Rising of a Phoenix

Ulic Adraya stood outside of the Commenor council chambers after a meeting with both the King and Queen. The possible upcoming war weighed heavily on his mind as he thought of all the possible avenues Commenor would go down. They were a neutral state to the core, but wars didn't care about neutrality and only cared about what was gained by the end of them. Blood shed or not.

He had been seeking a Padawan learner for a little while now. Even though at times this could slow him down as he would have to pick up the slack of a Padawan, the assistance of pivotal missions would be gladly appreciated. He began walking down the halls of the main government building of Commenor - his hands folded within the front of his robes and his eyes scanning the hallways as he walked.

Even though Commenor was quite fond of Jedi (particularly due to their king being a Jedi Master) this probably wasn't the best place for him to find a Padawan. He had thought maybe it was time for him to return to the Jedi Order for a brief stint and try to get some Jedi to come over to Commenor with him and learn under his tutelage.

As he walked a warm smile graced his face - he was rather fond of this planet and it's tropical climate. Even with war on the horizon, a paradise planet could do wonders for the skin.

Instead of heading to the Jedi Order in particular though, he sent a broadcast out to all Jedi learners within the Jedi Order asking for anyone who sought out his tutelage to come to Commenor and seek him out. He would be waiting.

Phoenix would have been on the planet of Ilum collecting crystals to create herself two more lightsabers. The ones she had on her person at this time were old and didnt allow her to use the full potential so she collected more crystals, this time they were two very light blue silver if you glanced at it quickly. She would meditate for hours on them before assembling her sabers.

She would then receive the holonet message from a man she didn't recognize the name but he was looking for a padawan, she was ready to learn. She would send one back announcing her soon to be presence on Commenor. She would then make for her starship and make the jump. SHe would soon land on the planet and go to seek out the master

[member="Ulic Adraya"]

Ulic received the reply almost immediately from [member="Phoenix Paris"] and his warm smile grew slightly. He enjoyed fast response time because it was needed in the field of battle, which would be somewhere that they would both be soon enough if everything played out the way it did in Ulic's head.

He slowly made his way to the landing pads on Commenor knowing that while he was allowed access he wasn't sure if a Padawan would be allowed access into the inner-chambers of the government building. He stood in his casual Corellian robes at the landing pad as she landed. His hands were still folded in the front of his robes and his azure blue eyes looked up to the Padawan as she descended the ramp of her ship.

Immediately she caught his attention as he found Twi'leks rather attractive. But she was young and that wasn't his place at this time.

A warm smile graced his face before he bowed in a low deep bow of respect to the Padawan. When he arose the same warm smile adorned his face and he scanned her up and down almost as if assessing her before he spoke.

"Greetings young Padawan, my name is Ulic Adraya Knight of the Jedi Order. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

The necklace that adorned his neck shone brightly in the sunlight of Commenor. He turned and began walking away expecting the Padawan to follow him as they walked deeper into the government building of Commenor.

"I hope you've come with the understanding that my training regiment is not an easy one, you will be put to the test and perhaps even put to the test in battle before you are ready. Commenor here is a neutral government seeking to establish peace through-out the galaxy, but as per usual there are factions who would see that dismantled, and we're here to make sure it isn't taken down."

He looked behind him to make sure she was following, the same warm smile gracing his face.

As Phoenix brought the ship down onto the landing pad she would glance out of the front glass and catch sight of the man, he was rather handsome but she must put those thoughts out of her head. After bringing the ship down onto the landing pad she would kill the engines and lower the boarding ramp making her way out.

As the master bowed before her she would return his bow. As he spoke she would get lost in the azure seas that were his eyes, she would listen just the same. As he spoke she would gracefully move closer to him and she would speak "The pleasure is all mine master" She said in her rather high pitched but quiet not squeaky voice who many found attractive

She would follow him closely not wanting to lose him "so I have heard master I believe I am prepared to learn from you"

[member="Ulic Adraya"]

Ulic watched her carefully as she descended down the ramp and followed behind him. Hearing that she was eager to learn from him brought him a slight bit of joy and you could almost say pride, but he quickly suppressed those feelings as it wasn't something that a Jedi should necessarily feel. It was his duty to teach the younger generations his knowledge, not something that should be done for pride or grandeur.

"I'm glad to hear that you're ready to endure my training regime, we start now."

A sly smile spread across the left side of his face as he announced the beginning of their training.

"We start by assessing your knowledge of Jedi Lore.. Please recite the Jedi Code passed down by Odan-Urr for me. And before you do that, your name is [member="Phoenix Paris"] according to the Jedi Database correct? What a beautiful name for a beautiful young woman."

Since she hadn't introduced her name to him he wanted to be sure that he knew the correct name for the woman. His voice as he spoke was low and deep with a hint of being stoic. There was also trace amounts of humility in his voice through the slight flirtation now taking way.

