Allied Squadron of Six Marines
Outnumbered and Outgunned
The situation has became increasingly dire, each exchange of blaster bolts would leave another man down as it seemed to never end. With the final six members of the Marines held down on the bridge, all hope seemed to have been lost until the siren would go off on the Pursuit Cruiser and the sudden arrival of Emergence Empire ships on both flanks showed up which surpisenly the entire cruiser did not open fire in response though it was understandable, the bridge was under attack and many of their forces were trying to repel a boarding party. With their uglies deploying from the hanger bay, they were quickly shot down by many interceptors to their surprise. As the soldiers marched towards the hanger bay to repel the new boarding parties, it was all for naught as these men were much more trained than Gakis own pirate crew, slaughtering them down in droves.

On the Emergency Bridge, Captain Gaki would notice the boarding party sweeping through, taking care of the enemy pirates in droves as he and his pilot assistant started to crack into other blast doors, allowing them quick access through areas and when the repeater was set up, opened up the hallway all the way down to the end to have maximum effect, slaughtering in droves more of the pirate crew. There would be an announcement over the intercomn system as it was almost deafening as blaster fire would most likely drown out most of his words.

"To all pirates not of mine on board! This is Captain Gaki! You are out numbered and out weaponized! The cruiser is surrounded! Surrender now or be destroyed!"

On the Main Bridge, the arrival of the Sith Lord was more than obvious due to the amount of lightning that filled up onto the bridge, killing off many of the enemy soldiers as Gakis Pirates would back off just slightly, allowing him the lead while also providing covering fire, allowing him to pick his targets. While the Gaki Pirates were known for being rather unorthodox in their methods, they understood the chain of command when they saw it and having big red glow sticks was the obvious "I Am In Charge" statement. The enemy Captain of the ship would charge after the Sith Lord, brandishing his knife towards him as it would be like a viroblade but obviously had never experienced the presence of the Sith Lord though would soon most likely learn.

Graw thrashed around on the ground with the five guards. He grabbed one arm in his jaws and neatly severed the appendage with a single hard bite of his mighty jaws. With his right hand he grabbed the throat of another guard and started to slam that guards head on the ground repeatedly. Two of the five guards were able to disentangle themselves from the karkarodon and ran away from the engagement, the vision of the shark-man spitting out their comrades’ arm being too much for their courage to bear.

As if he was throwing a rag doll around, Graw turned and with a heave of his shoulders, threw the now stunned guard he had been braining at the fifth guard just as the Chiss was raising a rifle towards him. The guard’s unplanned flying tackle of the gunman threw off the aim of the rifle, sending the bolt mercifully into the now one-armed man who was still screaming and staring at what was left of his half-eaten appendage. This ended the man’s screams as he developed a third eye just above his normal two, this one smoking due to the blaster bolt that created it.

Following up on the throw, Graw was on the heap of two guards just as the rifleman was able to disentangle himself. Graw roared a challenge as he dove at the Chiss, taking him in a tackle and bearing him to the ground. Graw landed on top of the Chiss and straddled him, punching him in the face multiple times until the Chiss warrior lay still. Graw then grabbed the second warrior who had been pinned beneath Graw and his punching bag, by the sides of his head and twisted hard. Graw heard bones crack in an awful popping sound and the warrior went limp, his neck broken.

Rising from the scrum of dismembered and broken bodies, Graw ran to follow Malicar and the other members of the Black Sun delegation. Their ride home was rolling in and he did not want to get left watching the paint dry.

“Zentripoli understands that ‘gentle’ is a conceptual haze for your limited heuristic processor, but allowing Zentripoli to fall on Zentripoli’s head, which also possesses exposed brain matter, Zentripoli might add, does not fall under any variation of ‘gentle’ or ‘with care’…”

The diminutive Columi continued to lay resting on his head after the droid rolled him out of his cockpit. His big black eyes looked over with his head following to look straight up. Like all Columi, Zentripoli did not have the use of his arms or his legs. His limbs had long since atrophied since his birth. All that was life was the overabundance of brainpower. In truth, the Columi did not even have to voice his commands to the droid that served as his power armor. Mentally, Columi were able to control droids with but a thought. Alas, Zentripoli was in the habit of talking, so the droid got an earful with his strange third person sentence structure.

