Major imports: Metal, raw materials
Major exports: Chemicals, lumber, power stones
Affiliation: Independant

Culture: Rhadamanthus' bizarre government is extremely confusing to outsiders. It has elements of what core worlds would term democracy, dictatorship, federation, and communism. The concept of money never occurred to the Qineam, and the barter system was quickly abolished when tribal "primarchs" took control. Rhadamanthus went through an uncommonly long feudal age, eventually ended by the primarchs combining resources to colonize the moons in an attempt to preserve the speices.

Current Rhadamanthan government functions very similarly to a democratic federation, with obvious communist traits to its economy. Each city's Primarch is afforded an equal voice council votes, with resources distributed as needed.

Technology: Rhadamanthus is at roughly the same level as the contemporary galaxy in almost every field. Its technology is extremely alien and largely incompatible, but the Qineam have created functional duplicates of the most common, utilitarian devices central to the main galaxy. Most cities are contained within heavily armored and shielded shells in order to prevent being overrun by rapid vegetation growth and massive creatures.

This technology isn't available for player use.

History: Rhadamanthus seems to be a world perpetually stuck in its primordial infancy. The trees are huge, the native animals are huge, there are occasional volcanos, water everywhere, and everything is trying to eat you. Literally every life form on the planet, including the plants, has evolved to be phenomenally deadly. It should come as no surprise that Qineam are a hearty lot.

Until the Qineam evolved from their equine roots, the world progressed much as one would expect. Species evolved, came into fruition, or were hunted to extinction. Everything was supremely efficient at its purpose in life - find food, kill it, and do not die. When the Qineam developed sapience and fine manipulators, however, the world underwent significant changes.

Simple sentience afforded the Qineam a rapidly and randomly fluctuating position on the planetary food chain. Working together, Qineam could take down apex predators or sarlaac-sized death plants. Individually, it was entirely possible they would be taken by much smaller predators, due to their lack of natural defenses.

Even the development of technological weapons didn't alter the balance of power on Rhadamanthus much, apart from asserting the Qineam farther up on the food chain. It wasn't until they started building cities that absolutely everything changed. From the time of permanent city-building, Rhadamanthan technology advanced explosively, going from simple flight to sublight travel within two centuries.

Rhadamanthan's space age has been characterized by rapid orbital colonization. Every moon and several orbital stations became much more hospitable homes for the Qineam than their own planet ever was. The Qineam have yet to create an orbital shipyard, so all starships are created in a planetary or colonized environment and they have yet to create any capital ships.

Notable PC's: None. Formerly "Kiruoum Kirdci Mdehm Hikec Byzih Synmir"

Intent: To create a homeworld for the Qineam species, specifically Kiki. Also, Star Wars doesn't have enough death-jungle planets.

Inspirations:
Catachan (Warhammer 40,000) - Primary inspiration, surviving to age 10 is boot camp
Jund (Magic: The Gathering) - Volcanic jungle planet full of monsters that continuously eat each other into extinction
The Dark Crystal World (Dark Crystal) - Moving, carnivorous plants
Pandora (Avatar) - Massive everything, dangerous herbivores, alien creatures
Tuchanka (Mass Effect) - Native life dangerous even to spacefaring species
Zerus Prime (Starcraft) - Carnivorious plants, constant extinction due to overhunting

Similar Planets:
Dxun - Deadly jungle moon, out-of-control predators, thick canopy creates darkness
Felucia - All-consuming jungle world, phenomenally deadly predators
Haruun Kal - Jungle itself actually trying to eat you, dangerous predators
Vendaxa - All life seemingly developed exclusively to kill sentients
