Round 1. (Navio) {Open to IC spectators}

By this point in the battle, thrilling adrenaline was coursing through his system. This exhilarated the Mando warrior respectively, his interest becoming more focused on the battle. His observant eyes darted towards Alexandra as he awaited for her to draw her lightsabers and readied himself for her next assault.

He was adequately prepared, however his opponent's swift relentless strikes would definitely prove troublesome. Navio threw a leg back as she approached with haste, his own beskad styled blade throwing itself in front of him in order to defend against a number of attacks. Navio took advantage of the blade's large form, barely managing to block the first three strikes aimed for his left thigh, right wrist and right leg. However, difficulty was setting in as the next set came, Navio realizing his incapability of blocking all of them.

Navio's mind quickly analyzed the confrontation in that moment, notably taking note of the part of the Echani's body he had first managed to hit; namely her leg. From there, he forced an opening as he allowed for the strike aimed for his left elbow to connect. This sent a course of pain shooting through his system, but he continued either way using the adrenaline flushing through his system and his trained endurance. His willpower seemed firm as he took advantage of this clear opportunity, bringing his hefty blade across Echani's lower legs with enough force to knock her off her feet and potentially fracture something.

Should she fall or fail to retreat during that time, he'd follow up with another strike aimed for shoulder blade.

She saw his blade move and while her offblade moved to attempt and intercept it only merely changed the course just enough to miss her leg, it didnt help her though as she had to quickly backpedal and this resulted in her tripping back and falling to the ground, in which she was treated to first dazed vision that was followed by colossal pain, his blade having pushed its way into her shoulder, sharp or not enough strength behind a weapon will allow for even a small degree of penetration. With that fact she would have burst into action and lightly send a burst of lightning into his chest had she the energy but instead of having the force she used his own weapon against him as she would grab the blade with one hand, forcing him to have to pull up and with the blade her, in which she would attempt a strike at his head, this of course would be immediately followed by her letting got of the blade and bolting into a sprint, using her speed to jump and pull herself up into a tree by bounding off a rock, she needed a minute to recouperate, even just a few seconds. Should the blow hit, she would count off the points in her head, the man would have four from hitting her in the shoulder, supposing that the shoulder counts as part of the torso, and if her blade hit she would have five, if not only two points, this was bad either way if she couldn't recover.

Talia sat in the stands with the large crowd, watching the fight from above. The Echani girl was a skilled Force-user, but it looked like the Mando was gaining the upper hand. It was certainly entertaining. She eyed the both of them, hungrily awaiting the next move. This had to be the best thing she'd chosen to do for fun in a long time!

Silus wore a toothy grin as he made his way into the stands and thereafter into one of the seats alongside his comrades. "If only," he said as he tilted his head back, day dreaming of blood and gore. He was rather jealous of the mandalorian, though in truth he would have rather fought the Mandalorian himself than the jedi. There was nothing like killing someone you were well acquainted with, or at least that's the way Silus thought.

The solid hit vibrated through Navio's hands as his blade made contact, a good sign for Navio. Shortly after though, the small woman gripped the blade with her tiny hand, attempting to hoist it upwards. An expression of curiosity appeared on his face as she attempted this feat. He wasn't sure why she was trying to compete with him in strength by this sudden display, however Navio's own strength most likely surpassed hers.

Nonetheless, she managed to raise the blade from her shoulder slightly as Navio temporarily relaxed his grip, only to be met with a sudden lightsaber strike aimed for his head by Alexandra. Filled with worry, the warrior instinctually detached his left hand from the grip of his blade in order to meet the strike, trying his best to avoid damage to his head. White light met with his sleeve covered hand, the stunning effect of the blade sending another course of pain and numbness through his arm. However, Navio's opportunistic nature forced him to react as his right hand yanked hard on his blade, empowered with the epitome of his strength. His plan was to pull Alexandra closer towards him and use the momentum throw a very rough headbutt toward's the Echani's own frail head. In doing so, he hoped to further weaken her so he could prepare his next attacks.

Depending on how she took the headbutt from the large male, Navio planned to drag his sword back to him and lash outwards again, this time towards the side she had used to grab the blade with.

What a brute....

To point out again, the shoulder counts as the torso when struck from the front or back, but if struck from the side it will count as part of the arm because of the less solid hit.

The score stands at:
Navio: 4
Alexandra: 3

I'd hate to see the damage if the weapons weren't being kept non-lethal and if people had force powers and alternative gear. . . . . .

Nonetheless despite the gore and shredded scenery we hope everyone is enjoying these displays of skill!

(( Ya i know it was non lethal, but to be fair he came down with no resistance with a blade whether nullified or blunted it would bite in a little which i had happen to be fair. Im sticking to the no force thing though, as it makes things interesting, sorry for the slight infraction.))