"That is correct master, as for the jedi code it goes and I quote Emotion yet peace Ignorance yet Knowledge Passion yet Serenity Chaos yet Harmony This is the way of the Jedi" She said smiling at her master. She had memorized the whole of the jedi code, including the extended version taught by master Yoda so long ago.

She prided herself on her memory as well as saber combat, she had been taught the ways of hand to hand combat as well as edged weapon combat as a young girl, she had taken on the double saber style of Jar'Kei.

[member="Ulic Adraya"]

"Very good very good my new Padawan."

The Jedi Knight smiled warmly to his young Padawan as the approached a training center specifically meant for the Jedi that resided upon Commenor in the main building. Ulic pressed his hand to the door and it immediately opened revealing a large training room that resembled a Dojo.

Without another word he walked into the training room and dropped the top of his robes to the floor revealing to her at this time his bare back showed - the tan skin reflecting the light slightly as his muscles flexed. He slowly stretched his body and motioned for [member="Phoenix Paris"] to stand across from him.

"You have basic knowledge of Jedi Lore which is good, we will teach you much more about it in the coming days. But now it's time for me to assess your skills in combat, because that may be coming sooner than you think. I refuse to throw your life away simply because you weren't ready."

Training Lightsabers lined the walls around them, and at that time he took a single training lightsaber from the wall. He activated it and twirled it around his body. He slowly stretched out his arms while doing this and then formed into a firm footed Djem So stance.

Phoenix would see her master's open back with all of its muscles rippling, she would blush her face turning a shade of blue. She would cover her face before making her way over to the other side of the room removing her twin lightsabers from her belt and picking up two training sabers instead. She would take them with her reverse grip that she had grown accustomed to wielding them.

She would prepare herself activating the two blades

[member="Ulic Adraya"]

Ulic briefly noticed her blush and smiled momentarily himself. Without another word though he engaged her. He took a few strong steps forward to her before bringing his blade up above his head, his Djem So form flawless.

The front of his torso was fully showing now, and it was obvious by the way that his muscles rippled when he brought the blade up that his downward swing would not be an easy one.

The falling avalanche came down to the top of her head as his foot planted directly in front of her foot. He exhaled heavily on the way down to increase the velocity and power behind the downward swing.

It may have been a bit over-the-top to go this all out on such a young beautiful Padawan; however, in battle and combat the Iron Knights or Sith or anyone else wouldn't give her any passes and any remorse, so in their training regime Ulic would not go easy on his Padawan.

[member="Phoenix Paris"]

Phoenix was ready for this, she would quickly bring both sabers up to block the one over head strike, it hit hard but she was skilled enough with the sabers to redirect the blow away from her, as he planted his foot it was then she knew it was coming in hard. She would then using her Ataru deviant of Jar'Kei she would leap into the air doing a flip over him bringing both of her sabers down towards his head.

She had 3 deviants she liked forms 2 3 and 4

[member="Ulic Adraya"]

As his blow was parried and sent back by her Jar'kai defense Ulic smiled impressed by his Padawans strength. It was no easy feat to parry a falling avalanche. The moment it was parried he lightened on the foot that was planted before taking a step backwards, and noticing her fly high into the air above him.

He immediately hit a knee and brought the saber above his head, allowing her blades to slide along his own before she completed her flip. He knew that she would have to land firmly on her feet behind him and that she would want to immediately regain her footing and face him - it was his goal to stop that from happening.

He from his right knee immediately swung his left leg out to the side in a leg sweeping motion so that the moment her feet touched the ground she would be swept off of her feet and he could move in for the "kill".

[member="Phoenix Paris"]

Phoenix wouldnt have a chance to miss his leg, as it came in it knocked her off of her feet momentarily but she would very very quickly kip back to her feet, she would switch to form three ready to deflect any strike might be thrown her way, she knew enough of the saber forms to know that this was the perfect counter for form 5 djem so.

She would plant her feet in an even stance preparing

[member="Ulic Adraya"]

Ulic noticed her fall to the ground but immediately spring back to her feet and knew that this is where he had her right where he wanted her. He stood up his lightsaber falling down to the side - to those who were trained they could recognize this as Niman. Instantly [member="Phoenix Paris"] could feel the force wrapping around her body and pulling her to the Jedi Knight.

As her body came towards him - he took a step to the side flourishing the training saber out to his side with a spin, before attempting to cleave it into her back as she slid past him via the force pull.

She seemed rather adept at the lightsaber forms she knew and this impressed Ulic; however, this current action only left her a few options, she could take the strike to the back which would only bruise and slightly burn her at best with the training saber, or she could attempt in another Ataru move to perform a risky acrobatic feat that would only end up serving to put her in an even more precarious position than she already was.

In the last moments before her body came at him he reached for her arm, grasping it firmly in his hand so that if she did attempt an acrobatic feat in Ataru - it would only serve to injure her arm - in a sense forcing her to take the hit to her back.

