any other political or societal statement. Likewise it was this independence that allowed them to stand against such corporations and world exploiters like the Trade Federation and Techno Union. For the most part they retained their Independence throughout the Clone Wars, choosing to neither support the Republic or CIS; however they quietly withdrew from the Galaxy for the most part during the reign of the Galactic Empire. As such they never supported the Galactic Empire, working as hard as they could to once more ensure the world's safety; neither did they support the Rebellion due to their belief that such actions would endanger their world.

As mentioned above, they remained the staunch allies and friends of the Ithorians; so it was no surprise that at the close of the Yuuzhan Vong war, they were one of the first worlds to offer them shelter. Welcoming thousands of Ithorians and Bafforr trees to their planet. While they did remain independent during this era of turmoil; they were operating more closely with the Galactic Republic out of necessity to aid their Ithorian friends and to help in the production of much needed medicines and food production.

For the next few hundred years their world remained quiet; even being over looked during the war between the Fel Empire and Darth Krayt's One Sith due to the lack of any exploitable resource or tactical advantage. Which as seen by the Tauriel was good, as it protected them from conflict. Sadly the world would meet a second cataclysm during the release of the Gulag Virus. During these years much of the Tauriel population would fall victim to the pathogen; pushing their species to the brink. In an effort to protect their people, the Tauriel turned to carbonite freezing and placed many of their people into stasis. This would prove to aid, though there were those that had either died during the process or had died upon in the days after being reawaken for some unknown reason. Now with the virus subsided the planet is opening itself to trade once more as the Tauriel again seek to ensure the safety and protection of their home.

Intent:
To provide a world for a diplomatic and peace minded species in a region of the Galaxy that is filled with tension. With the world placed between the Lords of the Fringe and the Omega Protectorate; I see the possibility for a story arch in which the world is used as a neutral meeting ground between the two sides due to the species independence.