“Let us attempt this process again without mishap. Zentripoli is certain this concept is not lost to ZDT-417.”

HCXlJiK.png

The droid nodded and gently scooped up the Columi by the head first and with its other hand, scooped up the rest of the Columi’s small, limp body. With deft precision, the Columi was spun around, facing the the same way the droid was and he was gently placed in the cockpit of the ZDT-417.

“You see? Zentripoli knew that your logic circuits were not damaged and that you could manage simplistic physical manipulation. Perfect. Let us be off then…”

The cockpit sealed the Columi in and the ZDT-417 began to walk over to the cargo ramp. Zentripoli’s helmet was affixed over his head, which was hardwired to the droid. With the Columi able to access all the sensors of the droid, the small Columi began to “drive” the droid mentally. The ZDT-417 moved with an eerie grace that made it clear this droid was different from the thousands of other ZDT-415 Battle droids.

Zentripoli went through the factory with a keen eye on optimal layouts for droid and ship construction. In the end, he knew that he would have to have an orbital shipyard for maximum efficiency on capital ship production.

“417, contact Rako Eclipse--we will need a loan...”

With the combined might of Gaki's pirates and the Eternal Empire's troops, the tide of battle quickly turned, much to the misfortune of the Alpha Skulls. An offer was made by the Black Suns-alligned captain. If the Alpha Skulls had any functioning neurons left in their brains, they should take it and surrender. The Black Suns' new imperial friends were not known for showing mercy or giving quarter, usually leaving naught but mangled corpses in their wake. And until the Alpha Skulls decided to see reason, the imperials would continue to sweep from deck to deck, quick, precise bursts from their weapons dispatching enemies as they went.

Some Alpha Skulls tried to barricade themselves behind doors and hatches, trying desperately to evade the swiftly advancing soldiers or set up feeble ambushes and traps along the way. But the Alpha Skulls were mere pirates, used to fighting freighter crews, not some of the most well-equipped and disciplined soldiers in the galaxy. Their feeble attempts at putting up a resistance, would do them no good in the end.

Although a few soldiers fell, the small battles taking place throughout the ship, were pretty one-sided. The imperials made short work of any barricades or locked doors, breaching charges swiftly dispatching whatever obstacles lay in their path. Themselves equipped with fully-sealed suits of armor, they dug the pirates out of their foxholes with poison gas grenades, only to finish them off with blaster fire. Those that still lived, would find themselves with a bayonet stuck in their chests.

Over on the bridge, another tale of desperation was unfolding. The Alpha Skulls captain, perhaps in a panic, perhaps in ignorance, or in alcohol-addled state of mind, drew a knife of sorts and charged straight at the Emperor. Brave, but stupid. So very, very stupid.

The Sith Lord raised a hand and flicked a clawed finger, as if tugging on an invisible string and the enemy pirate captain stopped in his tracks. Lifted up by an invisible hand, he began to desperately claw at his throat, fighting for each breath as the life was being choked out of him. The Sith Lord's lips parted, letting out words in a gravelly voice. "You insolent, pathetic little insect," he said, golden cat-like eyes studying his captive with curiosity. "Did you think you can take on a Lord of the Sith with a mere knife? Or, perhaps, you have a death wish and want to end your life at the end of a blade."

"Whether that was your intention, or not, I shall grant you your wish," he spoke, having decided the Alpha Skulls captain's fate. "Death by the sword it is."

With that, one of the floating lightsabers sprung across the room, spinning as it went. In the blink of an eye, the Alpha Skulls captain was cut into over twenty pieces.

The twi'lek's stance was thrown off as she disengaged one light saber to use the wielding hand to cover her mouth, the other saber still twitched and twirled in the path of an offending blaster bolt but the ex-jedi found it considerably difficult to keep her breakfast where it lay as she witnessed the ferocity of Graw in action, gnawing and severing limbs of the chiss enemies with his jaws and brutal strength. She knew members of the Black Sun were cavalier, unscrupulous and perhaps even cruel but such barbarism turned all but the most stone set of stomachs. Despondent to life and all its disappointments as she was, this was not something her eyes or stomach had become desensitized too.

