Round 1: Lord of Bones (Animus Malgus vs Asajj)

Location: Abandoned cathedral of bones

[member=Animus Malgus] vs [member=Asajj]
Yet another arena had been prepared for two Sith hopeful. This was their chance. Not only to prove their worth to themselves, but to any potential master who might bestow them favour. The attention of a Sith Lord could extend from anything to a one-time lesson to apprenticeship. Both were priceless. At the very least, honour and glory was theirs, and both could claim experience on the arduous path towards Knighthood.

Both found themselves inside a tightly sealed box, that was not for the claustrophobic. They had been transported to the arena like this, both equally oblivious to what their surroundings would look like once the door opened. The box had no windows, no light. Just darkness. Unfortunately, once one of the walls fell down, they were surrounded by darkness still. At least now they could move. Both found themselves on opposite sides, inside of a building. As they moved forwards, they would leave a dark hall, and step into the light of one large hall.

It was a cathedral, belonging to some religious cult that had either left long ago, or been evicted before all this. Light came through large, open windows that were high up. It was a tall building. Upon closer inspection, they would see what made up its constructions. The dead. Bones, skulls and other remnants of the once living became the foundation and structure for this rather macabre battlefield. The walls were built upon suffering, the occasional sculpture projecting this image further. It was a dark and twisted place they found themselves in. Who would walk out here victorious?

Ideally, they finished their little quarrel before it became dark. The dead were jealous, and desired more souls to become part of their ever growing community.

Walking steadily into the light and once he saw what the "Cathedral was made up of, he could not help but manage a smile... that smile quickly dissipated upon the sight of the... Human? Animus cared not. This was his first test, after some time in the academy he was brought here with no notice and put into that foul smelling box.... Smelled of death... was he next? Fear of death? .... No time for that.
Quickly he drew the Ancient Sith Relic that was his only weapon against his opponent. A Dull, Crude weapon, now more of an Ornament than a weapon... He had no fear as he walked towards his opponent.

"Finally... a challenge..." Animus murmured as he lunged with speed against his enemy. Blade tp first.

Asajj was less than happy with the transport to the arena, it felt too much like a coffin. Yet when she stepped into the light of the cathedral she felt no closer to being alive. Skulls and bones were everywhere, but she did not see them as the remains of people. Instead, she considered what use they could be as makeshift weapons should the need for one arise. Once her surroundings had been acknowledged, she turned her attention to her opponent. A manic grin grew on her face as she drew out her sith dagger. It was once her mother's, and so she would let it taste blood today in her name.

"You don't mess about." Asajj mused as she sidestepped the man's lunge. As a follow up, she grabbed his lunging arm with her left hand, then aimed a shallow cut to his stomach with the dagger in her right. She could have gone for a stab, but she wanted to have some fun first, despite being told never to play with her food...

Amazed by the quick movement of her sidestep to his Lunge he dove away at safe distance but the dagger sliced into his stomach, nothing serious.... but it was bleeding, and it was painful...
(Cut? By another trainee? In front of the eyes of the masters?) animus let himself think.... Unacceptable...
Rage built up inside Animus, Unfocused, Undisciplined, Untrained rage.
He blasted Through a Pile of Bones between himself and the Female using the force to blast away bones in all directions and holding his Relic Sword in his right hand above his head came crashing down with all the anger and hatred he could muster.

"Prepare to feel the might of the Dark side!!" Animus Raged as he came down from the attack Sword high and posture for the attack. Attack attack attack, Lunge, hit, dice, slice, Roll. Always on the offensive Animus' Attack pattern is a broken and unbalanced Juyo. Pure Offensive.

"I already feel it, clothface." Asajj taunted, noticing how the man covered his face. Maybe he was ugly? Either way, he was definitely angry. Her agile figure allowed her to dodge Malgus' sword crashing down, giving her his arm to have a slice at. Yet again she aimed for a very shallow cut on his upper arm, before moving herself with the same impressive speed she usually exhibited to position herself behind him. "You need to open your attacks, stabbing and slamming means you're aiming at the thinnest parts; easier to dodge. You need to," Asajj paused her talk, as she lunged forward again, this time aided by the force to improve her effectiveness, and weaved herself around the man's sword arm, slicing with her dagger at the side of his chest opposite the arm with which he held his weapon. "Slice..." Hopefully he wouldn't be able to move his arm in time to block, and her attack would succeed. However, it left her dangerous close to him, but even then she had the better weapon for such close fighting. With this in mind, she whispered in his ear. "Slice..." A twisted grin followed. Was she crazy, putting herself in such a position?

Of course...

Pain rushed through his arm and chest as each slice of the dagger cut into his skin. Every cut and every drop of Blood increased his Anger and uncontrollable emotions. He remembered the teaching, sure he did, Controlled anger, focused emotions, but he simply could not focus with this woman or... whatever flying around him and dodging his every move... frustration took hold.. Suddenly as she whispered something he could not possibly hear not because of volume but because he was only focused on her twirling dagger, she dashed impossibly fast, impossibly strong. His Arm was not fast enough to block the strike, he figured that she would slice at him and move back out or his range yet again... Maybe it was an insane idea what he was going to do... but instinct and brash action took a hold of him.. that and Blinding Anger and Hatred...

