Roadmap for Future Stories

Friends, here we shall discuss our plans to achieve galactic domination and make whoever we don't like at the moment pay for it!


Ok...maybe it won't be that dramatic. But we can use this thread to discuss future stories for the Tygaran Alliance.


Immediate ones are the orc war arc and dealing with the aftermath of the Battle of Kaeshana. I don't see these two plots as separate, rather they reinforce one another. I have some ideas but I'd like to hear yours. I believe we should also have awards for those who participated in the Rebellion.

"An exploration team from the Firemane HQ travels to a foreign planet Terax II to look for different and stronger materials to use in the production of armor, weapons etc. after the unfortunate events recently. Things work fine first, however after a sharp, loud voice was heard, the communications between the team and the main base cut off, last thing heard being gunfire. To investigate what happened and evacuate the team, another group is selected.

There can be different objectives such as

-Look for clues to find the team.
-Look for materials
-(Go tame a Krayt Dragon ( *wink wink* [member="Elpsis Elaris"] )) Investigate the strange cave openings.
-Do your own thing

Here's a draft of the idea in my mind. Can add more objectives and story.

I talked to [member="Joza Perl"] about this briefly, I wanted to do development for special NPC forces tied to Kaeshana, for example the soldiers who Ludolf captured, blinded, and then branded with numbers or something before sending them back, we could heal them with cybernetics and form them into a unit called the Reforged or the Unbroken, something along those lines and then offer the same position to other soldiers grievously wounded in battle later on.

Also a unit of Kaeshana Eldorai who escaped with us during the retreat, some who are still active on Kaeshana as resistance fighters or sleeper cells, and some who over time escape off of it to join Tygaran Alliance and fight in hope one day they'll liberate their homeworld.

Losing at Kaeshana was a blow and a great disappointment after so much work.

However, it's over, and now we can move forward.

There are several stories I want to tie into this, as well as other stories we need to tie up.

• Rewards and an after-action thread for the survivors of Kaeshana. There's going to be a fair bit of blame and bad feelings IC.
• Some dev to get us some better tech for next time. I'll do a thread for that elsewhere, but I might get some folks to work with me on filling gaps in our armoury.
• A raid on Kaeshana, especially as now Kaine is trying to create orcs out of the few survivors.

The orc thread, whilst not needing to be restarted, could probably do with some rejigging considering Kaeshana happened before it, we have new people and some old people are no longer with us.

I'd also like to get the new folks involved in stories and get to know them more IC too.

Terax is a good location for an adventure and survival thread. Wolf creatures, Cathar, Krayt Dragons (and crystals) and sandstorms! Also a good place to set up a base and train special forces.

Yes, we should upgrade 'the Scarred' and turn them into the Reforged. Firemane shall pay for it. I also like the idea of developing an Eldorai equivalent of the Polish Home Army and the Free French Forces from WWII. Since we controlled the Citadel of Dusk throughout the entire Rebellion, I'm assuming we managed to evacuate the Eldorai who sought refuge with us.

Agree with those suggestions. [member="Joza Perl"] offered to make some awards for us. Do you have any ideas about how you'd like them to look like?


Raid on Kaeshana should definitely be on the agenda once things are more calm. Same applies to guerilla skirmishes with the FO. In that regard, we can work with Outback, SIS etc.


This all connectc neatly with something [member="Six-O"] suggested on Discord: Namely that we should focus less on mass armies in Rebellions/Invasions and more on small groups of PCs and elite NPCs and asymmetrical warfare. Mass armies, attrition warfare and so on have their place, but I think we could get a good score on teamwork that way. Not to mention the fact that it takes bloody long to write a decent post when you're running an entire legion...and time is a resource in threads like that.


We should pick up the orc thread again. I can whip up a summary of what transpired so far and we can see what needs rejiggling.


[member="Taryc Ap'Irae"], I think we talked about doing a thread about formally introducing and integrating Taryc into Firemane. I'd be down for that.


As for Kaeshana aftermath, yep, there will be a lot of blame and recriminations. We also had to deal with treason in the ranks in Firemane. Eldorai reactionaries and conservatives unhappy about foreign influence might end up trying something like the Boxer Uprising. And, without wanting to spoil too much, Siobhan will be a more grim character.

Looking at our member list, we got a bunch of Apprentices and Knights. I believe a mission on Terax could be a good training mission/adventure for them. Hunt a Krayt Dragon, get some crystals etc.


Also, we got the aftermath thread up, so we can use this thread to discuss things if someone is lost. I believe we'll be splitting up in small groups soon to fulfil different tasks in it.