Her getting headbutted by him was delayed as the moment she was able to move in any sense of the word she did, and she tried to put as much distance between her and what she could do. Her shoulder pained her in such a way she couldn't repress without the force and this was becoming a bit of a hindering but oh how was it becoming more and more fun. The blade came at her though and she grinned as she resumed her tactic of deflection instead of blocking, using one blade to change the direction of the strike and the second to give her a bit more strength behind it. With that she jumped back and brought both saber's pommels together and twisted, locking the two sabers together as they formed a pseudo saberstaff and leaving her to set her feet down on the ground once more. "Come and get me."

Navio's headbutt missed! His opponent had managed to skillfully slip away from his grasp and distance herself, however in the process of grabbing his blade previously, Alexandra was forced to drop one of her lightsabers. As such, she was now left with a single lightsaber after blocking his second attack. Navio narrowed his eyes as she distanced herself from him, taking note of her challenging posture.

Navio's eyes were immediately attracted to the fallen lightsaber in front of him, making it his job to approach it and kick it behind him a considerable distance. This was to ensure she wouldn't return for it in the near future like she had with her retractable staff.

After the deed was done, Navio took a moment to analyze his current situation. Various point numbers flashed through his mind as he calculated both of their estimated scores; 4 for Navio and 3 for Alexandra. The odds were looking in his favor, but the Mandalorian warrior knew full well that the tides of battle were as unstable as the ocean's ebb, so he made sure to act cautiously.

Blade lifted high, similar to that of a medieval knight, Navio accepted his opponent's challenge and charged. At this point, both of their staminas were lessened from the ongoing fight, but Navio took into account his opponent's current injuries and lit up with an adrenaline fueled confidence. When in range, Navio whirled his blade towards the Echani at a slightly slower speed than normal. However, this was all part of his plan as it acted as a feint for the real attack. He quickly chained in a precise slash cutting diagonally upward in the shadow of his feint, making it difficult to deflect. Navio clearly wanted to whittle his opponent down at this point.

The blade slamed into her arm and sent her flying from her feet and landing hard on the ground as she looked up at the sky, swallowing and trying to push herself up until she realized it would only take a single point to win this for him, she needed to hit him in the head, and there was only way this was going to happen. She needed range and without her other saber she would not have that range, but she would also need to be careful. Her body slowly rose as she dropped the other saber and she grabbed her staff before she let it extend and she gripped it with both hands before needing him to attack her just right, her body was tired but she was putting as much of her mind into this fight as she could now, as careful analyse of the field left her with two options, and so she stepped out into the clear and waited for him to come.

Trayce watched the fight with interest, having stood in the shadow of the stands briefly before warming up for his own fight, and he thought both contestants were skilled beyond belief, easily his equals. He allowed a small smile to creep onto his face as he watched, and through it all he respected the Mandalorian, even believing that the fight could be his... But his years of training told him the Echani Jedi had a chance. She was who he was interested in. Even with his hate for Jedi, his respect for her prowess was undeniable, and he silently hoped that she would prevail, and he would face her in the later rounds.

Yet another hit was delivered by Navio, a satisfied expression across his face. This fight was one of the toughest fights he has had in a long time and he couldn't help but relish the fact. After his opponent was sent flying, Navio quickly spun on his heel and repositioned his blade in a more desirable position, watching her movements.

To his surprise, Alexandra dropped her saber in favor of reverting back to the retractable staff she had used previously to deliver an uncanny hit. If this were a real fight, Navio would of questioned the switch, but due to the technical nature of the tournament the staff was the more optimal choice at this point. The warrior went over in his head the gathered points, realizing he was just one away from winning the match while Alexandra was three away. He figured he only real chance she had to win was to land a hit on his head, which was further backed by her switch to the staff.

Previously in the fight, he was caught off guard by the exotic fighting style she used with the staff, but having already experienced it once he felt much more adapted to it. Navio drew his blade closer as he stood in the arena, beads of sweat rolling down the side of his face. All he needed was one hit, but he had to be careful. With that in mind, he made it a priority to protect his head.

The blades-man knew Alexandra's fighting style relatively well by now. Through the entire fight, she had been relying purely on her agility and defensive prowess. Only once or twice has she actively started blade confrontations and Navio was catching on.

However, he knew his opponent would not act and most likely stand idly by until he did, so he decided to begin yet another clash of melee skills. Navio darted forth at a decently impressive speed, prepared to utilize the length of his blade. Once with in reach, his sword would cross diagonally across the Echani's location, downwards. He used this strike in particular to further ensure his ability to counter defend, ready to bring the blade back up towards his face in a blocking maneuver should she try something funny again, like the aerial display from before. He was prepared and ready.

