+Student of Makashi: Richel is particularly fond of the form of lightsaber combat known as Form II, also known as Makashi. He enjoys the elegance and precision, but still uses other movements from other Forms to make up for some of Makashi’s drawbacks
+Silver Tongue: Having been born in noblitiy, Richel was taught from an early age of how to negotiate with others.
-Cocky: A drawback of his upbringing. He tends to become over confident when the situation becomes apparently to his advantage
-Cyclopean: Due to the loss of his right eye, Richel now lives with some of the handicaps associated with the loss of binocular vision.
APPEARANCE:
Richel is a young man who is in his late twenties. He wears his reddish brown hair to a medium length. His skin is of a light caucasian tone. His face, more or less, would be considered handsome by some more vain circles. He has a noticable scar running from his left cheek, across his nose, and finally to his right eye, which is often covered by a rudimentary eye-patch for cosmetic reasons. He stands about 5’8” and has a lean athletic build that weighs about 175 lbs.
BIOGRAPHY:
Richel Dontez was, needless to say, born into a family of high status. His father was a prestigious member of House Dontez, a minor house of the Onderonian noble families. His mother side of the family was more complicated. The Lady Dontez, Richel’s mother, was a Tapani woman whose ancestry was within the notorious House Mecetti. The family prospered under inherited wealth and a small business in a vineyard.
It was not until an unexpected visitor came to his home when he was about twenty-four. His grandmother, the Lady Dontez’s mother. An elderly woman who was a part of the dwindling remnants of the Mecrosa Order, a Tapani secret cult of the Dark Side who had long served House Mecetti. The old woman had seen her grandson’s potential in the Force, and wished to take him to be trained with the intention of passing him on to the One Sith. Richel refused outright, and comotion rang in the Dontez homestead that quickly turned to the old woman lashing out against her grandson. A slash of her lightfoil took out his right eye and left a burning scar across her face. In his rage and pain, he unwittingly reaching out in the force and suffocating his grandmother to death. Horrified when he came to, he stole one of the family’s smaller crafts and imposed self exile upon himself. He knew well that the One Sith and Mecrosa would retaliate if he stayed. He brought himself to the domain of the Silver Sanctum, prostrating before the Jedi to help him control his latent powers.
Thus, for three years, he trained under various Jedi masters as a student of the order, but was often reassigned due to his often reckless and cocky attitude unfit of a proper Jedi. Upon hearing the failing state of the Republic by both Sith and Mandalorians, he felt the need to go striking against them and defend the Silver Sanctum from suffering the same fate. Thus, he petitioned the higher ranks to grant him a letter of marque, allowing him to act as a privateer against potential threats within the Sanctum’s naval borders. Now under the tutelage of [member="Akhilleus"], he roams the stars to raid against his enemies.
