Location: Coruscant, the Underworld.
Time: Benduday, 03:34:40 Coruscant Standard

Almost three years have passed since Adoda took over the Black Eyes. With new blood joining the gang, Jared's star is falling.

"Things are not as they are supposed to be" Jared thought while leaving the last in a line of disastrous meetings. "Hiring trigger-happy idiots should not be the way we earn our money." Jared sighed. "But nothing has been the same since you died, right buddy?"

Jared strode across the road to his safe house, trying to shake the feeling like something is very wrong.

Walking the darker streets of Coruscant, Spencer pressed the mask upon her face tightly. She had been doing some research on some of the gang activity that was lingering on the streets. There had been a shift of power in one and it seemed to be growing more violent. The idea of a violent gang worried Spencer, they were always violent, but this was something that could grow out of hand. Taking matters into her hands she began her search and did her best to try and get the right information.

Wearing something far from her usual apprentice clothing or her royal garbs, she had taken a page out of Karrde’s book and looked like a grunge spacer. Spearing some of the dust from the streets of Coruscant she wiped her cheeks and soon removed the mask revealing her soft face which was now covered in soot. Making her way down the streets, she passed a man. From her Intel he was tied with the Black Eyes the exact gang she was looking into.

As she passed him, she would throw her shoulder into him hoping to get his attention.

Deep in thought Jared passed one of the countless casino's in Coruscant, when he suddenly felt a spike in his awareness.
Without a second thought Jared side stepped a cute lady who just appeared around the corner and seemingly had not noticed him.

"Excuse me, Miss, I did not see you there." Jared said with a wink and continued on his path. While walking away from her it dawned on him that it was strange to see such a beauty all alone in this area.

He almost turned around to ask if she was in need of some assistance, but then decided against it. "You have enough problems of your own, Jared, without trying to save every fair maiden on the way." He said strongly to himself.

--

Spencer frowned as he turned and continued to walk past her. It was curious that he was able to avoid her nudge also with the fact that he was in the Black Eyes sparked her interest. Fixing her hair a bit she wandered up to him and kept his stride. Looking up, she smiled softly and spread her influence around him. The young mentalist poked near his brain attempting to draw his attention towards her, to hopefully spark his interest and open himself up.

He’s a force user Spence be careful.

She picked up on it quickly and decided to do her best and get him to talk.

“It’s okay I should have paid attention as I came down this way. I’m a bit lost, first time on Coruscant can you help me?”

Jared looked back at the girl and started feeling a bit strange. He shrugged it off and blamed it on the long nights without sleep he had been experiencing.

"Of course, my Lady. Jared Ovmar at your service." Jared said, while bowing slightly. "How can I be of assistance?"

It was how fate played this out that Spencer would sometimes find fascinating. The boy she had followed in hopes of getting information on the Black Eyes was suddenly jumped and did his best to fight them off. His reaction time, the way he moved – it was obvious another entity was guiding him. The only way the Master could take on an entire group of hooligans was to control them like she had done several times before. In moments, the influence of the woman grasped the simple minds of the men and forced them to end their own lives.

Finishing, she moved over kicked the bodies and looked down at the boy she had just saved. Kneeling she ran her hands that were warm with the force, this time healing her target of his wounds. His words made her smile, it was abnormal for someone other than Karrde to call her beautiful, his words seemed sincere and she shook her head.

“No, I’m the Goddess of Trickery, but for now – my name is Spencer.”

She finished healing him and offered her hand towards him. He was healed, but would probably be a bit sore from his confrontation with the assassins. Looking around, Spencer figured this wasn’t the best place to talk and she raised her brow nodding towards another direction.

“You know of a safe place we can talk – we have a lot to talk about…don’t go trying to lose me either.”

Biting the corner of her lip, she broke the skin, she grabbed the boy and gave him a quick kiss on his cheek. A slight burning sensation would occur and then disappear leaving a dot of her blood which changed color to a light brown ting.

“You’re marked, you won’t be getting away from me now – so let’s talk.”

For a second Jared considered running. But from the looks of it the woman, who just saved, him was serious. He sighed deeply and said: "It does not look nor feel like I have a choice in the matter, so let us go." "Damn." He thought. "That kiss really stinged, still.. worth it."

After a while they arrived at his safe house, he typed in the password and let the woman who called herself Spencer in.

"This is going to be interesting."

Spencer walked in and ran her hand through her hair; she didn’t bother creating another illusion. The man already knew her identity and there was no going back from that. He would have to be instructed to never tell a soul she was here. Folding her arms across her chest she looked back at him and pondered how she would go about letting the man know that he’s sensitive with the force. How was she going to tell someone one that their abilities were guided by the invisible Force.

Sighing softly she spoke.

“Well, obviously you lied to me saying you couldn’t help me. So let’s get a couple of things out in the open. Who are the Black Eyes and why would you get jumped like that?”

Jared regarded Spencer for a moment and then sat down to organize the events of this night in his head. The silence dragged on for what seemed like hours. He was a bit conflicted about this, years of conditioning made it hard for him to just share his private affairs with someone. On the other hand Spencer did save his life, so maybe he owed her the truth.

