GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Army Name: Corellian Defense Force Public Security Forces

    • CDF Groundside
    • Corellian Troopers
  • Classification: Army
  • Affiliation: Corellian Confederation
    • Galactic Alliance
  • Army Symbol:
    lYNVv01.png
    • Despite the CDF's official colors being black, orange, yellow, and white, the PSS used a symbol that maintained a styalized Corellian star in green - a homage to their more recent roots in CorSec. Their armor and uniforms were a more conservative tan, black, and green.
  • Description: The Public Security Forces was a branch of the CDF dedicated to the defense of Corellian Confederation assets and interests on the ground. Sometimes called CDF Groundside, they were garrisoned across the Confederation and Confederation Colony worlds to protect against pirates, raiders, and in the worst case - planetary invasion. They were the first line of defense planetside and had a history of being more loyal to the people and old Corellian notions of honor. In one's military career, it was considered a step up from CorSec if one found CorSec Intelligence unsavory. Outside the heroic Halcyon Corps, they were the favored military organization in the Confederation and usually polled high with citizens of every species. They would occasionally work with CorSec to take down especially dangerous criminals. In recent years as re-settlement of Corellia's main continent continued in the Coronet Frontier, they were largely who the Frontiersmen would rely on. However, out on the Frontier, new and old farmers and homesteaders found their presence grating.

    • Coronet City
      • CorSec Plaza
        • Corellian Defense Force HQ
  • Goals: To defend the people and interest of the Corellian Confederation
  • Reputation: Compared to the faceless Corellian Marine corps and the haughty naval officers, the PSS was seen favorably by the Corellian populace. Many CorSec agents and beat cops found them inspiring.
COMPOSITION INFORMATION
  • Army Size: Huge.
  • Composition:
    • CDF Groundside - The main grunts and soldiers of the PSS
    • CDF Groundside Flight Corps - The support airforce of CDF Groundside. They used mostly transports, atmospheric fighters, and airspeeders. They did operate a small number of starfighters as well as several corvettes for troop transport and limited space combat.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Corellian Defense Force Public Security Forces has served Corellia for time immemorial. Its most recent incarnation began when Lisza Starseeker and the Corellian Council seceded from the New Republic after the CIS' invasion of Kuat. In the following weeks the New Republic began to fall apart having lost its flagship and one of its highest ranking military leaders in one fell swoop. With war on the horizon Corellia began to shore up its own defenses and invest heavily into its own military. After the declaration that Corellia would be leaving the Republic and be reconstituting the Corellian Confederation many Corellians in the New Republic resigned from their posts and returned home to join the reconstituted Corellian Defense Force.

Many of the officers initially were pulled from CorSec precincts, making the first group of recruits heavily invested in the protection of their home. This fierce determination to protect their own became ingrained in the PSS, resulting in much higher recruitment than the Navy. As the Confederation grew in influence throughout the Core more and more bases were deployed throughout the stars. It was these brave men and women that were able to defend against initial Bryn'adul incursions into the Core Worlds and prove that there was strength in Corellia. After the Confederation would become founding members of both a new, 'High Republic' and later the Galctic Alliance, it maintained a heavy influence in the militaries of both nations with many worlds such as Balmorra and others maintaining CDF Groundside bases through mutual defense and aid pacts.

In large part due to the efforts of the CDF Navy, there were many Corellian colonies along the Corellian Trade Spine and Corellian Run where smaller garrisons were located. The PSS became the largest branch of the Corellian Defense Force, though they did the least.

SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: Coronet Capitol Tower Plaza
  • Classification: Governmental buildings
  • Location: Corellia
    • Coronet City
      • Green Sector [Governmental District]
        • Capitol Square
  • Affiliation: Corellian Confederation
    • Galactic Alliance
  • Accessibility: [ Describe logistical information on how easy it is to find/access this location. Is it hidden? Is it isolated from society or is it in the middle of civilization? Is it guarded? Open to the public or private access only? ]
  • Description: Coronet Capitol Tower Plaza was the center of political activity in the Green Sector. Built on a bluff that overlooks Coronet Bay the plaza was surrounded by greenspace, a recurring feature of the Governmental District and its sector namesake. From the tower one could see across the bay to the rest of the Governmental District, including the Green Jedi enclave, the Saber. Radiating out from the tower itself, the plaza had a myriad of buildings, businesses, apartments, restaurants, and everything else politicians would require access to. It was on the edge of Capitol Square and was actually quite far from many of the common points of interest within Green Sector such as its museums, the Drall Library, and Port Pevaria. Luckily, it had its own minor space port as well as access to the mag train lines that ran throughout Coronet. It even had an underwater mag line that ran directly across the bay to the other side. Fort Bastion, the Alliance's sector HQ was located nearby.
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Coronet Capitol Tower: Coronet Capitol Tower was built atop the Corellian Council Chambers and had apartments for many of Corellia's dignitaries for use during long sessions. The Diktat's office is located near the top of the tower. Selonians and Uggnaughts work in the highest areas of the tower keeping it functional and online.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Coronet Capitol Tower was once destroyed by Sith Occupying forces after the fall of the old Galactic Alliance. At first, it was used as Sith HQ in the sector, but after repeated rebellious actions by Corellian-Alliance loyalists, the Corellian Council was slaughtered, the Diktat publicly executed, and the tower destroyed. It wouldn't be until the One Sith fell that reconstruction of the tower would begin.

The Corellian Council was at first a small group and so the tower and its base were originally all that was envisioned for the building. As the centerpoint of Capitol Square and the Governmental "Green" Sector of Coronet the tower alone was impressive enough. However, after the secession of Corellia from the new republic it had joined, it became apparent that more would be required of the tower. Notions of further democracy became commonplace and the "lesser worlds" of the Corellian Sector began to want a say in the sway that Corellia had on them. When the Confederation exploded even more wished to have their voices heard. What began as a single tower and capitol building quickly grew into its own complex. The construction would come to encompass an entire plaza with flags from every world in the Corellian Sector and beyond. Embassies were established and even the Corellian Defense Force had offices in the building, its black and orange flag flying right alongside those of Balmorra and Humbarine.

After the Galactic Alliance was formed many of its old flags remained, though where once there was a Balmorran Councilor's office now there was an embassy as worlds once under the Confederation's protection saught that of the Alliance instead, joining Corellian in the Alliance's senate. Still, the Confederation was large, encompassing the entirety of the Corellian Sector and several colony worlds along the Corellian Trade Spine and Corellian Run. Even large organizations such as the ship building conglomerate Corellian Engineering Corporation and Corellian Mining Corporation had places among the Council.

Overlooking the bay, the Corellian Confederation's flag flew high, a bright green jewel in a sea of stars.
