The Retribution would be making this trip alone. There was no need for a massive force to be present here. The Order of the Jen'ari would only be discussing a peace to take rid the galaxy of two common enemies. The leader of the Order, Dark Lord Darth Vyrassu had sent word to the Galactic Republic to meet him on the Neutral world of Duro. Vyrassu who sat in his chambers eyes closed meditating. The room was round, with a chair with a high backing, similar to a throne sat in the center of the room, this is where Vyrassu sat. The room was gold in color but glowing red from the red lights around the room. The room had an eerie feel to it, the way Vyrassu liked it.

Meanwhile on the bridge, several Imperial officers were busy keeping everything in order and setting the Retribution on course to Duro. Grand Moff Slate was watching over the crew making sure everything was going to according to plan. The last thing slate wanted to do was anger the Dark Lord. The bridge was massive, on the sides it went down into a cubby where officers were working, massive windows all around the bridge. The entire bridge was dark, the only light was red lights that bathed the bridge in a red ominous glow. The entire bridge was just really creepy. One officer approached Slate and informed him they were ready for the jump to light speed. Slate nodded to do so. The officer waved the signal to go. In a matter of seconds the Retribution had jumped to Light speed on it's way to Duro.

It felt like hours going from the Jen'ari capital to Duro. But eventually Vyrassu was alerted to the fact that they were coming up to Duro via Comlink. Vyrassu opened his eyes and stood up. The tall Sith lord standing at 7'5" with full black robes, twin black phrik shoulder pauldrons. His Hood up over his head hiding his black mask with ominous red glowing eyes.

Vyrassu walked to the Turbo Lifts and took it to the bridge. Once on the bridge Vyrassu noticed he came onto the bridge just as the Retribution came out of light speed. Vyrassu walked all the way across the bridge to the front looking out the massive windows. The Retribution came to a stop just over the planet. Vyrassu looked to Slate. Prepare my shuttle for departure to the planet Grand Moff. Slate looked to Vyrassu and bowed. Yes my lord. Vyrassu looked back out the window not seeing any other ships, Vyrassu wondered if the republic will show up.

It had been a week since Darth Vyrassu and his Order of Jen'ari had entered the Humbarine system, sending the planetary government of the Humbarine Council into a crisis as a foreign, unknown and potentially hostile force settled above their planet. In the week that followed the council had been quick to elect Ella Nova as their new representative of Humbarine in the New Republic following Vice Chancellor [member="Tobias Dracks"] decision to remove Sullchiri Ridall from his position as interim representative and her role in defusing the situation with the Jen'ari, resulting in Vyrassu leaving Humbarine unharmed.

The Initium, a prototype model based on the old Scimitar designs of the past and made by classified venture of Chandrila DataTech and Ri'ess-Emeritus Enterprises several years ago, was en route to the conference on Duro. Senator Nova sat in the pilots seat with Jack Anderson, an agent from the Jen'ari, sat beside her in the co-pilots seat. The two would need to discuss things before arriving on Duro for the conference.

"When we arrive I want to know whether or not Vyrassu will expose your relation to him. That you are a member of his Order of Jen'ari. It would not be good for me if it is revealed that I had a Sith agent working under me after what happened last week."

In the week they had, Jack had called in the rest of his mercenary company, the single modified CR90 corvette attracted literally no attention compared to the fleet that showed up the week before despite the 701st being semi infamous in the outer rim for taking some of the shadier jobs all their gear was legally purchased and licensed, with very few exceptions. Jack now had them following behind, although technically they would arrive ahead given the ship’s impressive hyperdrive, Jack just wanted them on hand in case the locals got twitchy and tried something.

Jack wasn’t really a fan of this ship, it was to small for his taste, there wasn’t the room for him to get up and run or move, and in times like this when was getting stressed by the meeting coming up he needed to move around and get rid of some of this nervous energy.

“I don’t have a clue if he will, I‘ve got this karking itch that he might, but fething hell that would be bad. He knows what’s he’s doing, mostly, but he seems like the kind of guy who spells subtle with a giant hologram, fireworks, and speakers blasting out rock music.” Jack said as he shifted in his seat for the sixteenth time in the last half hour. “I can get a message passed along to him once we drop out of hyperspace. Just in case he intends otherwise then we won’t be kriffed when he just shows up with fleet full of secrets.”