She stepped inside to slice at his left chest making it impossible for him to be quick enough to block the strike... so he took the strike and stepped in as well. put his sword behind her as she lunged at him, the dagger digging deep into his chest causing excruciating pain... Delightful Agony.

Before she could pull away he grabbed a hold of her pulling her closer and closer plunging the dagger into his own chest while Cackling like a maniac, Blood dripping from his Now very open Chest Womb and Stomach region and upper arm.

While Laughing maniacally he slammed his Forehead against her nose driving her back, his black hood flying off revealing a very grim and furious Visage.. but the dagger was still embedded into his chest.

He looked at her.. and with a howl of pain that appeared to shake the very hall of bones he removed the dagger from his chest which caused blood to gush out, and threw it at her feet...
Animus was Losing blood quickly, he did not feel the pain and was now... Focused. Pain, agony and the certainty of death put him in an Survival stance... Primal, but now In control of his emotions...
He faked to the left, the struck with his sword to the right, then rolled to her right and dipped a stab from below and arching forward now in a more balanced Stance... not due to any particular training... but to sheer will to survive.

"This is not over yet Damn you!" Animus Howled in Rage as he stepped in with a thrust and Twirl.
Focusing the Force on to his Blade tip as he thrusted again this time he dipped and executed a Sweeping Low Kick, Twirled and thrusted upwards.

"Agghhh..." The gurgling sound came from Asajj as she recoiled backwards from the headbutt, the result of which was a gushing waterfall of blood. Her left hand came up to stem it's flow, whilst her right used the force to bring the dagger from her feet back into her grasp. "Now we're getting somewhere..." Even more than a grin came from her this time, she was laughing now. Like a mad hyena, the girl seemed to be amused by her own pain. "Let's dance, clothface!" Her high-pitched voice rang out as Malgus came to attack her again. His fake attack did little to fool her, and she managed to catch his arm on the real attack to prevent it from doing her damage. However, it was his roll that caught her off-guard, the stab from which cut along her lower right leg. She did not scream in pain, instead grimaced while turning around to face her opponent with a continuing laugh.

"No it's not over..." A pause for her to laugh more, as if she couldn't control it and had to let it happen. "Not for me atleast..." The man came in with a thrust, but by the time his sword reached her position it cut nothing but air. Asajj was above him now, having leaped upwards to latch onto the wall, around 10 feet above the ground. Skulls had holes conveniently shaped for fingers, and bones acted just like steps on a ladder. Blood from her leg wound dripped down onto the bones beneath, but atleast her laugh had stopped flowing. "Can you jump this high, clothface? Or has your training not advanced that far yet?" Asajj's voice dripped with mockery as she stared down upon the man. With her height advantage she truly did wonder whether he could make it without submitting his arms to a climb. Such a possible opportunity couldn't be wasted...

Through the force, Asajj reached out to the man's mind, easily managing to sense his sheer rage directed at her. Yet through this she aimed to see whether she could exploit his blindness. Being focused on her meant he might not be too focused on himself, if at all. Through her training on dominating minds, she began trying to work her way into his mind. The pain from her wound and the heat of the duel fueled her to push as mentally hard as she could, but if she got in she did not intend to take control over him in any way. No... that would be too hard for the mind of even an Acolyte at her level... Instead, she would try to force images, ideas and sounds into his head. The crunching of bones, the voices of the dead; she tried to recreate the dead coming back to life all around him. All whispering the golden word. "Surrender..."

Whether it worked or not was down to his mental strength, but if she did manage to break through, paranoia might take grasp.

Animus now began to enjoy the fight. Aside from the grievous Injuries he was not tired, but in Pain. His vision blurred somewhat, perhaps due to loss of blood but he could still see his enemy at top the skulls a full length of his body above.
He noticed she did not pick up her dagger. If animus was angry before he was enraged now but with purpose... Insulting...
"You think you can defeat me with just the high ground Bantha fod..."
"surrender..."
"What was
that?.." Animus Mumbled to himself
Looked back to his enemy but she was no longer there, or if she was he could not see her... Just a picture of his home... with his family... everything as it Used to be. The prairie land of the Malgus family, Lake as far as the eye can see. They Beckoned to him... he saw them closer now.... he saw them... he saw them smile and beckon home "Surrender Animus...Come Home" .... "Surrender...."

"This... cant... be real..." Animus Murmured as each memory came as an Electric Shock migraine He growled in defiance clenching his sword with both hands so hard he wanted to snap it in two "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!" Animus Used the Force on the Image, Used all the Hatred and Anger he could Muster upon the Very images. Using the Force to destroy them, and his anger to focus back on reality.

