  • Chapter I

"How far are we from home, mother?"
    "This is home."
Rohak Vizsla and Kadala Vizsla upon their relocation in the Unknown Regions.

While most of clan Vizsla were born and bred on Wayland, some took the stars as sailors finding solace in the void of space rather than the jungles below. Such were Rohak Vizsla's parents - Rau Vizsla and Kadala Vizsla. When he was just five years old, Rohak's family ventured into the Unknown Regions seeking work in what they did best - hunting monsters, space monsters. Affiliating themselves with the Lords of the Fringe, the family found plenty of work in the fearsome unknown.
"Get your additional oxygen suppliers on and meet me at the hangar." Rau ordered storming by his sons and daughter.
"You can't be serious, buir. Personal harpoons aren't gonna work, it's too big." Shev, the eldest of the four grasped his father's shoulder but the other jerked it away.
"Hit it with the ship's 'poon and we're surely going to damage the cargo we are getting. No, it's decided."
"Mother, this is insane, you cannot be serious with father, right?"

But only grim silence in reply.

"I know we need this job but come to your senses, please. This is not going to go the way you think it is." Shev's plea fell on deaf ears one more.
"Mirax, get on the Harpoon. We'll yank it out and you'll shoot it. You've got the best aim out of this band of shebs of brothers you've got." A brief smirk hidden beneath Rau's helmet as he and Kadala hurried down towards the hangar."
    "Buir-"
"There's no point in arguing, Shev. We have to do as we're told. Let's get going." Arrik's hand fell on his brother's shoulder assertively.

Witnessing your parents devoured by a creature of a nightmare in one bite breaks something in your mind for life.
Rohak grew up into his teens and through them only among his brothers and sister roaming the mysterious fringes exterminating monsters and getting paid. As the youngest by far, he felt distanced from his siblings becoming more introverted and closed to himself. With the disbanding of the Lords of the Fringe and the appearance of governments capable of keeping their space lanes safe, work became thinner and the Mandalorian siblings were forced to return to Manda'yaim where a storm was brewing. Ra Vizsla.
His call echoed through millions of star systems calling all the Sons and Daughters of Mandalore to return and join him under the banner of a crusade promising loot and glory. The Mandalorians' DNA. Just a young adult then, Rohak and his siblings ventured into war against the Republic. The T-visor helmets thundered unto Kashyyyk with no remorse.
"This is insaneeeee!!" Shev's yell came through the comms as the siblings jettisoned from a Mandalorian cruiser's airlock with their jets propelling them like missiles towards a Republic frigate.
"Oya, vod, oya!!!!" Mirax happily cried out creating unneeded static through the comms.
"How does it feel, Roh'ika?" Arrik asked with a wide grin beneath his helmet.
    "It feels...I feel. Free."
"Back thrusters, boys." Came in Mirax and the siblings triggered their back thrusters drastically decreasing their velocity.

A flash of light blazed his visor and Rohak's heart stopped beating. Flak tore his brother Shev to pieces and severly damaged Rohak's jet sending him landing on the hull of the frigate much faster than he was supposed to breaking both of his legs and nearly his spine.

He found himself in the wheelchair for the next coming months. The dire situation and seeing his brother torn to pieces opened the gates of vices. Substantial amount of alcohol and drugs would become his mistress for the next years. They drove him away from Manda'yaim, the Mandalorians and from his siblings for when he found himself walking once more, Rohak was no longer the younger brother they knew. Driven by avarice to sustain his self-destructive way of life he became a privateer for the Galactic Alliance in their war against the First Order.

"Call Rohak on the bridge now. Maybe he'll understand what this Mandalorian dog's plan is." Captain Hefrik bellowed slamming the handle of his seat. Before him a Mandalorian and a petite armored girl. You could tell Hefrik wasn't happy the Alliance was shoving him new people to share his loot with but apparently they were needed. Needed his ass, if he had the final word.
The first thing he felt when Rohak laid his eyes upon the Mandalorian armor standing beside Hefrik - sour distaste in the mouth.

"That Alliance kark says we need these two cause they've got a plan to commandeer a heavy cruiser."
"A what?" Rohak shook his head in disbelief.
"Yes, a heavy cruiser of the First Order." Hefrik replied almost spitting to the side.
"You have to be insane, di'kut." Rohak pursed his lips.
"That's right. It's my middle name. Nice to meet ya. Kalad 'Insane, di'kut' Shysa." The Mandalorian introduced himself with a wide smirk before gesturing at the girl beside him. "Pike. Pike Alavar."
"Let's get to business." Alavar titlted her head and went straight to the point.

Much later on when the mantle of Mandalore was vacated after the end of the Mandalorian Civil War, a call reached him. If Ra Vizsla's roar was fire and fury, [member="Ronan Vizsla"]'s was the calm of the storm. It chilled the bones to their core. Nearly a dar'manda now, Rohak returned only because his Alor had helped him and his siblings' relocation on Wayland. It was a debt Rohak looked forward to pay.

"Yasha Mantis. I see you made yourself comfortable. Your claim is bold as is your assumption. Why should I accept you?" Ronan questioned with Vizsla behind him. Rohak and his siblings among them and his cousin [member="Tamara Wren"], which he was close to as a child before relocating to the Unknown Regions with his family.
"Alor Vizsla." Kryze cut in. "Your point is well made, the Alorultai has yet to gather and that is not yet her Throne - or anyone's Throne. But your presence and your manner is not. Which is no surprise, given you have the manners of a starving wolf gnawing at the bones Ra throws you." She gestured with one finger to the rest of the gathered alor. "Resume your place, lest your betters put you in it."
"Speak when spoken to, Kryze." A Fett ordered. "Sitting on that throne is a claim by itself."
"Silence," Vilaz Munin dominantly commanded "One stutter out of any of you, and I will have you removed,"

The voices doubled and then tripled, and Rohak did not follow them. His hand already tightened around his carbine.

"SILENCE THE HELL WOLF SPEAKS." Mantis barked from her throne and Rohaks' finger itched to pull the trigger twice at her but remained in place.

More and more chatter before Munin's arm surged upwards. A loud whistling tone was the last thing Rohak heard.

In a coma and saved by missionaries of an unknown religion and as both the old Alliance and First Order fell and the galaxy was thrown once more into turmoil due to the Third Imperial Civil War, business boomed. Without a port of call to home and the flames of the Second Great Hyperspace War torching the galaxy, Rohak sells his loyalty to the highest bidder - the Empire.