Soon Phoenix felt the invisible but incredibly powerful grip of the force latch onto her body, she had experienced this only a few times in her short life but she knew this was called a force pull she would think to herself Kark I am screwed he's got me, what are my options in this instant? I could try another Ataru attack but I could be injured and that wouldnt be good, and god he's so cute. No get that thought out of your head. You could try to block the strike that will come from behind but that could once again injure you. God he is so cute. She had struggles keeping her thoughts under control

Phoenix knew she had been beaten, she knew that it would hurt but not kill to take the saber to the back but she could further injure herself if she tried anything else to try to counter. She would as she was force pulled prepare herself and take the saber to the back. She knew when she was out matched. she would fall and drop the sabers

[member="Ulic Adraya"]

As she fell to the ground Ulic brought the training saber to the back of her head signalling her defeat, before deactivating the saber and walking around to the front of her body.

He knelt down shirtless next to her - his hand reaching out to her to help her up. The warm smile that graced his face when she arrived on the planet once more adorned his features as his palm faced upwards for her to take.

"You did wonderfully Phoenix, you're extremely well versed in fighting, you'll make an excellent Jedi Knight one day."

Truth be told he felt bad about hitting her so harshly in the back with the cleave, but it was a harsh lesson that she needed to learn. His hand reached around her back and he placed it softly directly over where the bruise and burn was - as he was helping her up.

Slowly the force began to ebb and flow around their bodies and she could feel the ashlan side of the force slowly flowing into her back - his azure eyes never leaving her as the wounds on her back where healed.

"Next is hand to hand combat."

[member="Phoenix Paris"]

Phoenix as she lay on the floor would think to herself about the duel and where it had gone wrong. She had given him her all without injuring herself, as he walked over to her and bent down to help her up her soft gunmetal grey eyes would look up his bare chest and into his Azure eyes, they were so beautiful. She attempted to stop herself from blushing, but she had never met someone so pretty before.

As he placed his hand on her back she felt her heart skip a beat, his hand was so soft. She would smile through the pain. She was going to be hard on herself from here on out because of this incident, for it was the first time in awhile that she had been beaten this badly, she may seem like a battle hardened warrior on the outside but inside she was much like a normal teenager. she would as she rose brush one of her head tails to the back, she needed a headband to hold it

"Why thank you master."

She said as she gazed into his eyes felt his soft hand on her back healing her. It felt amazing.

"I am ready"

[member="Ulic Adraya"]

For a moment he was at a loss of words and or thought as he just gazed into her soft gunmetal grey eyes. Even after the healing of the wound on her back was done his hand continued to rest there for a slight moment. Ulic inhaled deeply through his nose centering himself in the force and focusing his mind breaking himself out of the trance he was in for a moment.

His hand slid off of the soft material on her back and took a step back from her. He took form of Teras Kasi - which typically was used by smaller combatants but this was the one hand-to-hand technique that he knew she would have a hard time with.

He took another deep breath as his muscles flexed and he became entrenched in the stance he had taken. Most of the time Teras Kasi users staggered their fingers as well to hit certain pressure points; however, Ulic kept his fingers fully straight and had an open palm ready to strike at any moment.

He let one of his arms stretch out-wards before signalling for her to begin.

[member="Phoenix Paris"]

Phoenix was not a hand to hand combat expert in any sense of the word, she didnt like it at all, but she would do it. She knew he was bigger than her so that meant she had to be fast extremely fast. She wasn't opposed to hurting people but with her short height it made fighting difficult for her, she was also very thin in stature so she would have to be smart with her hits.

She would not want to hurt him, he was too cute for all of that right now, she liked him too much. She would keep an open hand and prepare herself for anything and try to not see him standing there in front of her

[member="Ulic Adraya"]

Another deep breath, and then it was on. He charged at her using a technique called the Charging Wampa. His right open palm was brought firmly across her jaw. He knew that she would probably dodge this first strike; however, the Charging Wampa was a two pronged attack.

A slight smirk formed on his face and the moment she would dodge his incoming attack he would spin on his back heel bringing both of his open palms directly into her chest completing the charging wampa.

Whilst he charged at her the force began to flow through his body and into his hands, hardening the skin and bones in his hands to make each strike meaningful.

He didn't want to hit her in the face so the first strike at her jaw would be light almost as if it were a feint, but the double strike into her chest would be with the full force of all of his muscles in his body. He honestly adored her and hated hurting her in this moment but a hit straight into her chest wasn't something he necessarily shied away from.

[member="Phoenix Paris"]

Phoenix didn't like this, having to fight someone she liked. She would have already decided that she was going to use a somewhat of a Soresu style attack, that was not attack at all but play defense until she was able to find a weakness in her opponent. As the strike was thrown at her jaw she would duck it and prepare herself, she would think to herself was she really ready for this, she thought for too long and it took her focus off of the important duel, she was hit in the center of the chest.

The strike hit with such ferocity and strength it knocked the wind out of her, as well as knocking her off of her feet. She must work on focus she thought as she flew through the air before hitting her head on the hard floor and blacking out