A stray belch of bile escaped passed her lips before she turned away, the menacing figure ripping shreds through the guards forces had drawn most of their ire which made it less taxing for her to deflect blaster bolts with one hand before she composed herself, the orange saber in her off head howling to life once again to catch any stray bolts that the other saber managed to miss. While she didn't look, she could hear and sense the approaching vessel, the "escape plan" veering closer to their position. Not a moment too soon she thought to herself.

Making her way to the beginning of the Shadow Hammer's ramp, she provided cover for those still making their way or trying to board the vessel, as the only one present that was capable of deflecting blaster bolts back at the rogues now assailing them she stood her ground by the ramp and waited for the rest of Malicar's retinue to venture to the vessel before she'd opt to board it last, the enemy forces were growing and shrinking in number in the chaos of the ambush. Malicar's uncle hadn't too grossly underestimated the resolve of the young crime lord and his entourage. She hazard a guess he wouldn't make the same mistake twice...

End Game
The enemy captain would been lifted up and sliced into many pieces, as if it was not more baseless as it was, Gaki would have hit a replay button over the monitors and had it broadcast over the Pursuit Cruiser as the fighting would almost become a standstill as people threw down their weapons and surrendered rather quickly. The clattering of metal hitting the ground so quickly was something to be amazed, as if a single action can inspire an entire crew to surrender all at once. Captain Gaki would see the door finally get blown in but when it did, slowly one by one, a member of the rival pirate band held their hands behind their heads and moved forward, asking for mercy. Slowly, Captain Gaki would go over the intercomn as Gakis own men would slowly disperse and head towards the Emergency Bridge as the fighting became a standstill.

"Whoever you are, you have my eternal gratitude for coming to me in my hour of need. Should you require assistance at any time, don't hesitate to call it in. As for me right now, I have to get my men back to the Marauder for extensive repair work. Keep the cruiser...we don't even have the man power to keep it running plus...honestly have no idea how to clean that much blood out of a single place."

With that, there be a loud crackle as the intercomn system would be turned off as his own men slowly surrounded Captain Gaki as it became in sudden realization how bad this had become as there was a long stare also outside the Pursuit Cruiser, realizing the damage. Almost all their pilots were dead, their support freighter was destroyed and their own Marauder was disabled which along with it, laid to rest many other pilots, freighters and disabled corvettes as they gently floated across the empty voids of space. Shaking hands with some of his men and sometimes hugging them for their thanks, he would let go and nod as they would slowly take their march all the way back to the hanger to take one of the Pursuit Cruisers shuttles that were left behind, a rather old looking one but still functional as the six marines, the lone pilot and Captain Gaki would slowly board one and head back towards the Marauder-Corvette "Reborn" with their transponders reading of the Black Sun. Behind them, all seated with some form of restraint was a few prisoners they ran into that said they would be more than willing to join his crew if they give them a chance. Captain Gaki was weary of his twelve near crewmen but he needed them, now more than ever, even if they could kill him tomorrow morning.

After several minutes of transit flight, they would soon arrive in the now barren hanger of the Marauder-Corvette "Reborn" where several crew members have gathered, awaiting their return. Opening the side door, they group would come out along with their prisoners as they shuffled forward with a few of their marines they left behind guarding them as there was some information they wanted to tell him, Gaki looking side to side as they looked anxious.

"Something you all want to tell me?"
"How will we rebuild? Our fleet is gone, everything we have is gone...our brothers...sisters...gone."
"Everyone...come to the bridge, I shall show how we will rebuild."

There was a murmur as Captain Gaki strode past them, slowly walking up the stairs as the turbolift was currently out due to the reactor being blown though they still had emergency power for a few days. As they walked upwards, they would arrive on the bridge pretty quickly as the consoles were already being repaired as the communications console was in most use, holding older ear pieces up as they talked to some portions of Black Sun to announce their success and talk through some of the Emergence Empire channels. Looking out towards the star field, he would point out directly as the field of debris before them with a thunderous voice of confidence.

