Return of the Metal Lords (FWC Dominion of Denon - Hex U-33

Marina DeVoe

Not a flight attendant... just a risk.
She figured he'd expect his subordinates to put everything on hold for him, as she made her way to the refresher.
She had just come out of a jump and had been ordered to land in his ship as if there had been something pertinent going on at that particular time over the system. But no, it was just the captain doing what she now realized was micromanaging everything around him. Only thing though, she wasn't among his military ranks, she was a civilian and not his subject whatsoever.
the nerve of the queen's son to dictate his will on her like she were one of his subordinates.

Marina damped a towel and pressed it on her face. She needed to cool off a moment more. Shaking her head, she looked up at her reflection turning the faucet off...
Hmm, interesting. The faucet had automatically sprung closed on its own. it was timed. made sense, since water was rationed on a ship.
Taking a deep breath, she put the towel down and made her way out of the refresher and towards Theo again. And there he was with that impatient demeanor on his person.
marina could only guess at the poor subjects that had to put up with him in command. How long did they have to hold it...their entire shift? A cold shiver ran up her spine thinking of what it would be like under his command.

Lord help Alderaan if this spoiled kid ever made head of House Organa, she thought to herself as she came to step up to him again. her ship was in the background and no one was unloading what she intended to bring down to the surface. So he was serious about accompanying her?...damn it.

It was clear in marina's eyes that she didn't like the idea...not one bit. there was an irritant about him that refused to subside. "Sigh...with all due respect, Captain Vereen... If you have no legitimate reason to detain me...I wish to depart...alone." There, she said it.
Now let his little boy tantrum go run amok, for that was what she was prepared for.

Was she defying House Organa?
No.
[member="Theo Vereen"] had no jurisdiction over House DeVoe, nor her, the way she saw it.
At least not in a sense of forcing his will over her own as far as escorting her down planet side. Did he think she was a greenhorn? That she hadn't dealt with the likes of the Underworld, the First Order and among other self serving factions that plagued this galaxy? It was almost comical how everyone underestimated her. Maybe it was an underlying gift of perception she projected, which made them think she was an airhead.
And Theo proved no different...especially with his condescending overtones toward civilians...her especially.

"TK... fire up the engines." She didn't wait for his permission or refusal on her reply to him. She'd show him!

be de beep be de... and expectantly, the droid...her faithful companion went on to inquire as to why he was to fire up the drives when she was still standing there outside the ship.
Lord, it were suddenly difficult to maintain a serious stern face in front of Theo. Not with her droid questioning her orders.

"Grrr...." she let out a whisper of a grunt, as this was not making her authority over the droid look good.
" Sigh...because I said so...that's why." She again stood poised giving her droid an order.
'Please, please, please shut up and just do it, TK'...she silently prayed.

be de beep beep... And again the little tin bucket that looked to be headed to the scrap heap replied that she had said not to run the engines inside the hangar...unless they were immediately taking off.

This was not working out as she expected it to.
"Because..." was this really playing out like it was? " ...we ..are...leaving..." she replied to her droid over the comm, avoiding eye contact with Theo. Her droid was not helping, as he wasn't getting it. Marina needed to keep her own master over my destiny persona. Which the way it was going...wasn't.

de beep de be de... naturaly, the astro-mech droid reported back that she was still standing in front of the captain there, and that protocol dictated that they couldn't leave without permission, as technically they were in Theo's ship and that he had dominion over their coming and leaving. Which he then went on to point out-

"Alright!" She stopped her droid from explaining further.
"S...stand by!" She closed the comm, red faced, fuming over the situation.
God, she wanted to get off this prison barge asap. But she couldn't leave until Captain Bleigh...Vereen rather allowed her to leave.

"Sigh...permission to leave, captain?...Alone?" Grrr...how she hated asking again, like she was some kind of subordinate of his. Well, as long as she was ship side, he was Captain.
