Not actually named after the Republic and Rebellion hero, Captain Rex or CT-7567, of the Grand Army of the Republic, but after the High Vandemarian word for 'King', the Imperial Guard Armour is the first proper armour produced for the average Vandemarian ground and marine forces. Heavily inspired by contemporary Stormtrooper Armour as well as the old armour of the Clone Army, it is though a heavier variant and meant to offer more protection and versatility.
Highly customisable for individual preferences without losing uniformity is a great asset both for allowing soldiers to be their best self as well as to give a sense of unity and uniformity among the troops. The Rex-type achieves exactly that. It is clear and easy to distinguish from other armours in use and yet every soldier can add own attachments and equipment parts to it.
Furthermore individual units are using own color schemes and markings to increase the feeling of comradery among the soldiers.
Given out to the new Imperial Guard Corps, the standing military of Vandemar which was founded about twenty years ago after the fall of the Empire. Aside from the slower process of training and readiness of the Grand Legion as expected, the Vandemarian leadership invested in more and average cloning facilities, to quickly breed more soldiers to maintain security and stability. For this purpose the Rex-armour was created, to equip a new generation of Clone Troopers and eventually also supply Imperial remnants beyond Vandemar.