He exhaled deeply and then looked intensely at her. "I am the Black Eyes, at least what is left of them." Jared said with a sad smile. "I was the second Black Eye and now I am the last of them." For a second he watched Spencer looking for a some sort of reaction, but there was none to find. The woman was excellent in hiding her emotions. He smiled approvingly at that.

"The reason why those men jumped me?" Jared started to laugh openly at that. "Probably because I was as much of a pain in Adoda's ass as possible. The man has no vision at all, hiring random ballers and muscle to extend his territory." He sighed at that. "There was a time being a Black Eye meant something. Me and the Boss were no saints, but we protected our people and we were fair in our crimes."

He was about to continue his story when he decided against it. "Do not mind me, the past is the past."

"So, do you have any more questions?" Jared asked her with a slightly raised brow.

Spencer listened checking off the points she had picked up from his men. A part of her felt sorry for the man, his world was twisted and upside down with this new boss. To her the gangs played a certain part of society, of course they weren’t all good, but they provided a balance to the law. A hand rested under her chin as she pondered her next move. She could sense his frustration which was apparent to anyone even if they weren’t an empath. Her hand fell from her chin and she nodded.

“I have one question. What are you going to do now? You’re the last of your group and it seems this Adoda is someone you’re not too fond of.”

She raised an eyebrow awaiting his answer, she wondered if he was the type for revenge or if he was the type to just fall back into line and work with his head down. It was a test and she was hopeful he would pass.

Jared pondered on her question for a bit, but deep down inside he already knew the answer. It would have far-reaching consequences, but there was simply no other choice. If you get frakked with in the Understreets, you cut off the offending limb. No questions asked.

"Before tonight? I would probably have left the planet and never looked back. But Adoda went for me personally. He made this personal." Jared said with a scowl on his face.
He composed himself and then continued. "When we are done here? I am going to take every little piece of dirt there is to find about Adoda, destroy his reputation and his standing. I will take everything he has got. When he has nothing left anymore, I will pay him a visit and end him." "Just like he categorically destroyed the Black Eyes."

Jared gave Spencer a cold smile "There is a reason Adoda tried to have me killed in an alleyway by assassins." "He knows he cannot handle me on an one on one fight."

Then Jared fell silent, he had expressed everything he had to express. Now it was Spencer's time, he still wondered about her motives. Why was she so interested in the Black Eyes, what is her stake in this all.

Spencer ran her finger under her nose as she did her best to warm the chilled tip. Coruscant was never her favorite place and the deeper you went the colder it got sometimes. Her arms fell back against her chest as she listened to him. He was bent on revenge which meant he was easily swayed towards the darkness. Lips pressed together for a moment as she waited till he was finished. If he fought now he wouldn’t survive.

“Your revenge will come, but you have to know you’re not ready. You’re running on emotions, I can feel them flowing from you. Acting on impulse like this will get you killed you need to hone your skills. You have a natural talent with the Force, but what more do you have?”

A grin swept across her face as she stepped closer. She took him in slowly and could feel the strength of his aura. He was strong and uncontrolled, she would have to do something about this – at least teach him how to center himself and draw upon what is inside of him and the Force.

“You have a strong pull of the Force, but you lack training and patience. If you’re willing – I will train you.”

Jared considered Spencer's words, it was true that if he would go all out war now he probably would not survive to tell the tale. There was a desire deep inside of him to annihilate Adoda, to do right by all his people that lost their lives because of the Rodian. Jared detached himself from his feeling and looked at the situation objectively. "If I accept this woman's help I could become stronger, more competent. Maybe even learn the Force if what she says is true and I actually have a knack for it."

He exhaled slowly. "Assuming that I actually go through with Spencer's proposal, I would probably be away for a long time. The Rodian could get himself killed while I was gone." The side of him that screamed for retribution and justice fought fiercely with his more pragmatic side, but in the end it was a lost cause.

Jared nodded to himself and then made himself smile one of his charming smiles, pretending nothing was wrong. "I accept your proposal, I will learn everything you are willing to teach me. After I am ready I will return here and finish all unfinished business."

Spencer couldn’t help but smile; it seemed she come here to find more than just the gangs of Coruscant. It was funny how the fates played out this way and the story somewhat mimicked how her master had found her. Reaching back, she unclipped her lightsaber – a weapon rarely used by the woman. She had recently changed out the crystal to a white one showing her balance in the force. Holding the weapon in her hand she allowed it to hover in her palm for a moment with the force.

“Well then, you’re my student now and as such you need a weapon that most Je’daii used. It’s called a lightsaber I’m sure you’ve seen them before. Be careful not to lose your head with it, it’s a mess that I’d rather not have to deal with.”

She tossed the weapon towards the man and continued to smile.

“You seem conflicted – did you want to handle something before you left? I won’t be leaving you here on Coruscant we’ll be headed towards the Unknown Regions – there you’ll call me master and refer to me as Yun-Harla.”

