The Jedi Padawan, Rhane Varless constructed a simple one-handed, purple, lightsaber almost two decades ago to practice basic swordsmanship drills and tests with. His teachers, realizing his potential, allowed him the privilege to use two double bladed lightsabers. Rhane promptly returned to Ilum where he gathered a green and a blue lightsaber crystal. Returning to the Jedi temple on Kashyyyk, he used what technological savvy he had to construct a crude version of his current sabers. Over the years he gradually upgraded and upgraded until he perfected his blades, bringing it to an apex level technologically speaking. Each blade is equipped with a hinge system, allowing the blades to bend at the middle for ease of storage and transportation. The blades can be activated in this form, allowing for a parallel set of blades in each hand. The blades can also de-couple from their double bladed form, allowing Rhane to utilize each of his four arms. The locking system is protected threefold with a magnetic and mechanical lock, and a twist maneuver being required to decouple the blades. In order to re-couple the blades, each action must be inversely repeated.
