Hey man, welcome to the Community.
There's a pretty diverse group of players across the board and a variety of factions you can get involved in depending on what sort of character you're looking to kick off your start to Chaos RP.
As far as a Timeline goes there is this thread here, it will give you the rough idea of years that have passed though we don't pay too much attention to time in regard for everyone's growth of characters and experiences being too vast to try to work alongside. The simplest way to think of it is that the universe is far beyond the Movies and the Expanded Universe (Books).
That same link describes a little bit about past Site-Wide arcs that our Staff have led us through and everyone's taken part in!
Where are you looking to start exactly, what sort of story and character would you like to play out. Give us a bit of an idea and we'll see if we can't better suggest the right faction and group that will suit you