Jack typed on a data pad as he spoke, writing a quick message to be delivered to Darth Vyrassu ’in confidence with all due haste’, just asking him to keep Jack’s involvement with the Jen’ari a secret for the time being.

Aegis would stand outside of [member="Darth Vyrassu"]'s chamber, ready to keep anyone out. He'd step to the side as heard Darth Vyrassu walk out. Aegis would trail behind Vyrassu on his right shoulder, entering the bridge with him as they exited the turbo lifts. He'd step out with Vyrassu, standing behind him as he looked out of the window.

-- Tobias sat at the dark table and surrounded by powerful Force Users that were members of the Republic Knights. Thinking of the problems that had arrived to the steps of the New Republic, it was only too convenient. The Provisional Government was replaced and the Senate was being put into place to properly take over the government. Now this new power wanted to meet with the Republic to discuss something or other along the lines of an Alliance. It was possible that the Sith Empire had a splinter group, but there were still too many unknowns.

-- The Vice Chancellor was wearing a heavy armor that was a variant of the VT-Vonduun Armor he was given by the leader of the Rebel Alliance. To any force user he would be considered dead to the force and any actions against him using the space magic would be as effective as someone trying to use it on a Void Stone. He had been warned by the Jedi Council to be prepared for some kind of trap, and he had planned for however this played out. He only looked at the Republic Knight closest to him, "Remember, sense any threat and leave me behind and save yourselves, this individual was able to turn a courtyard of individuals into subservient slaves, we can loose a useless politician, but trained Force Users must be priority."

Alexandra Feanor

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
Alexandra appeared, in the same manner, she preferred, hearing Tobias's words and smiling as she came up between the two, placing her head between their shoulders and raising a brow, the youthful Grandmaster speaking as she came out of nowhere. It was normal for her to appear as if out of nowhere, a bit of a blend in the use of Fold Space and reduction in her presence in the force. She enjoyed doing this as it almost seemed like she could appear where ever she wanted with no issue.

But such things were false and even now her heart picked up, compensating for the energy she had spent to get here. None the less, she was here now and her voice sounded immediately following Tobias's words, her face there between them and her appearing out of nowhere.

"Please. With me here, the only ones that need be worried are the Sith that is coming... speaking of which, what was his name? I was kinda sleeping when you sent the message over Dracks, and I tend to forget things from time to time..." The last bit was a complete lie, the truth is she had not looked over the file before leaving and only realized it now.

Her memory acted like a filing cabinet, recording events and sealing them away in a folder for her to pull up at any time. That was after all the benefits that the eidetic properties of her memory... the faults were far worse though, and she subconsciously rubbed her arms as she thought about that. The thought had also brought her to standing up straight once more, no longer leaning between the two and looking up at them with a grin.

"I wouldn't worry too much, this man sounds like he can do a lot, but so can I Vice-Chancellor. In case you need to update that folder on me some more, after all, I can't let down my admirer."

Ella nodded as Jack explained what Vyrassu was like. She knew that once upon a time he had been investigated by Ella Nova following threats made against Jedi and several bounties that he had placed. She had learned this as she had researched the Jedi Knight's former life, becoming immersed in her history to a point where it had effectively become her own. Lifting a hand to set the ship on auto-pilot Ella begun to turn her seat around to look at Jack.

"My reasons for bringing you to Humbarine changed the moment Vyrassu came to my world. I was going to have you assassinate Sullchiri Ridall so as to secure my election as Humbarine's Senator, but that became unnecessary. The only reason why I have kept you around for this long after what happened is because the two of us must come to an understanding of the way things are now."

Ella paused, far longer than she needed too. It was an uncomfortable silence between them now as she stared at him. It was an intimidating look from a woman as small as she was. Before Jack could break the silence, however, Ella begun to speak again. "Instead of returning to the Jen'ari after this why don't you join me instead? We can work together as you go between your duties between both of us."

Vyrassu made his way down to the massive hangar with [member="Darth Aegis"]. Vyrassu noticed thousands of Sith Trooperd and his Shadow Guards as well as the Jen'ari Marauders Vyrassu and Lord Aegis walked through the isle of Imperial forces boarding his personal Lambda shuttle, the Shadow Guards boarded with Vyrassu. Everyone sat down as the pilots started up the shuttle and lifted off leaving the hangar headed to the planet.

