Republic Reunion

The Warfighter
Location: Galactic City, Coruscant

Drez and his fellow Fett clones had just arrived on Coruscant not long ago. They left the Corellian G-9 Rigger class light-freighter in one of the parking hangars and boarded the Magnaline 3000 Airbus. Coruscant hadn't changed much really. It was the same busy city that they knew back during the Clone Wars, except that there wasn't an army stationed here, or at least the troopers thought so.

The troopers had always admired Coruscant's nighttime panoramic view as well, though they weren't here to admire the skyline. They were on Coruscant because the sensors on their shuttle had detected a beacon. It wasn't any ordinary beacon though, it was a beacon giving off a Clone Wars era signal.

The troopers were well aware of the risk of the civilians dissatisfaction towards the clones and the era that had followed the Clone Wars. As a result, they had their helmets tied to their body armor and had the body armor concealed by robes similar to Jedi robes. It never did hurt to catch up on the galaxy's history anyways.

"Alright, looks like we've arrived, Drez." Lex said as he tracked the beacon's signal to a very close proximity as the airbus came to a stop at one of the bus stops.

"Remember, we need to keep a low profile." Drez warned. He didn't want to start a gunfight in the middle of the Constant streets at night anyways.

The eight troopers exited the airbus and followed Lex while scattered as he slowly walked across the platform onto the sidewalk. They walked for just a couple of minutes before Lex came to a sudden stop. "The signal is coming from in there." Lex said as he pointed at a cantina to his right, unaware of the name.

"79's? This place is still here?" Kano exclaimed in disbelief. The other clone troopers looked up and were amazed that the cantina was still there. 79's was one of the cantinas that clone troopers would go there to blow some steam off. It was actually one of the few that would tolerate clones as well, mainly because the clones had driven away most of the other customers anyways.

"Alright, let's go in. I mean, what are we waiting for. We're just here to check out this beacon. That's it." Drez shrugged as he proceeded to walk towards the cantina's front entrance. The clones nodded and shrugged in agreement and followed closely behind Drez.

"I'll be," Krenis murmured under his helmet as he strode up to the cantina. He'd been stationed here after his return to the present era, but still, he'd never expected the place to still exist. Removing the helmet, Krenis strode back into the ancient cantina. Some very familiar faces caught his attention and it took him aback. Of course, with the x-faced scar across his face, he'd probably give them quite a shock as well.

"Brothers!" He called to the group ahead of him. "Where have you been? I thought I was one of the two or three who survived." His armor wasn't clone armor anymore, although its design resembled the classic ARC trooper armor. Beyond that, it was clearly Mandalorian. He wasn't quite eager to introduce himself yet.

Not with political tensions as complicated and tense as they were. Who knew who these clones worked for now? Many had joined the Empire after all and even to this day, those who might still side with the imperials. If they did, he'd have to kill them. But hopefully that would be avoided. He'd had to kill too many men with his own face in the past. Krenis didn't want to do any of that again.

The group of clone troopers following Drez stopped dead in their tracks. They thought that they wouldn't draw attention from anyone. However, something else had caught their attention: the man's voice. It was a voice all too familiar for themm the voice of a Fett clone, just like them.

The troopers turned their heads towards the area where they had heard the call from and saw another Fett clone. This Fett clone had modified armor, which seemed to be a blend of both ARC trooper armor and Mandalorian armor. On his face, there seemed to be a scar the shape of an X, but he was still very much a Fett clone, just like them.

"Unbelievable." Wooley muttered under his breath.

Izmar confronted the Fett clone without hesitation, wanting to know his identity and about his origins. "Who are you?" He started with a calm tone.

Krenis assessed them, eyes looking them up and down. Robes and he could hear the all-too familiar sound of the traditional armor plates shifting slightly beneath the robes. Were they newly awakened? Or here for some other purpose? It had to be the beacon. Krenis had detected it as well and come to investigate it. Yet, he had come armed and armored. Now that Coruscant was independent of any galactic government, there was little cause to worry about political shenanigans, but still, it could be a dangerous world.

Especially when broadcasting a Clone Wars beacon like the one that lured the Jedi to their deaths after Order 66. That was enough cause for him to be wary with this beacon. Yet if these ones still used Clone Wars technology, were they aware of what had happened? Or just that things had changed.

"ARC Captain Alpha-93," Krenis replied, matching eyes with the other clone. "Though I go by Krenis Skirata now."

Beyond that, he saw no need to elaborate further. The Sith and First Order had spies everywhere and he was still paranoid enough to remember being hunted by the Empire. No desire to bring that down again, not while he was here alone in neutral territory, not far from the frontlines of the wars.

Sarge sat at a table, drinking from a schooner of whiskey, playing Sabaac with a few other Commandos, all Fett Clones. Honor, the Second in Command of their squad, and Emergency, the Lieutenant. He was currently winning, as always. Emergency was following after him, Honor in last place. Lock and Burner were exchanging more stories, of the ladies they'd met, men they'd brawled, children they never had. Cycle, Harm and Glitch were talking, while drinking a nice bucket o' rum each.

