STRENGTHS

COMBAT HOVER ...: While repulsor lift technology allows for VTOL modes, the "combat hover" ability allows for slow hovering movement and positioning for not only drop and extraction but air support.

SUPERCHARGER: The Supercharger allows for overclocking the engines in extreme situations.

6 TURRETS IS 6 TURRETS: With four turrets on either side and two turrets behind the loading ramp, the gunship variant can give the licking a transport can take. .

WEAKNESSES

.EXPOSED ENGINES: A well-placed shot could disable either engine and effectively ground the ship, especially during "Combat Hover"

.HERKY JERKY: The ship is highly maneuverable, but without almost constant practice, the controls can put the Pegasus out of control.

CAN TAKE A LICKIN' BUT...: Where a transport variant is about "defense" this puppy is about "offense" and while it does have a decent defensive system, it is not the "flying tank" its sister models are.

DESCRIPTION

The RTT-04 armored troop transport, also referred to as the Republic troop transport, was a light armoredinfantry fighting vehicle that was part of Rothana Heavy Engineering's line of military repulsorcraft designed and manufactured for the Galactic Republic. It as considered to be small and fast, and was light enough to be carried and airdropped by a LAAT carrier into the middle of a battlefield, where their maneuverability and infantry reinforcement could quickly turn the tide of a battle.[SUP][1][/SUP] The RTT-04 could carry a squad of eight or twelve fully armed and equipped clone troopers with all of their combat gear, and was also configurable to carry supplies, and was crewed by a pilot and a co-pilot or gunner. Although it had light armor and was considered to be delicate, the RTT-04 had immense firepower. Its main armament was a twin dorsal turret-mounted mass-driver missile launcher similar to the ones found in Low Altitude Assault Transport models, and as secondary armament had a twin light laser cannon. The RTT40 takes these assets and adds them to the retired “Cheub Gunship” design and frame, adding control aspects of a starfighter for (hopefully) better avionics and control. This is not the dedicated primary troop transport for The Hidden Path (though it is one of the more capable ones. The RTT40 is designed to come in “hot” with weapons ready and blazing, carrying a team of operators to secure the landing zone as the ramp lowers and gunners target incoming enemy troops and armor getting “our boys out”.