Once on the planet the shuttle entered a massive dome with a massive metropolitan city inside it. Vyrassu had the pilot land on one of various landing pads on the building where they were meeting the republic. Once Vyrassu's shuttle landed, the ramp lowered and out piled the black robed red visor shadow guards holding a Pike that was actually lightsaber pikes. Behind them was Vyrassu and Lord Aegis. The pair walked in the building and proceeded down a long hallway where he noticed [member="Ella Nova"] and [member="Jack Anderson"] giving them both a nod as they all passed them into the meeting room where Vyrassu instantly noticed [member="Tobias Dracks"] and nodded to him. The shadow guards waited outside the room lining the hallway.

Vyrassu looked to the Vice Chancellor of the republic. Vyrassu then spoke to him, when he did his voice was heavy, slight rasp with a light echo. Vyrassu Voice sample (Vitiate's voice) Now to think, this scene hasn't happened in over 4,000 years. When the Sith Empire and the Republic made an alliance to defeat Darth Revan and the Revanites. Pitty it had to be the First Order and the current joke of a pitiful Sith Empire ran by Emperor crybaby I mean Carnifex that had to bring us together, isn't that fancy....vice chancellor. Vyrassu looked around the room admiring it. Vyrassu's body had an ominous red glow to it with what appeared as red smoke stems coming from his body. Vyrassu's face still hidden behind is black mask with red glowing eyes.

Jack considerd what Ella said, she was offering to train him, and still allow him to remain as part of the Jen’ari Order, it sounded like pretty sweet deal thinking about it. It would give Jack the chance to learn form more people and learn a bunch or different things from different perspectives, he hoped that having a diverse training background would give him an advantage in the future. He also thought it was kinda funny how Vyrassu in the process of karking everything up also solved the problem that Jack was called to fix, it wasn’t often one problem fixed another.

“Are you offerin’ to train bosmang? Because if you wanna do that I’m kinda, between masters at the moment and the Jen’ari is a bit short on experienced ones to pass me off to.”

Jack managed to deal with the intimidating glear just fine, seen as he’s had to deal with the same, but somehow worse from Darth Vyrassu on a semi regular basis.

Ella blinked when she heard the response he had given her. She had expected him to accept the offer outright. But instead of accepting it he had tried to compromise by explaining that he was already caught between other teachers of the dark side. They must be poor teachers. You display very little knowledge of the dark side, Anderson. Breaking into a casual smile Ella replied: "Does it really matter to you? Think about it. Do you really care about the Jen'ari or do you care about yourself?"

As Ella spoke the dashboard bleeped to alert the pilot that the Initium was about to drop out of hyperspace. Turning around in her seat Ella lowered her gaze to Duro before tapping into the Republic frequencies to alert them of their arrival. "This is Senator Nova of Humbarine. Sending my access codes and requesting permission to land."

As she waited for her codes to be accepted Ella turned to look back at Jack expectantly to hear his answer.

“Oi, I wasn’t turning ya down, I was saying that the Jen’ari didn’t have anyone to teach me anyway, I was accepting it.” Jack wanted to add you karking idiot to the end of the sentence, but thought better of it and kept it to himself, the last thing he wanted to do at the moment was piss off a potential teacher.

“As for that second question, the Jen’ari’s great and all, but if tied me down and threatened to cut my member off if I didn’t pick I’d be saying I’m more important before you couldn’t even get the first knot tied. I just like to get into a habit of betraying someone who’s paid or otherwise helped me, well not unless I’m strong enough to kick their ass halfway across the galaxy without breaking a sweat.”

Jack always had a peaking order in his head, and he was at the top, followed by anyone important to him, and the way below that was everyone else.

| [member="Jack Anderson"] |

Perhaps it was the way he spoke but clearly Ella had misunderstood what Anderson had meant to say. The fact that he had yet to be trained was a better sign than someone who had learned some of the ways of the dark side but still displayed little to no understanding. In this way Ella was pleased. It was like have a fresh canvas in which to draw upon rather than having to change bits and pieces here or there to get to the finished article.

"Good. Your first lesson then is to learn the following axiom: learn to never trust others, but instead, learn to trust their motives or what makes them do what they do. Through understanding and careful analysis of your victims you can begin to see what they want and from there you can use that knowledge to twist and turn them to do what you want."