They had a room in the cantina they shared, kept all their armour and weapons and such together. Sarge had just won again, staying in the lead, when he was alerted that there were people approaching 79's. He got up and rubbed his beard, it went down no farther than his Adam's Apple, matching nicely with his swept back hair. He flung on a brown coat, and put the hood over his head, then put his helmet on the seat where he was, next to his drink. He secured his pistol on his right leg holster, and walked outside.

He looked at the clones outside, who mostly had their backs turned to him, he was eventually joined by his own squad, all holding DC-17M's, with their armour on. Lock, ever the smug joker, threw him his helmet and a DC-17M carbine, Lock thought the situation was funny, or atleast somewhat. He had a smile on his face, almost perpetually, which made it hard to tell if he was really happy or not, he often earned the name Loki, due to his green hair, and mischievous personality. He looked like it too, they'd never looked exactly the same after the freezing that saved them, they all looked unique. Either way, this was their bar now, they payed for it, they owned it, and they weren't going to give it up, they stood their ground, looking at the Fett clones.

The troopers all greeted Krenis warmheartedly, feeling ecstatic of the prospect that another Fett clone had survived all this time just like them. This gave the troopers the idea that maybe other Fett clones survived as well. However, they needed to check out this beacon transmitting Clone Wars signals. Krenis could tag along if he wanted, maybe he even had the same mission, but they wanted to check it out as soon as possible.

Drez, being the leader, took a few steps forward. Though he wasn't a Fett clone, he still very much respected clones. "I know this is a wonderful reunion for you guys, but we need to get into the cantina." He said as he pointed at the cantina and started to take a few steps back towards it.

None of the troopers noticed the Republic Commandos standing in the entrance of the cantina, fully armored and looked and loaded.

Krenis nodded and greeted the rest, but his attention had already been drawn to the door to the cantina. Clone commandos. It had been quite a while since he'd seen them around, not since they had hunted him as Imperial Commandos in the old days.

"Let's meet these others," Krenis interrupted, pushing past the squad. "Not sure it'll be so easy to get in if they don't want any to enter."

With the helmet cradles under his arm, he moved forward towards the door.

"Well met, brothers!" He raised a scarred eyebrow. "Did you think we had come to storm the bar?" He ambled forward with a smile. "Just here as friends."

The group talked with each other under their helmets, Sarge remaining perfectly still. Finally, he relented, took of his helmet, revealing his beard and hair, a glossy black, shining in the Coruscant lights. He had a scar across the top of his head, and on his neck, his red eyes looking at the Alpha ARC, looking him over, then handed his gun to Honor, who was right next to him. He then walked over to the Alpha ARC, smiling.

"An Alpha Advanced Recon Commando? impressive. I had the immense pleasure of working with ARC 77 and Alpha-17 in various battles. I was even selected for Alpha-17's training program. If I accepted the position of Commander from the program, I would likely atleast have been transferred to a Regiment, or given my own. Or maybe even have been promoted to Marshal Commander by now. All of that aside, it is good to see you brothers."

He held his arms open.

All of the troopers, except for Drez, gave the clone commandos a brotherly hug. Of course, they were thrilled to see more Fett clones. They weren't alone in the galaxy after all. They didn't want to get too comfortable as they wanted to find out just how friendly the commandos and the ARC trooper were.

Drez, after all the Fett clones finished greeting each other, proceeded to shake hands with each one of the commandos, leaving Sarge for last. After shaking hands with the commando named Sarge, he started speaking. "It's always a pleasure to see more of the Fett clones. Finest troopers I ever fought alongside." Drez said, trying to flatter the commandos so that they won't resent him, especially since he wasn't a Fett clone himself. "Did you, by any chance, happen to activate a beacon? You know, one of those Clone Wars era type of beacons?" Drez finally asked.

By now all the Clone Commandos had taken their helmets off, and were smiling, or talking with their brothers. While Honor joined Sarge in talking with Krenis and Drez.

"I myself did not think you had come to storm the bar, atleast not in that armour. It never hurts to be cautious now though. It's good to see you though, brother. I take it that you're not a clone? strange, how did you acquire that armour then? Either way, if you're trying to flatter us so we accept you, don't worry, if you're squad vouches for you, mine won't worry about you."

He looked over to Krenis, and wrapped him up in a brotherly bear hug, lifting him off the ground, then dropping him.

Honor, a man equally as tall as Sarge, being the two biggest in the squad, in terms of broad shoulders, height and muscles did the same with Krenis, rubbed his hair. To be honest, him and Sarge looked like they were still clones, just of a different man, but yet they were Fett clones. They looked near identical down to the fine details.

"I'm Honor, Captain Honor. Melee Specialist, Second in Commander to High Colonel Sarge. That one there is First Lieutenant Lock, the sniper" He started to point of the Commandos. "Next to him is Lieutenant Emergency, the medic, then Second Lieutenant Harm the demo. that's Sergeant Burner the incinerator, Private Cycle the heavy. Last but not least we have Corporal Error, our slicer slash Technician. Good to see some more Fett clones other than the Shock."

