OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a molecular furnace for future submissions and the closed market.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: N/A
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Pyrolisis chambers break down the physical structure of an inputted material.
  • Reconstruction chambers convert the broken-down material into a new desired material.
STRENGTHS
  • Alchemy: Breaking down materials into their basic molecular elements, then reconstructing them into new material is the essence of alchemical fantasy - yet, the Mackinaw realizes this fantasy and turns it into a reality. The Mackinaw can function with virtually any raw mass to convert it.
WEAKNESSES
  • Precision: The Mackinaw operates out of scientific principles, not magical fantasy. To create the desired material, you must first break down and collect all the required elements to combine such a material. Furthermore, the process of reconstruction is incredibly time-consuming and any potential left-over waste can extremely hazardous if not handled properly.
  • Not a Weapon: The Mackinaw can only consume limited amounts of material at a time, making it impractical for world-destroying.
DESCRIPTION
The RMM-KW5 Mackinaw Molecular Furnace is yet another addition to Roble Manufacturing's growing catalog of industrial facilities. The Mackinaw is designed to break down the physical structure of these inserted materials to the molecular level via intense pyrolysis, heated in vast chambers through a Sybarium crystal lens and insulated by thick walls of Dolovite. Once broken down, adjacent reconstruction chambers allow the operator to turn these broken-down atoms into new materials, almost in alchemist-fashion. However, some caveats exist to this - the molecular furnace is a science, not magic, and to create one material out of another the operator must gather all the necessary materials and break them down. In addition to that, the process of putting broken-down molecules through the reconstruction chamber takes exorbitant amounts of time and monitoring, as any potential left-over waste or reconstruction that is not handled properly can be extremely hazardous with grave consequences. Despite the risks, however, the Mackinaw is anticipated to be useful, if not vital industrial tool for corporations across the galaxy.