Jared caught the Lightsaber with one hand, it was a beautiful piece of art. Elegant in its design and if you believe the stories, deadly in its use. It was still hard to believe that he would be learning to utilize this weapon, hell it was hard to believe that he was actually a Force User. It was always strange, knowing exactly what to do at stressful times. How to minimize causalities and damage at disastrous times, but he had always assumed it was part of his luck. But now a more interesting possibility appeared in front of him, the Force was guiding him all those times.

“You seem conflicted – did you want to handle something before you left? I won’t be leaving you here on Coruscant we’ll be headed towards the Unknown Regions – there you’ll call me master and refer to me as Yun-Harla.”

"No.. Master Yun-Harla, it is just a bit hard to believe that I can use the Force. You hear a lot of stories about Jedi and Sith, but you never expect to get in the middle of them. We can leave immediately, I will leave a sign for my associates. I think they deserve a nice vacation." "Just let me take some of my stuff with me, it is not a lot. But it is all that I have."

Jared did not lie when he told his new Master that he did not have a lot of possessions. A stash of credits, for a rainy day. A faded picture of a child-hood friend and a glove for his right hand to hide the mark embedded on it. It took him a few minutes to burn all the dossiers he had, could mean trouble if someone got his hands on them. And then he was done, without a word he returned to Spencer and waited for her word to leave.

Spencer nodded and watched him gather his things; a smile crossed her face as she listened to him. Even after the discovery of his ability with the force his mind was on his men. A soft sigh of relief, this was possibly the reason why she came down here to find this man among the thieves. The thought of finding a diamond in the rough was something she never had expected, but the force worked in mysterious ways. Once he was ready she led him through the levels of Coruscant and headed towards the hanger, flashing something towards one of the guards he bowed and let her aboard the Peregrine that was waiting.

The hatch lowered and they both walked aboard the ship. The woman directed her new companion to the bridge as she disappeared into the bunks and changed out of the spacer clothes. The girl wasn’t the type to wear this sort of stuff. She shouted out towards him as she moved through her clothing looking for the tunic and echani pants she usually wore.

“Make yourself at home Jared – we have a long trip ahead of us but we should be able to get some work done here”

“Make yourself at home Jared – we have a long trip ahead of us but we should be able to get some work done here”

These words shocked him, for he had never known any kindness. Jared had been used to the rough and bloody life of the Underworld and this woman? This woman rocked the foundations of his carefully laid out personality by that one sentence. Only one person had ever given him a friendly word and even he had only done it to make him his man. But for some reason Jared felt that Spencer was different, he knew not why. It was just a gut feeling and the years in the understreets had made him trust his gut. As such he relaxed a bit, only enough to exhale softly and wait for Spencer to return.

Sternly he stood on the bridge, suppressing a grin at the sight of a Throne in the middle of the bridge. Spencer did not seem like a woman who would appreciate this kind of display of power. Maybe there was more to this girl than meets the eye, it would be interesting if she had actually stolen this interesting ship.

Remembering the item she threw at him back at his place, he decided to take it out of his pocket and check it out. She had called it a lightsaber, a weapon of a Jedi. Oh he had heard of those figures, but few if any of their order would visit the Underworld. Too dirty for their beautiful radiant worlds, they could not handle the truth. While preaching Peace and Serenity, they lived above a despair filled world. Instead of doing something about it? They ignored it. Pitiful bunch, the Jedi. Only words and no action at all.

After changing, Spencer made her way back to the bridge where she had found Jared admiring the equipment she had given him. The girl smiled, she had always been detail oriented and the Saber was no different. The handle had a slight curve to it, but nothing drastic and in its metal a simple blessing was etched into it. It did nothing but add something unique to the blade and Spencer was quite fond of it. She moved quietly as she continued to move close to him.

“You like it? If you would kindly twist the bottom component to the right till it clicked, it lowers the power output so you can train with it and not kill yourself.”

Waiting for him to do as she had asked she quickly moved to the throne like command chair. Of course Jared would never know the true reason behind the throne, but that was something that most people didn’t know. Once coordinates were set for Annaj, she twisted the chair and crossed her leg over the other. In a classic sense she used the force to draw out a small training droid, it landed into her lap and she smiled.

“So what do you think so far…about everything? Any questions?”

Silently Jared did as Spencer asked, twisting the bottom component until it finally clicked in place. He had heard a lot about lightsabers, training with one had never been a real fantasy of his. It had always seemed to far out of reach, but now here he was. Holding one himself, it was not as heavy as he had expected it to be. For some reason he had come to believe that such a deadly weapon would have a more appropriate weight to it. He loved it though, its design was gracious to say the least and Jared had always appreciated a graceful and streamlined weapon. With a big grin on his face, like a kid who just got their fringemas present, he bowed lightly and said: “You honor me, my Lady. Though I doubt I am worth it.”

Then he noticed the little training droid in her lap, he gazed at his with some wariness. And then arched his eyebrow. “Why do I get the feeling I am going to get my ass handed to me by that little droid?”
