SETTING INFORMATION
Space Station Name: Saiklama: The Gloaming Islet
Station Model:
The Civilian Spheres of Scintilla
Sphere Diameter: 1500 meters
Classification: Residential, Merchant
Location:
The Scintilla
Affiliation: Nerium, Agents of Chaos
Population: Moderate
Demographics: About as eclectic as its owner, Saiklama offers shelter to a wide assortment of beings, alien and otherwise. Yet it is a realm almost permanently in flux. Many visit, few call it home.
Accessibility: One small part of the ever-growing construct of Scintilla, Saiklama is just about as accessible, at least in theory. Simulated storms make the Gloaming Islet more difficult to access than the average civilian sphere, though regulation in more populated areas means at least one port is always available.
Traffic: Low-Moderate. While almost hazardous to traverse at certain times and locations, the more manageable areas of Saiklama are often ripe with activity.
Description: A realm often looking more like a life-sustaining dwarf planet than a proper station, Saiklama is a prime example of nature reclaiming itself. Or in this case, making a home out of the creation of man. While the more populated markets do maintain a bit of that space station mechanical feel, other areas have been almost overrun by trees and foliage of unknown origins. While the sky and any weather is an inherent simulation meant to mimic reality, the weather system controls seem to be set at random, with days and nights becoming meaningless and storms dissipating just as soon as they formed, similar to
Mortis. There is a dualism to the land, a marriage between law and chaos, mania and dementia. To attempt to fully understand the inner workings of Saiklama is to entertain madness.

POINTS OF INTEREST
The Hive
: A collection of residential apartments, the Hive is known for being extremely compact, especially in comparison to the Wyldes that surround these residential areas. Rent costs are determined on an individual basis, often involving more than just monetary payment. A landlord might ask that a joke be included with a payment of credits, or that every third Tuesday a tenant must invite their landlord to a fish dinner, for a few examples. Despite the general feel of pretty much anything goes, efforts are made to ensure that the Hive is still a relatively comfortable living space, questionable demands aside. Maintenance is known for being prompt and landlords are known for being accommodating to individual needs, though always for a price.
The Grey Market: The leading marketplace of Saiklama, it was named in jest, poking fun at the notion of a black market. Just about anything could be found here, legal or otherwise. It’s here a traveler might note that Saiklama doesn’t have an official currency. Transactions are carried out both by coin and by barter, with exchange rates almost entirely up to the individuals.
The Wyldes: Uninhabited lands of Saiklama where mutation and growth run rampant, the Wyldes are in a constant state of fluctuation. Corruption and restoration both have a hand in these lands. The northern portion of the sphere seems to embody creation and growth, playing host to a force nexus. The southern half, however, is a land riddled with decay and home to the Withering Archives. Both aspects of the Wyldes are not without their appeals, just as they are not without their dangers. A weary traveler might find it all too easy to get swept up in the eccentricities of the land, eventually becoming a part of it themselves, either as an inhabitant or nourishment.
The Withering Archives: Library thing, sub to be made.
Force Nexus: sub to be made

SECURITY
Low. In addition to the basic security that comes with civilian sphere-hood, Saiklama’s unpredictable weather has potential to make at least low-effort attacks difficult, though that would prove to be more an annoyance than a physical defense system. Nevertheless, sometimes annoyance is all that’s necessary. Any ‘organized’ police or militant force operates under that same mentality - that it’s easier to make an undesired outcome annoyingly hard to achieve rather than attempt to stop it entirely. While Saiklama does employ a small police force, their purpose lies more in ensuring the safety and security of domestic matters

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
At first, Saiklama was just one of many Civilian Spheres created to be a part of the Scintilla. And that was all there was to it. Created, but never expanded upon. And then the creature Nerium was given dominion of this particular sphere and it, like its owner, became a manifestation of delirium itself. Plants from all reaches of the galaxy were brought in along with various soil and fungi and left to grow and mutate. Even among a core of metal, through the living Force, life found a way. Several ways. While areas of commerce and tourism were primarily left unharmed, much of the space station began to morph into a pocket of improbability, giving a home to all sorts of flora and fauna. Over time, the opposing poles of the Gloaming Islet morphed almost into entities of their own, with the north overflowing with creation and the south with decay. Nevertheless, the lands along the civilian sphere’s equator were still deemed safe enough for commercial use, leading to the civilian and merchant districts in use today.