He was prepping a distinct pattern in his head to use for his future victory.

As his blade came in she did not jump, she did not block it, she merely fell down close to the ground before throwing every bit of strength behind a blow that was aimed to thrust the staff up into his gut and into his chest from there as she would suddenly then roll too his side in one fluid motion as she grabbed the saber on the ground as part of the roll and activated it before bringing it in a single cut for the back of his knee. The blows were aimed to be precise, quick, and fluid, but the man had surprised her before and if the staff did not give her that single second of surprise, her strike would leave her utterly defenseless and open to a counter strike she would not defend. It was completely up to his ability to react to a once more unique and unorthodox strike in which she had purposely made him think she would no longer use her saber by throwing it away, if both strikes connected it would be the end of the match as she would get in combination the three points she needed, if it didn't he would be able to dispatch her without trouble and win.

(Your move and decision.)

Navio's blade cleaved through the air as Alexandra fell closer to the ground, lashing out with her staff. The warrior had not completely predicted such a maneuver, but nonetheless expected some sort of uncanny counter attack. As such, his senses and reflexes were fine tuned to her quick movements by now as his blade quickly altered its course as she dropped and attempted to throw a swift strike into his gut. The slash from Navio chained efficiently and quickly into a horizontal sweep slightly lowered in order to cut across the Echani female and strike her, but in the process his opponent's assault hit as intended, driving deep into his chest. He had braced himself and hoped that his slash had at least skimmed her during this confrontation.

He assumed that coupled with his quick counter attack and the force of the staff sending him staggering back a ways, his opponent would not of been able to sweep around him and slash across the back of his knee.

Depending on the situation, the Mando brought up a defensive position and awaited any further reaction.

Alright I want everyone to know first that I read the thread over several times making sure to keep track of everything and how things were written and how well they were written.

And in regards to the final clash I referenced pose references for similar situations, took physics and biology into account (Yes weight and distance and human muscle strength and reaction speed), and also checked several anime fight scenes involving swords just because those are awesome.

The deciding factor would be if Navio's blade would continue on course with the same momentum once struck in the gut. Trying my best to reenact the scene with a friend. . . .which was embarrassing but thankfully simple (Thank you nerf), and taking into account a trained soldiers strength compared to our own for both Navio and Alexandra, and factoring in what would happen if Alexandra followed through and Navio attempted to counter the roll and slash to his legs. I have come to the conclusion that Alexandra would be the victor by a margin of just a few seconds.

If everyone would like to make final posts regarding the outcome and the actual occurrence of them then feel free.

This was a brilliantly written match and incredible to have as our first. I feel this was of high quality and that both writers should be both proud of their efforts and not think too into the matter too much as this was merely kept to a specific fighting subset. I actually feel as if it is a shame that you two ended up paired in the first round after delivering such an astounding thread.

Alexandra breathed slowly as she stood, her arms dropping the saber as she looked up to see the match having been concluded for them. She was exhausted though and her body was just barely holding itself up as she looked at the man and slowly gave him a bow, holding it painfully until he recognized it and returned it or atleast acknowledged her. She would need to recover quick, which would be easy once the force was returned to her but for now she would need her sabers and warstaff returned to her else she would be in even worse shape than she would have been should this duel have been for real.

With that thought she spoke to the man and straightened herself up, eyes shaking but on him as her words left her. "We should do this again warrior, my name is Alexandra Lianne Cinthra, and i thank you for showing my where i still need practice, perhaps next time we can be a bit... more experienced than we are now and create an even bigger show for people."

A flash of light streaked across his vision during their final confrontation, the ending result unclear at first. Then, a loud ringing resounded throughout the arena, signaling the end of the match. Navio was left halted in place, his blade extended outwards mid-air. To his disappointment however, Alexandra was nowhere to be seen. This was due to her success in winding around him and landing the final blow, which his body had refused to accept due to adrenaline and unyielding willpower.

The outcome of the battle finally came to him; his loss. Navio's arms fell downwards, his blade following suit. A wave of emotions overcame him, mostly of irritation and shame. Although, due to his warrior instincts, he had steeled himself and managed to keep these distasteful emotions from showing in his next set of actions and overall expression.

He faced his opponent and reluctantly bowed, acknowledging his defeat.

"Perhaps you are right....maybe we'll do this again in the future."

The truth was that Navio was certain under different cirumstances, he'd of surely won. His confidence in this was not for show either; he truly believed it. He honestly had a thing against Jedi and the like, but he knew they were powerful in their own right and he gave a bit of respect towards it.

Despite being a sore loser inside (IC char), he'd walk away from this match with new gained experienced and knowledge. He'd surely learn from his mistakes and improve himself for the future.
