The Lightsworn

The Lightsworn are militant Jedi disillusioned with the failures of the other Jedi orders to fight against the dark side. A reformation brews.

Rogue Lance - Lightsworn Story Plot Device Military Unit

I'm thinking after the Arkania GE/GA Invasion I can see who wants to form a named LS Strike Team with Kylass and we can RP Jedi Crusade Mission Skirmish Threads deep behind GE lines in Imperial Space. Me, two more LS Jedi Knights, and maybe if we can find someone to RP a NFU LS Trooper.

I would love to lead a Named Strike Team in the same fashion as Rogue Squadron and build IC lore about it through various skirmishes. Also do it with a dedicated small group of PC's (3-4 total me included) to build like a squad relationship ala Clone Wars Shows.

I've written out the concept as a Military Unit Lore Post. Once we have some threads under our belt for the unit I can submit it!

LIGHTSWORN JEDI STRIKE FORCE “ROGUE LANCE”

GENERAL INFORMATION
Army Name:
Rogue Lance
Classification: Lightsworn Jedi Strike Force
Affiliation: Jedi Lightsworn
Army Symbol: [See Above]
Description:
Creation and Doctrine
Bestowed with the moniker that harkens back to legendary forces such as the Rogue Squadron and the Army of Light, Rogue Lance, is an autonomously-commanded Lightsworn Jedi Strike Force. Unlike the small-personnel commando-operations focused Lightsworn Strike Teams, Rogue Lance is a slightly larger force with a dedicated starship and Non-Force-User combatant complement.

It is designed to be a permanent crusading strike flotilla and ground force that can rotate its composition of Lightsworn Jedi and NFU combatants as needed for specific missions in tours of service. That being said it still needs to remain an agile, flexible, and resource manageable outfit, therefore despite being called a Strike Force it in reality does not compare to anything greater than a company at full strength.

But what Rogue Lance lacks in numbers it makes up for in crusading zeal, devastating strikes, and agile evasion. It is the Lance to pierce the Heart of Darkness of the Imperial occupied Core, not a warhammer to smash against the armaments of an Empire.

As such Rogue Lance are allowed to autonomously roam deep into enemy territory and cause as much logistical, psychological, and material damage as possible to their Darksider foes. Creativity, ingenuity, strategy, and zeal are prioritized in Rogue Lance, as oftentimes, they are left to their own devices to execute their missions and get themselves out of any deep fight they engage in.

Command
The Lord Seneschal, Knight Sergeants, Knight Errants, and Oathsworn

The overall Commanding Officer of the Rogue Lance is the Lightsworn Jedi assigned its Lord Jedi Seneschal. The Seneschal is assisted by two Second-in-Commands, known as Jedi Knight Sergeants. The Knight Sergeants command the various Lightsworn Jedi Strike Teams adhoc created for each specific tour of service that Rogue Lance disembarks on.

Those Jedi that are assigned to Rogue Lance as Knight Sergeants are rotated so that all Lightsworn Jedi are given the chance to experience leadership and battle in the field. The only position that isn’t rotated is the Seneschal who remains Rogue Lance’s permanent C.O. Should the Seneschal be needed elsewhere one of the King Sergeants is temporarily made C.O. under the title of Lance Commander.

Under the command of Knight Sergeants are various Knight Errants, Jedi Knights that are junior in battlefield experience, and then the Oathsworn, Jedi Padawans. Together they contribute to the leadership and combat within Rogue Lance’s Jedi Strike Teams.

The Star Castellan and Mareshcale of the Swornguard
The Star Castellan is the NFU commander of all starships assigned to the Rogue Lance and command fleet actions while the Jedi Strike Force is deployed afield. With the Jedi is the Mareschale of the Swornguard, commander of all NFU Volunteer Troopers who assist the Jedi and are thus named as the Swornguard.

I love this!

I enjoy the thought of Silya making the transition from Imperial Knight-Errant to Lightsworn Knight-Errant, within this context, and it wouldn't be much of a stretch. She's one of the more light-leaning ones, and the way her former master is did rub off on her, and she is culturally Galidraani/Echani, so she's not some closed-off imperial zealot.

Skills/knowledge wise:
  • She is a trained fighter: lightsaber, TK, as well as Echani Martial Arts since the day she could walk, but I could see her taking on some Atrisian ways and swordsmanship the longer she sticks around.
  • She can be a healer, albeit a rough one: the affinity is nonetheless there, but she may smack you if you're hurt 'cause of your own idiocy, or if you're being an ass
  • She has technological knowledge: thanks to her mother's tutelage, she can do her own maintenance, but she is no technomancer like that parent of hers
  • She would still have things to learn: in matters of the Force, philosophy, etc, with the difference between where she's coming from and here
  • She comes pre-loaded with disgust/disdain for Sith/Darksiders and the Dark Side.
And lastly, she is a noble of House Aerin of Eshan, through her mother. Mind, she's never been to Eshan.

Outside of deployments/missions (which are a given!), I'm definitely open to things like:
  • People maybe not trusting her/wanting to pick a fight/whatever because she's still more imperial/imperial knight than anything else at this point
  • Also, friendly spars too, of course... please lol
  • Discussions around Jedi philosophy, how one approaches using the Force, learning entirely new stuff, etc. - being mentored by elders or peers, both would make sense, here... but I'm not overly fond of pure training threads. Really depends.
  • People simply getting to know her; identity for her as a bi-cultural person is feeling like she's both and neither, and trying to fit in, and she's only early 20s, so still figuring herself out
Just a few ideas, though I'm pretty chill and open to whatever, more or less~
