Research Time (Siobhan)

Thank you, darling. You're so sweet. She replied. Mirien not only liked Siobhan's corny lines, she also knew where they came from. And maybe, just possibly had read those same novels too. After all it was worth it to tease Siobhan about. That and maybe, though she'd never admit it, she liked them too.

Gently Mirien squeezed her hand in return but didn't reply. She had hoped she'd come along way, but still wasn't entirely sure. With Phylis beginning the process to make the item, Mirien stood back with Siobhan just watching.

They should. It would be good for Galina I think. She did shake her head, Truthfully, Sio.... my path isn't one I want anyone walking, but me. I don't want to take a chance that she would even remotely model herself after me. It certainly wasn't an easy path, and one filled with so much pain, many horrors and too many regrets. As well as too many things she could not undo no matter how much she wished otherwise.

It was then that she turned her attention back to Phylis, watching keenly as she worked. Though at the very end, Mirien did not expect Phylis to pass out. Mirien just shook her head as she stepped forward to check on the Jedi. "You know, I think she's a little too much like Coryth in this regard. Pushing herself to the brink, and passing out because of it. Two peas in a pod." With that, she scooped the woman up, "Do we have somewhere we can lay her comfortably for a while? The Forge floor, after all does not make a good bed."

Siobhan gave Mirien's hand another squeeze. I don't want Galina to walk yours either. Nor do I want her to walk mine, she admitted honestly and bluntly. But...you sell yourself too short. You're a caring, kind, loving woman. You have darkness inside you, so do I. Don't distance yourself from her.

Of course, Siobhan had a very romantic view of things. Mirien's path had been filled with bloodshed, pain, horrors and regrets. Still she had forgiven her, even after being confronted first-hand with some of the atrocities she had perpetrated. Did that mean Siobhan was blinded by love and letting her off the hook? Especially when one considered her usually very cynical views on redemption. Perhaps, but as far as Siobhan was concerned the monster had died when Mirien fell down those stairs on Atrisia. What she had done afterwards as Inquisitor had been reprehensible, but it was not in the same category. What with her being implanted with a killswitch and so on.

Anyhow, Phylis alchemised the feth out of her copper knife and then passed out. Mirien took the initiative and Siobhan quickly limped over, helping her scoop the librarian up. A light side aura emanated from the knife and so she made no attempt to approach it, since she did not want to be burnt. It did not go well with her skin. "Yep, she is way too much like Cory. Except she keeps resolutely refusing my attempts to get into her pants and show her a good time. Her chastity belt must be made of beskar," Siobhan grumbled to herself. "Hmm. Let's take her to her room. She can sleep there."

Phylis woke slowly with a pretty formidable headache. Sitting up, she played the last thing she remembered in her head, then looked down at the bed. Fortunately she was still clothed. Not that she'd expected anything else. Siobhan might try her attempts at 'seduction', but she'd never force herself on someone.

Getting to her feet, she looked muzzily around the room, and spotting a basin went over to wash her face and drink. Sensing that Siobhan at least was near, she headed that direction, coming upon her and Mirien, thankfully not in a compromised position.
"Hmmph, you finally got me into bed, Siobhan!" she said with a laugh. "Thank you both. I think I rather overdid it. Was it a success?"

Mirien had been watching over the unconscious Jedi Master. "She did. And left you entirely clothed, though there was some talk of stripping you down to your underwear for comfort." The former Inquisitor was entirely teasing, this time.

"As for the blade, neither Sio or I have touched it. Damn thing is teeming with lightside energy and just screams of getting burned should we try. So, judging by that alone, I'd say it was quite successful. Though, you pushed yourself a wee bit hard, like a certain other Jedi Master I know, with flaming red hair." She said with a shake of her head. They certainly were special little snowflakes like that.

"Just for your comfort, of course. The air conditioning does not work that well, we know how hot it gets here," Siobhan joked, apparently thinking that she was being terribly sly. "I was just about to liberate Mirien of her clothes, then you had to wake up," she stated. This writer would not be surprised if Siobhan owned an entire nudist beach.

Mirien's words made Siobhan giggle, well, girlishly. This writer is clearly feeling very witty this morning. "And, yes, your blade looks line. Full of lightsided goodness."

“Hmmph, well, when pushing forward a new field one cannot be cautious,” Phylis said. She ‘hmmph’ed’ again at their mention of stripping.
“Hmm, yes, I think the temperature is just perfect here.”

She led them down to the forge and recovered her new blade. It wasn’t her greatest creation ever, true, but it was the first Alkahest item she had made.
Drawing her lightsabre she levitated it in the air and sliced at it with her blade. Copper could usually be cut with steel, let alone a beam of plasma. This time, nothing. Well, except that the impact knocked the blade free from her mental grasp and set it flying across the room to stick in the wall.
Hoping Siobhan hadn’t seen that, she went and pried it loose, putting it at her side.

“Thank you for your help, Mirien. Of course, this is only the first step for me. The next step is to make a weapon which can bind other skills to the metal. That’s something for another time though.”

"Ask Coryth about pushing too hard, she barely survived once. Take that as a warning, Phylis. You can push too far, too hard and cause harm to yourself." Mirien said in a firm warning, slightly irritated at the stubbornness. Just. Like. Coryth. Mirien whispered to Siobhan's mind. Just as stubborn, just as frustrating. Silly women they are.

Mirien only watched as Phylis decided to test her new blade. And test it she did, against both a lightsaber and the stone wall. The former Inquisitor had to stifle a giggle as the woman pried it from the wall.

"Always happy to help a friend of Siobhan's." The woman said quietly. So she isn't as bad as I thought. Just stubborn. Now can we go back to your bed and continue where we left off? "If you anything, don't hesitate to call." She said as she pulled out a card with her contact information on it.

