Approximately 1 standard week after bounty
Dryzl's mouth twisted as she re-read the bounty posting. It had not taken the Dubrillion government long to gather information on the two (who were currently hiding out in a cheap motel). They had even managed to link her to Mr. Bane. She wondered, not for the first time, if they should seek refuge from him. She could go back to work as his bodyguard to pay him back, and if he let Akio do it to then Mr. Bane would have the safest security yet.
She sighed. Five accounts of police homicide. Four were Akio's, true, but the fifth....
Dryzl hadn't wanted to kill him. Honest. If she'd had more time, she could have set her blaster to stun. But she didn't. Therefore, she was now truly responsible for the loss of a father, a husband, a son...
Her first death, ever. And it just had to be an officer. That guilt would never go away, never leave her thoughts...not that it was on par with Akio's guilt.
Not that Akio would know, either. He didn't know that before then, she had never taken a life. Not even when they stormed Olivia Darque's mansion.
And now she had, but on the wrong side of the law.
The Chiss pushed the datapad away, rubbing her forehead. When had her life gone so cockeyed? It was like she'd taken a downward spiral.
It didn't help that the most interesting job of hers was with a criminal, too. And her -- boyfriend? -- was an assassin.
If only her family could see her now.