"There is our future...that field of debris. We claim all in it as our salvage. Why? Because I know what the metals will bring in, what our future will show once more. Those two DP Twenties out there? There is enough parts between them to rebuild it completely, to have our own! There is a freighter out there still that was just knocked out, waiting for a full repair! Whatever is left, we will sell in salvage rights, after of course we collect our dead. Till then, I see nothing but a good future ahead of us...worst case, we will sell the DP Twenty as our reward, around two point five million credits if we get it all working. Enough for this Reborns repair, new starfighters, crew replenishment, buying another Solo Two Combat Freighter and getting that other freighter up and running again. We have our future, this is how we will rebuild for we are eternal, we are pirates. We will always survive and claw back up to where we should be and once we do, nothing can ever stop us. Men...women...let us forget today and mourn in silence for tomorrow, we shall start rebuilding our future!"

There was a small roar of approval as Captain Gaki gave a wide smile, it was a forced one but he had to be the one to lift the spirits of his crew. He always had a way with words since he was a child and here, it worked out the best. As people started to disperse, Captain Gakis smile slowly faded away as he turned to look out towards the debris field, watching the ships slowly coast to the side in silence as he reflected todays battle and more so, tomorrows attempt at new life. All the while, the communications officer stood up to report that Refueling Station Number #19 had finally surrendered to Black Sun forces, being one of the most heavily defended stations in the entire system. It did nothing to alleviate Gakis grim mood, only giving a curt nod as the stars before them dimmed and faded to black.

The roar of the Dark Remnant’s ion drives and the large red bolts hurtling towards the entrance of the dome was the indications that Malicar needed to make haste to the Shadow Hammer waiting for them on the landing pad. His pilot had already lowered the cargo ramp and had spun up the turret atop the modified light freighter. As long as no stray shots found their mark or nothing else was added to this foray, the crimelord was pleased that all of his number, at least the ones he knew, were going to escape this ambush.

A tactical retreat made its way to the Shadow Hammer, whether it was the deflecting of bolts by Bal or the hurling of Chiss by Graw, they worked together methodically to make it up the ramp to the Shadow Hammer as the ramp began to raise behind them.

House Vesnam would exile him and the rest of the Raith family now. Criminal charges would be fabricated by the Syndic of House Vesnam and they would never be able to freely return to the Chiss Ascendancy. But this is not what bothered the Black Sun Underlord Eshro—it was those that he knew would be murdered this night across the galaxy—those who were loyal to him and Eclipse Consortium. For this transgression, Malicar already knew that vengeance would be a thing for him in the future. On the same hand, he would have to be cautious. Syndic Okunn had underestimated Malicar and his allies with the trap they sprang. Like any cunning Chiss, he would learn from this and not underestimate them again.

Regardless, Eclipse Consortium would never be the same. In fact, he could slowly feel them being absorbed into Black Sun, through and through…

Azulas Shag

"Why do I always get shot. Why. Why me. Every time." Azulas would groan, Tigris would de-cloak, and wander over, nuzzling into Azulas chest affectionately. "Listen you oaf." Azulas would groan, bringing up his unbloodied hand to dig into the animal's mane, gently rubbing behind his ears much to Tigris' enjoyment. "Alright. Help me up." he'd groan as Tigris would walk a little further, allowing Azulas to steady himself on the animal and raise himself up, bringing his revolver up as he scans the room. Oberon was no doubt guarding an entrance to the room, ready to pounce on anyone unfortunate enough to run in. Yet, it seemed that either there were no more pirates in the station or that the smart ones were waiting for him. He was really not in any situation to go to them, so he'd need to find a way to flush them out. Looking around Azulas would find some tubing, hook it up to the gas burners of the stoves, and stick the tubing through the doors leading further into the station, proceeding to close the doors and begin pumping gas. They would come to him, or they would die.

