- The Perfect Complement: The Ryuichi Mk1 was specifically designed for use by Koji while he was "Kage", and as a result is a perfect fit. It allows for exactly the right set of movements to facilitate his combat repertoire, and enables him to become a terrifying force on the battlefield.
- Reliable: The Ryuichi Mk1 accounts for a multitude of possibilities, and provides extensive offensive capabilities compared to the average run-of-the-mill melee weapon. The vibrations that are an integral part of any VibroBlade have been turned up to an unmatched level, allowing for an impressive level of piercing capabilities.
- Sith Blade: While not being trained in the force, Koji utilised his family's vast resources to hire a rogue sith, and imbue this blade with the inherent qualities and capabilities of the best Sith Blades. While not being an active Force User prevents him from currently utilising it to the maximum, this imbuing allows the blade to block incoming lightsaber attacks, as well as deflect and absorb blaster bolts in much the same way a lightsaber did. The technological advancements by kiyotaka researchers also allowed the mitigation of the increased weight that usually accompanies a SIth Blade.
- Hidden Capabilities: The Ryuichi Mk1 is far sturdier than its appearance might suggest. Furthermore, if utilised by a strong Dark Side user, it can display its full capabalities as a Sith Blade- a skilled Sith may alter the weapon's molecular structure, making it stronger and sharper, and reverse its magnetic polarity, turning it into a high-temperature superconductor that could absorb blaster bolts and other particle weapons as if magnetically sealed. But perhaps most significantly, the weapon served as a focus for the dark energies of its wielder, amplifying their power and refining their control until they became a walking nexus of dark side power. The weapon's magnetic properties, combined with its attraction to the dark side of the Force, caused it to react unusually to discharges of Force lightning; The blade would attract and absorb the energy, storing it like an electric capacitor until the blade made contact with a substantial physical object, whereupon the amplified electrical energy was discharged— to an extremely devastating effect.
- Not-so-silent: Just like most VibroBlades, Kage's sword has a hum, which becomes even louder as it is swung by the user. While Kiyotaka researchers did their best to minimise this noise, It is still audible to those with sharp hearing, preventing the user from easily assassinating alert opponents.
- Recharge: The High Vibration Frequency that gives the Ryuichi Mk1 its piercing capabilities also consumes a lot of power. As a result, a mere week's extensive usage can deplete the prototype power cells that power it. As a result, extended usage is difficult, forcing its user to have some sort of recharging mechanism on hand.
Unlike his armour, which had initially been developed with hopes of mass production, the Ryuichi Mk1 had been the continuation of the Kiyotaka tradition wherein the heir recieved a weapon from the family at their coming-of-age, which would then be utilised by him/her for their entire lifetime. In shape, it resembles an ōdachi, allowing the utilisation of traditional sword techniques- with suitable additions to match non-conventional enemies, of course. It was additionally designed to be pure black, but the Night of the Red ROse led to its edge absorbing the blood it was bathed in, gaining a dark red edge.
