Comm-pack - Each armor has a small communications pack that encrypts and decrypts comm-traffic. This allows Resurgent troops to better communicate and map the battlefield
Vacuum Proof(35min) - The Armor, like most of its kind, is vacuum proof for up to 35 minutes
Wrist Mounted Punch Knife - Contained in the knuckle plate of the armor is a simple Durasteel blade.
Wrist Mounted Energy Shield - Contained within the left wrist of the armor is a small energy shield capable of blocking blaster bolts and most small arms fire.
Temperature Regulator - The Armor has an internal temperature regulator to allow for operations in extreme climates.
Water Recycler - The armor is also equipped with a water recycler, ensuring that a soldier can keep fighting.
Heads Up Display - As standard on most armors, the RTA has a HUD.
Pockets/Bandoleer - The armor features a number of bandoleers, pockets, and other holding points.
Strengths:
- Standard: This armor is simplistic in design and function. Resembling the ancient armor used by the Sith Empire, this set of plastoid protection allows Sith Troopers to stand above the civilian populace. Like the more famed stormtrooper armor, the RTA offers protection against slugthrowers, blasters, and most small arms fire. The armor is by no means a bulwark, but it serves its purpose well enough.
- Standard: As stated above, this armor is far from the most holistic protection. The armor has multiple weakpoints under the arm and knees, it's plastoid plating is not thick enough to withstand heavy weapons, and in general the armor isn't much better than what other front line troops are issued.
As the Resurgent Empire expanded it became more and more obvious that it's military needed some augmentation.
Though most of the Resurgent Empire's forces were previously made up of the Savage Massassi, it became apparent that this was simply not enough. As more worlds were conquered and more populaces came into the fold it became evident that something more was needed. The Sphere of War quickly jumped at this and began to recruit populaces from local worlds, though always ensuring that no one ever served upon the planet they were recruited on.
To facilitate these new forces some changes had to be made.
Massassi, unlike most forces in the galaxy, do not wear armor. The thick red skinned mutants never really required anything more than a few sheets of metal and thus nothing really had to be developed. As time went on however and the military grew, this simply wasn't recognizable. As such the Resurgent Empire quickly geared it's production into overdrive.
Within the span of a few short weeks the Resurgent Empire created it's standard issue trooper armor.
This armor was neither unique, nor really ground breaking but offered enough protection to be put into production. Within a matter of months Resurgent Trooper Armor began to be mass-produced and most Imperial Worlds were re familiarized with what was once an iconic image.