The first few who smelled the gas began pouring in, meeting a quick fate by his revolvers as he is now stationed behind the counter leading out to the main entrance and diner. Oberon would reappear and tackle another as Azulas would reload, this firefight would continue for a few more minutes a few more pirates meeting their death before Azulas would groan, throw a thermal detonator, and watch the whole inside of the station be filled with a firey inferno. He'd rush out to his ship, his two companions following suit. He'd dismantle the system to lock the door as the ship departs, so as he does the atmosphere would vent from the station putting out the fires. The Black Sun could always clean up the station later, he barely broke it after all.

Going room to room after facing the special guard droids was a procedural, albeit dangerous affair. The pirates were quick to retreat or surrender but they left behind a lot of traps and droids set to kill anyone they came across. On at least two occasions the pirates almost managed to blow the entire facility into smithereens. One by accident, starting a fire near the main tanks, and the other when a group of fleeing pirates attempted to detonate charges they had placed on the tanks. Thankfully they were defused in time, and the little refueling outpost had working fire suppression systems.

There was a slightly newer situation developing on the outside now, however. A new pirate group, one that had been attempting to take the refueling station before was now approaching in an effort to make use of the aftermath and take the station themselves. At best he had a handful of mercenaries to help him defend this place. Gad had some back-up in orbit but they would need some time to land. And these pirates were already landing outside. Wonderful.

"I want two me at the entrances of each landing pad, I'll take Kal and secure the Northwestern landing pad." Gad ordered. The rest of the team acknowledged and split up to the Eastern and Southwestern landing pads. When Gad and Kal arrived, they managed to watch as the pirates landed on the pad with an absolute piece of junk. One pirate sprayed wildly at the entrance with a heavy blaster rifle while the rest jumped out of the junk speeder.

"Die Halkon Scum!" One of the pirates yelled, referring to the pirate group who had been here originally. Gad wondered just how little intelligence they were working with. It was likely they thought that Halkon had too many defenses to have been the ones defeated. Gad also wondered just how many times they've attacked this refueling station in the past.

Kal retrieved a stun grenade from one of the deceased pirates from earlier and was about to throw it out into the open before a voice erupted from within the speeder. "STOP! GET BACK INSIDE! THOSE ARE NOT HALKON THEY'RE BLACK SUN!"

Gad and Kal didn't hesitate, they popped out and charged the pirates catching all of the ones who had gone out into the open off guard and charged into the vehicle. The vehicle crew panicked and took off, leaving the rest of the pirates who jumped out on the platform. They didn't surrender but didn't have much of a chance against Gad and Kal.

"Well that was anti-climatic," Kal said, to which Gad simply chuckled and started heading back inside.

For many hours, Malicar simply stared out of the Dark Remnant's viewport. While Black Sun had wrestled control of Orindia and Varl, it was not without cost or without an understanding of the assets and coordination that went into such endeavors. Now that his ties with the Chiss Ascedancy were tenuous, the Eclipse Consortium would never again hold the influence they once had with Ruling Houses or any other houses for that matter...especially House Vesnam. In a small way, he was proud of his Uncle finally stepping up and carving his own fate. It took him long enough, but maybe there was some silver lining in this. For example, despite his status with the House Vesnam, the shipping contracts between the Chiss Ascendancy and Interstellar Shipping were still intact. It simply would mean others would need to go in his stead when face to face meetings were needed.

He knew that his family was a bit lost within Black Sun. His family had depended on House Vesnam for centuries. But Malicar was a survivor, so massive changes to his existence were something that needed to be explored for the opportunity within--certainly not as stumbling blocks. But he had felt his family drifting...eventually, they would probably strike out on their own and go their own path. It was a decision for the Raith family to make. Malicar would always have a place for them within Black Sun, but they may not see such a place as their lot in life. The Underlord Eshro now understood that setting his sights on Hutt Space alone was limited in scope. In order for Black Sun to flourish, truly flourish, then they needed to be at the forefront of the criminal underworld. The galaxy already knew they were serious by the control they exercised in Hutt space, but something more was truly needed.

For the moment, Malicar resigned himself to take this victory today...the victory came in the form of survival and a clear mind for what was ahead for Black Sun