Mirien's telepathic demand amused Siobhan a lot. Here I thought I was the perma-horny one. Glad I'm rubbing off on you, she joked. Don't worry, I'll tie you to your bed and have my way with you soon. You better get loud. Siobhan liked it when her lovers got...vocal during their lovemaking.

Oh, and yes, she saw how Phylis' lightsabre went flying, though she suppressed a giggle. "There's something I'd like to ask you, Phylis. Could you make a protective amulet for Galina? She's got the Force, but is still very afraid of it, and I want to make sure she has some protection. Too many evil people out there who'd hurt her."

“Hmmph, I have not lost as many limbs as other people in this room, tell her about pushing too far,” Phylis said grumpily.

However, Siobhan’s question made her pause. “What form of protection? Mental or physical? I don’t believe I’ve met your daughter. Is she…I mean what is her…hmm…alignment?” Tactful question to see if Galina was being raised Dark Side.

“I can certainly make her one, whichever you choose. However, I will need her to be present, and I will need a measure of her blood for the binding ritual.”

"I have, not that she listens either." Mirien said with a chuckle. What was it with stubborn women around her? There just seemed to be far too many.

The questions were better left for Siobhan to answer, after all it wasn't her daughter/child. Though she at least could answer one, "The girl's neutrally aligned. Though I'm sure Sio knows better than I."

As for the rest of that, Mirien wasn't sure how the kid was going to feel about such a ritual. Either way, she wasn't entirely sure she wanted to hang around for the lightshow that was sure to follow.

"I'm not raising my daughter dark side. No child of mine will be. She's a sweet little angel who's supposed to have a normal life and stay as far away from dark stuff as possible. Tempest is training her," Siobhan said very firmly. "I don't want her to follow my path."

Siobhan wondered how Galina would feel about the ritual, but she would not compromise when it came to her little girl's safety. "I think a mental protection amulet is best for now. There's too many sick people who get their kicks out of mind raping innocents."

Hearing Siobhan’s words made Phylis feel a lot better. Even if Siobhan continued in her ways at least it wouldn’t be passed on to her daughter.
“I would be happy to. What I need though is I’ll need the materials to make it. If you want it in gold or silver I need that. I will also need her present. Has she been taught any shielding techniques yet?”

"I do have both gold and silver here." Mirien said. Finally one thing I can really answer in this. She thought to herself. "Just locked away in a closet, over there." She pointed. "Should I go locate her, Sio?"

Siobhan gave Mirien a nod. "Yes, I'd like that," she said warmly. "Tempest taught her some basic mental shielding," she said in response to Phylis. A lot of time had passed since Galina had made her first, tentative steps into learning the basics of controlling the Force. After all, the training montage had been set before the silly Netherworld crisis.

Mirien bowed her head slightly, "Of course, I'll be back with her shortly." For now, she let the other two alone, together. While she headed on her way to locate the young redhead. Somehow, she imagined that the young firemane might take to Phylis, that is until the word blood was mentioned. Perhaps they should work up to that part of things. Or so Mirien thought to herself. For now just telling Galina that her mother wanted to see her, and meet a friend would do. She sure as hell wasn't going to be the one to tell the girl what was going to happen.

Phylis clapped her hands and grinned happily. She did always like more opportunities to practice her craft.

She went to the safe and retrieved two ingots, one of silver, the other of gold. She held them up for Siobhan to inspect.

“Gold or silver, you think?” she asked. She restarted the furnace too, knowing that she’d have to get it heated up no matter what she used.

Siobhan thought for a moment, then responded. "Silver. Think gold's too ostentatious for her. Besides, it draws too much attention. We should probably work up to the alchemy stuff and not say right away we need blood from her. She's still rather nervy when it comes to the Force. Can't blame the poor dear. She came from a war-torn planet where Forcers treated common people as slaves."

Mirien came to the only place she could think of that Galina would be. And that was in her study. Softly the former Inquisitor tapped lightly on the door. "Galina, it's Mirien. If you aren't too busy, your mother needs you right now. She'd like you to come meet a friend of hers, with me." She said after the redhead opened the door. Truthfully Miri was hoping for less questions and Galina just to come along quickly where she could leave her with Siobhan and Phylis.

Galina frowned, but nodded as the brunette explained. "Okay. Just a second." After all she had a habit now of carrying at least one weapon with her when she was out of the house. After grabbing that, she followed along quickly beside Mirien. "Who are we meeting?"

"Phylis, a Jedi Master. A long time friend of your mother. Admittedly for a lightsider, she's not bad. You might even like her." Mirien said politely as they moved on and headed back down to the Forge.

Coming down into the Forge, Galina was followed by Mirien. "Hi mum." She said quietly. The girl did manage a smile at Phylis, as she stepped into the room and over to Siobhan. It just felt safer to her, in the presence of strangers to be closer with her mother. She gave her a quick hug, before turning around to face the new Jedi. Though she waited to say anything just yet, not really wanting to disturb the two of them any further than she already had.

Phylis smiled at Galina in a friendly way. She was not that used to dealing with children, and though Galina was clearly an adult, those around her were treating her a bit like a young teenager. It was curious.

“Hi Galina! My name’s Phylis, and I’m a Jedi!” she said expansively. “Your mother has asked me to make you something to help protect you. I’ll try and make it pretty, just for you!”

She looked over at Siobhan, not sure how to continue. “Uhh…hmm, yes, did you have a favourite shape you’d want the pendant to be? I don’t have my full set of moulds, so basic geometric shapes is all I can do, but still! Hmm, or I could make a ring instead if you prefer that.”
