With the lack of a method of utilizing organic technology to be "Brains" for droids, and other technology, Viridian realized that such was indeed possible. Due to this, he researched. First, he researched the human brain as well as the brains of numerous other species in order to learn how they worked. Upon succeeding in the research, he was able to create a synthetic organic brain. From there, it was the matter of modifying the brain enough to be of use for his intended purposes. Learning that information could be downloaded into a brain with electrochemical transfers, he utilized that method to program the brains with information that he required.
Still, alterations needed to be done. Due to this, he learned about the species that were able to employ telepathy and pheromones as a means of communication. Both were deemed useless by him because they lacked any way to have a long range data transfer, and many features the Holonet offered for the user. This irked him to say the least, and so his research continued in order to make these able to fulfill their intended purpose. He continued researching, and decided that with some proper adjustments - telepathy could make a proper method of communicating. Granted, it would have to be secured more than what normally could be done with such. Due to that, he worked on the Root Class Brain Module for that purpose.
This was not the only intended use of a brain module - it was made to be the intelligence of a droid-like entity. It was also made to serve as the operating system, or OS of organic spaceships he planned on creating.

- Kill the Connection, Kill the Brain: If it is in a symbiotic relationship with anything, killing that would kill this.
