DEVELOPMENT THREADS: N/A
SPECIES: Sith Pureblood
AGE: Early 60s
SEX: Male
FORCE SENSITIVITY: Knight Level
WEALTH: Poor
WEAPON OF CHOICE: Lightsaber, The Force
COMBAT FUNCTION: Skilled with lightsaber combat and the Force, but with a much greater tendency to avoid combat where possible; prefers peaceful solutions. Possibly fearful to fight if presented the opportunity. Due to his hermitage, he rarely sees combat.

NOTABLE POSSESSIONS: Lightsaber

APPEARANCE:
Slight of figure and tough of face, Ryokan's physical appearance shows his advancing age. His pale red, wrinkled skin and hollow eyes portray a tired man. Despite his average stature, Ryo is still physically capable. Two slender tendrils, decorated simply in traditional Sith fashion, fall from his lower cheeks down over his sharp jawline like facial hair, a physical aspect common amongst his people. His head is bald from age.

PERSONALITY / STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
[+] Temperate - Ryo does not participate in base pleasures, preferring to focus his mind and body on other, more sacred things.
[+] Sharp - Despite his age, Ryo has succeeded in maintaining a refined and quick mind.
[+] Historian - Temporarily a librarian for the Jedi, Ryo has had plenty of opportunity to expand his knowledge of Jedi history.

[~] Solitary - A hermit, Ryo prefers solitude over company, contemplating the Force and its infinitude. Yet as a result, he is not without his eccentricities.
[~] Serious - In his old age, Ryo has grown stern and grim. It has served him well during his exile, but has also proved to alienate him from society.

[-] Rude - Ryo seems to have all but forgotten how social interaction is supposed to work, and is quite rude to anyone who is unlucky enough to stumble upon him.
[-] Ashamed - The actions he chosen in his past has caused Ryo to be filled with guilt and shame, and as a result leads a melancholic existence.
[-] Psychologically Scarred - Ryo has faced the Abyss of Ruh on Tython, an experience that has left heavy marks upon him.

OTHER NOTES / HISTORY:
Raised an only child in a humble Sith family on Republic Alderaan, Ryokan had a fair upbringing with the prospect of a great future. With strong attunement to the Force discovered at an early age, before long Ryo was taken the serve the Jedi Order, and he did so with deep pride. He excelled in his preliminary training as a youngling, and when he became of age was assigned a formal master. As his training progressed, Ryo was assigned a position as a librarian for the Jedi archives. His time spent within the walls of the great libraries gave him the chance to refine his understanding of what the Jedi were and where they came from.

As the war raged on between the Jedi and the Sith, the young apprentice and his master were assigned a long-term covert operation to Coruscant, concealing themselves in order to find out any important information relevant to the war. During the years that followed of this mission, Ryo's direct training slowed considerably. As time progressed, Ryokan met a young woman of his own species, Sen, who lived in a slum with her mother, Shekka. The two quite quickly fell in love, despite strong warnings against it. The affair brought conflict between Ryo and his master. Within the year, Sen was pregnant.

But the sour taste on the end of his tongue had made Ryo bitter towards her, and he blamed her for seducing him away from the purity he strove to achieve as a Jedi, tarnishing his practice, his reputation and his relationship with his teacher. Upon their next meeting, Ryo and his master went to blows, and in a fit of uncontrolled rage Ryo severely wounded and subdued him. Coming to his senses moments before delivering a mortal strike, Ryo realised that already he had gone too far and fled. There would be no turning back.

Stealing a small shuttle from the Coruscant docks, Ryokan made passage to Tython. There, he was able to find some sense of solace despite the occasional presence of unwelcome visitors. He spent months at a time meditating along the Silent Desert, contemplated the ancient ruins of temples, and ventured into the Rift and the Abyss of Ruh to face his deepest darkness. Such a visitation scarred him but taught him much about the nature of the Force and the threads of time that he could never believe possible. He glimpsed what is, what had been and what could be. The experience showed him that there was much more to the Force than the Jedi could ever teach him.

When the Sith came to take Tython, Ryo successfully concealed himself from the oncoming invaders. He wept for the ancient history and knowledge that was was away by the arrogant ambitions of these darksiders and vowed never to join them. Instead, he retreated further away from civilisation and into complete reclusiveness, deep in the untouched swamps of northern Tython. He became nothing more than an obscurity, a legend shared to young acolytes to keep them from straying from the temple, the 'Red Hermit' who would eat children and use their bones for a mattress. Whilst the reality harboured a broken man filled with regret, hiding from the perils of the galaxy that threatened to trample him entirely.

INTENT: Character development for [member="Kyros Fen"] and possible future training sometime (maybe *shrug*).

So as a Sith Pureblood is supposed to be rare/borderline extinct, I need a development to show how he actually came to be in this era of the galaxy. Also, as a Knight level character, I'm very very very apprehensive of letting you have Force Light on this character as that is generally a skill Light-side Masters have, so I would like that removed. Everything else is fine though.