"As to that Clone Wars Era beacon, we've got no clue. Haven't used one of em in years. We've seen a few Commando droids and CIS droids around here lately, it'd be strange, the CIS collapsed and died, maybe they were a deactivated legion? or they've been being used by some people and being charged? maybe even charging themselves?" (They don't know about the Confederacy right now)

"That I am," Krenis replied, stepping forward and embracing the other clones, only grunting slightly as they squeezed him tightly, one even lifting him off the ground. "And those were good men you served with. Good trainers. Wish they might have still been around." He stepped back from the others, looking them up and down. "It is good to be back."

He shook the hands and repeated the names of the other clones as they listened, marking away the tiny distinctions between each one that set them apart from the others. Identical they were to outsiders, but among themselves, it was plain enough to see the differences. After all, one could always tell a blemish on their own face, and it was no different with clones.

"Interesting," Krenis mused. "There won't be any old CIS legions left on Coruscant. They'd have been discovered sometime in the past few occupations. Current Confederacy wouldn't have Clone War era codes.."

His voice trailed off as he considered. "Think we perhaps should investigate."

Drez nodded in approval to Krenis' suggestion that they should investigate the source of the beacon. "I agree. We should investigate. If you're saying that CIS droids have been appearing as of late, there must be something going on around this area. Let's start by getting one of those droids and checking it's databanks." Drez informed Sarge, as he put his black helmet back on.

"I guess it's safe to put these on then." Ridge said, referring to the helmets, as he and the rest of the Fett clones put their helmets on. Each trooper had different colored markings, making them easier to distinguish from each other. On the plus side, they also represented the former grand legions and battalions of what was once considered to be the finest fighting force the galaxy has ever seen.

"We tracked the beacon's signal to 79's. Maybe we should search there first?" Lex suggested as he held up the device they used to track the beacon. It pinpointed the location to 79's cantina, though it could be anywhere closely above or below it.

Sarge
He looked at Krenis. "They very well could be. We were frozen in bacta by a Clone Engineer, atleast we were told it was bacta. There were three others, Commander Thorn, Commander Colt and Captain Ayk. All shock, not sure what the Engineer did after that, he froze himself at some point, or said he would. It's quite possible that he preserved ARC troopers aswell."
He adjusted his gauntlets, and simply listened for a moment.

"Well, I could send a couple Commandos down below, a few up, even. Or--" He was cut off by the Error, who had walked up and grabbed the device, and started fiddling with it, before it gave a more precise location, below 79's, anywhere below it, he then raised his two forefingers to his head in a mock salute, and walked away back to the conversation he was in before.

Honor
He watched Error walk back, silent. "He's helpful, at worst destructive, and best, creative. Well, now we can either split up, and leave some clones here to guard or--" He was cut off aswell, but this time, by a mysterious clone wearing Shadow Trooper armour, with the red markings of a Shock Trooper.

Ayk
"I believe I can handle the capture of a simple Tactical Droid."

Honor & Sarge

Both troopers stood to attention, raising their hands, were their helmets to be on, they wouldn't taken them off and put them under their arms, which they then put their helmets under their arms, the rest of the Commandos did the same, all facing the new Shadow Trooper, in a rarely used, but known salute. The Shadow Trooper had the markings of a High General. "SOB CAPTAIN ON DECK!" They yelled in unison, standing completely still, not moving an inch.

Ayk
"Well Sarge, Honor, you've brought me an Alpha Arc and a squad of Clones with a de Facto human leader? interesting. Well gentlemen, if you'll join me in the Command Centre for a quick briefing."
The now established SOB(Special. Operations. Brigade. Old Republic High Command basically) Captain started walking towards a Republic-Era Command Building.

"Down below, eh?" Krenis mused. "Interesting." He ran a hand through his hair and then shrugged. "If they survived after Order 66, not sure I want them back." He spat and ground it into the duracrete. "I wouldn't worry about Clone Wars droids at this point. Nothing left of the old CIS and the new CIS leans more in the same direction as ourselves for the most part."

Regardless, he flipped off the safety on his rifle and let it hang carefully by his side, while his armor ran scans on all the data. He nodded as the last one appeared, but not much else. The Grand Army of the Republic was long-dead and he'd fought for a half dozen armies since then. Old ranks were long-dead, like the army.

"Might as well see what's up," Krenis agreed, moving to head towards the inside. "Let's take a look at this briefing room. See what's survived the half-dozen sackings and invasions that have torn this planet apart over the past ten years."

The clone troopers all saluted the Captain Ayk, but Drez just nodded in acknowledgement as the army ranks were 800 years outdated, though he still respected him for being another surviving clone. He looked at Lex, who was amazed by Error's technician abilities. Drez grinned as he always felt that technicians weren't appreciated as they should be. He then stepped forward. "I'd volunteer to go down there and check it out while my boys here can stay on guard, whether inside or outside 79's. Who's going to come with me?"

Drez felt that the clones would be better off taking an easier task, since they weren't as sharp as they used to be, yet. Plus, his armor had cortosis weaved in it, so that if anything hostile was around the beacon, he wouldn't get killed if he was blasted. In addition, he wanted to be on the good side of the newly met clonesm he didn't want them to feel he was the boss, but rather the leader of the team.
