SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Foot Clingers - The soles of Rick's bionic feet are lined with suction cups, allowing for excellent traction in any situation, even keeping Rick's feet on something in zero gravity. They can be activated or deactivated through a small, relatively hidden gray button on the left thigh.
  • Tension Suppressors - When Rick crouches down low, the movement of his artificial leg joints applies pressure to long, thin cords encircling the center bars of the leg. Tuning the crouch into a leap converts the stress into energy, sharply increasing the efficiency of the jump (higher, longer leap).
  • Fins - When sensors on Rick's legs detect that they are submerged up to the knees, fins emerge from both of Rick's feet. They are long, thin, and aerodynamic, allowing Rick to swim even faster than he could with his organic legs.
Strengths:
  • Firm Grip - Due to the foot clingers, Rick is able to secure himself to nearly any surface in any situation as long as his feet touch the ground.
  • Double Jump - The tension suppressors on Rick's legs make a significant difference in how far and high he can jump, allowing him to move over far more uneven terrain than before.
  • Technology 1, Mother Nature 0 - The durable, multi-metal plating of Rick's legs can withstand almost any extreme natural condition, from acid rain to temperatures of over 200 degrees celsius.
  • Always Prepared - With foot clingers, jump-boosting suppressors, fins that activate upon being submerged, and reinforced armor plating, Rick's bionic legs are capable of getting Rick though nearly every situation.
  • Steel Warrior - The incredibly durable plating on Rick's limbs is capable of greatly nullifying the effects of most melee weapons, and can resist multiple bolts from an assault rifle. Additionally, their non-organic nature makes shrapnel completely ineffective against them unless lodged multiple inches in.
Weaknesses:
  • Electricity Beats Metal - Even the armor plating of Rick's legs have trouble reducing the devastating effects of ion and EMP weapons on the central systems of the legs. Even a single shot from a typical ion cannon can cause involuntary activation of the suction cups or fins, creating a handicap for Rick. Additionally, sustained fire can disable the legs until separate repairs can be performed, effectively immobilizing Rick.
  • Jammed - If damaged or strained, the tension suppressors can fail to work, disabling Rick's ability to perform long jumps. Worse yet, the suppressors can jam in a crouching position, forcing Rick to remain squatting until his suppressors adjust or are repaired.
DESCRIPTION
As Rick Kaloo drifted through the space above Umbara, the wreckage of his former flagship surrounding him, his compressed suit ripped to shreds below the waist, he realized there was no longer any feeling in his legs.

Beyond any sort of medical attention, impaled with large chunks of shrapnel and frozen by space, Rick's legs were amputated and he was put in a bacta tank in order to prevent himself from bleeding out.

As Rick lay dormant in the bacta tank, his faithful engineers at the newly christened Outer Rim Military Engineering designed a set of legs for him to use. Intended for pure quality, to thank Rick for the quality put into ORME, the legs took almost a week for a team of thirty engineers and suppliers to develop, working on twelve-hour shifts.

To allow Rick to jump higher than ever before, tension suppressors were created lining the central frame, later concealed by armor plating. When Rick would squat, the suppressors would tighten up. If followed by a leap, the suppressors would release, providing a significant boost in his jumping height and distance.

Suction cups with a custom activation system were added, to secure Rick to any surface, in any situation. They were proven to work even better than magnetic grips.

Retractable fins were added to replicate Rick's own webbed feet, so he could swim in his homeworld properly.

All the components were added, and tested at record speed. It only took two prototypes before the legs were fully functional. They were then fitted with high-quality armor plating, further increasing their defensive capabilities.

Finally, the ORME engineering team arrived at Silver Rest, with the legs in tow.
