Intent:
The Riot Officer Protective Suit is intended to act as a set of armor specifically for Riot Officers; as well as to be utilized in cooperation with the UT-RW (Urban Terrain Riot Walker.) This provides for an effective Riot Suppression force that is focused on ensure not only the safety of their officers; including the safety of those individuals that are rioting.

While lacking in a means to completely modify it to change it from its original configuration; it none the less has the capability of being altered slightly with the addition of colorization or patches that denote planetary affiliation. This also applies to additional distinguishing marks that would denote the officers rank, precinct, city of origin and unit.

The bulk of the suit is made out of a lightweight polycarbon armor weave combination to provide flexibility and durability in the line of duty. The Upper torso, shoulders and arms are protected with a set of Durasteel plates for added protection of vital areas and to prevent injuries and diminished capacity of movement and operation to the upper limbs. The back, sides and lower back additionally have Durasteel plates to further provide protection for organs in these areas. Likewise the lower torso and fronts of the individual's legs are protected with a double covering of one frontal and internal layer of armor weave with a series of protective ceramic polymer plates between the two layers.
An individual's head is protected by the helmet which is composed of three distinct parts. The frontal face mask, which includes a breath mask and goggles for protection against Tear Gas is made from Durasteel, with the goggles being crafted from Transparisteel. The second piece is the upper portion of the helmet which covers the whole of the Individual's head, which is pressed from a single sheet of Durasteel with internal foam sonic dampening materials. The third piece which is a protective visor is made from Transparisteel for added defense and protection of the eyes and breath mask.
Description:
The Riot Officer Protective Suit is just as its name says; a protective suit for Riot Officers that provides more protection than most other Riot Armor on the current market. It is a self sufficient piece of technology that provides adequate support and improved protection to the officer that is utilizing it. However due to the suits themselves needing to be hand crafted for each officer, there is no 'one size fits all' like most other protective pieces.
This requires each officer to come into the facility to be measured and each piece to be fitted and refitted until a perfect fit is crafted. However this entire process is worth it in the end as it gives those officers greater protection. Likewise though its other defaults are that of requiring additional training to ensure the Officer is adequately prepared to rapidly equip the armor when called upon. Furthermore the goggles themselves can cause a form of tunnel vision, making it difficult for an individual to use their peripheral vision, often requiring an another officer next to them to keep an eye on their side. This means that the suits are more effective when it is utilized by a full unit, rather than a single individual at a time.
While these drawbacks are worrying, the durability of each suit, and the additional training more than make up for it. Likewise these suits are often used in tandem operations with the UT-RW (Urban Terrain Riot Walkers) that are also produced by Vault-Tech Security Designs. As such their true strength comes from the teamwork of each individual and the walkers working together than working alone.
