Description: The Liberty Frigate was developed for patrols situations where the ability to deploy and support numerous fighter craft is crucial to success, such as for patrols of a system with limited to non existent friendlies. This ship can hold nearly two dozen fighters deep inside its heavy hull, safe from enemy capital weaponry. Huge docking bays allow it to dispatch fighters quickly - or recall them if hostile forces are prevailing. Already possessing a reputation despite its limited initial circulation, the Liberty is a powerful carrier platformed designed to participate in extended patrol operations with little to no allied support. Following in the footsteps of Sentinel Initiative vessels , the Libery relies on varied and modular weapons systems, rather than dedicated system to see it through operations, blending launchers and turrets to provide for a powerful, well-rounded combat vessel. Having long suffered the lack of an adequate hybrid platform, the Republic's Navy found themselves rejoicing as the Liberty's design specs were released. An independant vessel if ever there was one, this far-reaching and durable beast is expected to see a great deal of service in the future. In recent years The Republic, having been embroiled in a harrowing, extensive, long-term war, recognized the growing need for support and logistics functionality in their vessels during the kind of protracted interstellar warfare that might otherwise prove exhausting for its participants. Both Frigate and Cruiser-class ships were put under the microscope, and in the Republic the outcome of the re-evaluation process led, among other developments, to a redesign and redeployment of Patrol Frigates. The Liberty originally offered excellent versatility for what was considered a low price in dedicated firepower. One of the key features of this ship it's its extensive sensor systems, to better help is monitor and patrol systems, especially when left there independently.
