SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Rimward Trade League Outreach Center
  • Classification: Governmental Office
  • Location: Sluis Van
  • Affiliation: Rimward Trade League
  • Accessibility: This building acts as a sort of Embassy and Community Center. The building is generally accessible for the public, with certain offices being under guard for planetary dignitaries.
  • Description: The Outreach Office is set up in major cities across the Rimward Trade League to provide a combination of embassy and community center. Set up as a go-between from the regional government approaches of the League and the planetary systems local government, the Office provides many different services while doing its best to provide a public face for what the League represents.

POINTS OF INTEREST
The Outreach Office is designed commonly but also uniquely for each capital city where one is constructed. The standard construction is as follows

  • The Ground Floor: Containing an atrium as well as a small hall to provide news of the local planet, as well as the Rimward Trade League as a whole. This floor provides common services for the local settlement, including but not limited to a large reception hall to provide a room to host celebrations, and performing arts, as well as a multi-use indoor court for a variety of sports during foul weather. This floor also contains several urgent care rooms capable of diagnosing a wide array of symptoms, and providing treatment that may or may not be found on the subject world.
  • The Second Floor: This is another civilian floor, this provides common services from training seminars to employment workshops. Members of the local community can learn more about the Rimward Trade League and understand where their own unique skills and gifts can find a use, either on their local world or among the stars. Depending on the world, this serves as an outreach to assist with providing needed technology, and where necessary agriculture and processes can be improved from the League.
  • The third floor: Accessed through a secure turbolift, this floor is designed with roof access for transports to land on. Planetary and League leaders and officers are able to meet to discuss a multitude of issues from trade disputes to humanitarian efforts, to day-to-day issues of planetary government. These offices are not designed to replicate a Capital structure or government, merely provide a meeting ground for local government and League representatives
  • Underground level: Depending on the planet, this may be multiple levels. The floors below ground serve as a primary shielded bunker, using both traditional energy and ray shielding, as well as old fashioned 'built below ground' construction. Atop of the bunker aspect, the underground level(s) have several small research labs to assist in scientific outreach from the League.

SECURITY
Medium
– The majority of the structure is open to the public, with the top and some rooms on the underground levels being protected by armed forces from local governments. These guards are more than patrolling lawmen

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Part of the Rimward Trade League's most common constructions on a new world, the Outreach Centers are built in conjunction with newly arriving regional officials from the League and the local governments. The first of many handshakes on a newly allied world, the Outreach Centers are designed to provide a local, and humane face to the RTL. Many are constructed around large urban centers on the worlds. The test subject of this program was the world of Sluis Van. Working with the Sluissi, the League was able to demonstrate that the government is not human centric, and willing to work with all beings around the galaxy.