Snapping out of it, the Pillar of bones, was his target. And The Pillars Bone structured snapped and cracked the Bones beneath the pillars.

Animus his concentration... "If i can't reach the Bird....let's make it crash down" Laughing as he enforced the anger and hatred to break the Base of the Pillars.

It worked. Her first, albeit tiny, step into the power of illusion and trickery. Malgus managed to expel the thoughts from his mind, but it seemed they had proved pretty effective in their duration. His rage had increased tenfold, building up each time she provoked him. Now he was using it to bring her down, breaking the bone pillars that supported the wall. She went with it, allowing herself to fall down towards him. About half way down she revealed her attack, extending the hidden blade from her right wrist. In anticipation of any attack that would meet her on the way down, particularly from his sword, she held her dagger across her chest, ready to parry a strike from below.

After hopefully glancing past Malgus' attack, her aim would turn to shoving her hidden blade into his left shoulder whilst pinning him down on his back; a strike she felt confident would force him to surrender, even if it meant she had to twist the blade around while it was in there. Throughout it all she wouldn't say a word, just grin in his face.

The blast of Force sent Bones flying around, so Animus did not see the Woman Flying towards him Blade in hand. Blade? But... How!?
No time to wonder animus attempted to dodge but to no avail, her aim turned, Animus did not expect that turn. The Blade now sank into his shoulder and pushed him down.
The pain was Excruciating but animus knew he needed to power out of it, he needed this woman off his back or else he would die. He tried to shake away but as he struggled the blade twisted and Gnashed into his left shoulder. He would not be using the shoulder again in this fight. The Tendons were Slashed. Animus roared in pain in search for a solution, the blade sank deeper and deeper into his shoulder. "You want a piggy Back ride?" Animus Gnashed his teeth as the Dagger twisted again. "Let's go for a ride then!"
With a roar of defiance and and Anger Animus Somersaulted forward dipping his body into a ball in the air and grabbing on to the Woman so she would come along for the spin, using what little focus he could muster to make sure he could do the Spin in the air and Crash down using his Enemies Head to break his fall.

Her strike landed deep, penetrating his shoulder. Not only did it leave a nasty hole, but her twisting of the blade left the inside rather worse for wear. She was working her opponent down, it was only a matter of time before he gave in, or died. Either way, she would be victorious. However, it seemed he wanted to put up one last fight. A futile attempted to turn the tides in his favor. She did not intend to let this happen. Within moments she found herself spinning in the air, about to land headfirst onto the hard, bone-ridden ground. From her master's teachings she called upon the force, channeling it into the structure of her head. By the time it reached the floor, it was strong enough to break the bones beneath, leaving her skull intact. A slight daze crept over her after the impact, but she pressed on in her efforts nonetheless.

Her dagger was still stuck in the man's shoulder, and being gripped by him, but her other hand was left free to bring across to his neck. With this hand came the hidden blade, which extended across his throat in a threatening position.
"Playtime's over. Your last chance to surrender, clothface." Asajj's crude grinned remained, even through the pain from both her leg and head, which seemed to slowly creep over her whole body.

Animus Thought for sure that the impact would knock her out or at least Shake her off, but after the Impact he himself initiated everything seemed to go black. The pain in his shoulder was gone, the Blade had dug too deep inside the Tendons and left it numb. He felt the cold of a blade in his throat and the offer of surrender. But it was a whisper in his ear now, seemed like a dream. The Loss of blood was too great, he wanted to keep fighting but he had lost too much blood, with his left hand which was the hand whose shoulder boasted a gaping hole in the back he touched his chest where there was an open womb and felt the sticky wet substance of blood. The last thing animus saw was the blurred image of his hand over his face drenched in blood.
Animus Coughed and laughed at his Enemy with pure will he managed to say "Surrender? ha! what do you take me for? a Jed..." he slumped down head smacking the bone floor hard. He was unconscious, he had lost way too much blood. If not Medically attended soon, he was a gonner. But for now, Animus Wisped off to sleep... that was going to hurt in the morning, if there was a morning.

"Aha! Ahahahaha! Yes! Yes!" Asajj slumped backwards on the blood-soaked bones, rejoicing in her victory whilst her opponent remained unconscious. The hidden blade retracted into her bracer, whilst her right hand removed the dagger from Animus' shoulder. As she pushed herself up and away from his limp body, she noticed the extent of his injuries. There was little remorse or worry in her eyes, she knew the masters would come and collect his impotent hind. For a second she thought of plunging her blade into him once more, one last time. No one would know she did it unnecessarily, and she would feel the pleasure of taking life once again. However, she decided against it. As much as it would please her, she knew there was little reason to do it.

She would be a Sith, and as much of a competitive order it was, needlessly taking each other's lives would achieve nothing.
Was this her maturing, or simply becoming smarter? She hated the former, but feared it was true. With her skin soaked in the blood of both her and her enemy, she looked up to the window that gave the cathedral light. Gathering the force for one last time, she leaped up to it, making her exit and leaving Animus' for the cleanup crew...