Turning back around in her seat Ella saw that her codes had been accepted and that a landing zone had been transmitted to her navigational computer. She set the ship on course for the landing zone and reengaged the automatic pilot so that the Initium would fly without her having to control it. Locking her eyes back onto Jack's she continued to speak.

"There was once upon a time when our people- the Sith- wore armour and weapons. They went out into the galaxy to wage war and crusades. There are still many that do this, many who gather Star Destroyers above an unsuspecting world, for example, to announce themselves. But I realised that this way gets us no-where. The time for this has passed. Our time now is to put aside our instruments of war and instead wear our cloaks as we traverse the galaxy. Hiding in plain sight, undoing our enemies from within, and subtle pushes will be far more effective than all out war."

Leaving Jack to consider her words Ella stood up from her seat and closed the cockpit door behind her as she made her way to the back. There she begun to change out of the normal clothes that she had been wearing into the robes that she normally wore when she was representing Humbarine in diplomatic talks or other Senator functions.

-- He only scoffed as he could not make facial features at the joke of the Grandmaster of the Republic Jedi Enclave. Leaning back into his seat he listened to the women, "The man called himself...."

-- The Vice Chancellor was cut off with the entrance of the man of the hour, [member="Darth Vyrassu"]. The man looked menacing and scary, at least compared to the average citizen. Tobias was not fazed one bit however, wearing his armor and being protected by his guards the presence that the man attempted to present on him was pushed to the side by the mans many years of training, experience, and living through much more. He stayed seated while the man entered and he offered a joyful tone in response of the mans deep toned voice. "Darth Vyrassu I believed we were told, it really is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance and this historical moment in our lifetime," His joyful tone changed as his eyes narrowed with the similarities of a man who was not let in on the joke, "However, we have not agreed to any kind of Alliance as of yet, and so far I am going to be frank Dark Lord but your show above one of our worlds has only shown that your order only knows Fear and Strength," His head tilted ever so slightly as he felt a sort of betrayal at amassing a fleet above one of his worlds and then stating an alliance, though the Sith Lord would not be able to sense his emotions. "Inform me how an alliance between us could be benificial when the Sith Empire has no attempts to attack the Republic in its current state?"

Vyrassu simply smiles listening to the vice chancellor. Once he finishes speaking he gives Alexandra a nod and sits down. It's simple, you're not a big enough threat to them yet, but keep expanding your territory and forces and they eventually will take notice, then what, if your forces are not big enough they'll crush you. So explain to me, how do you plan on handling them once you've become big enough to be a threat to them.

Vyrassu sits back in the chair remaining calm and focused not worried about the fact that the odds are against him.

“I am a, or at least was, a mercenary, I’ve got no karking clue what I am now, but I’ve already leaned that lesson the hard way, not to trust anyone. I’ve been tooled by enough scum on low end jobs who think that being king of tauntaun poodoo road entitles them to wave a half functional holdout at me claiming they want the job for free. I can sniff their type out at a hundred paces, and where they hide their stash.” Although that wasn’t entirely true, there was still a handful of people in the galaxy that Jack felt he could trust with his life, though most of them have proven it to the point where what they put in was more than what they’d get from a successful betrayal, but that still showed he hadn't actually entirely learned that lesson.

Jack continued to listen, Darth Arya telling him about the Sith and some of their flaws, it was kinda interesting, at least to Jack, it would explain why there was a period of time that he had been unable to find anything on the Sith during his time digging on his own, he thought they had died off for a time, but, maybe there was more like Darth Arya, more who had chosen to hide and get stronger in secret. Jack had a secret that he never let anyone in on, in his teen years he was quite the nerd, so he knew a bit about how to connect the crumbs. Jack had thought someone had just rediscovered the teachings and used them to bring the Sith back, but maybe he was wrong, maybe they had gone into hiding working from the inside just like Darth Arya wanted to do.

But all that left Jack with one question though. "Why, of all the beings in the galaxy, did you pick me? A solider, a man who knows and understands the value of fleets and armies, to teach working things from the inside."

The landing clamps of the Initium lowered themselves down as the automatic pilot begun landing procedures. Ella lifted her gaze as she finished pulling the last sleeve of her robe onto her body as Jack entered the room. She listened to his answer to her words, understanding the confusion. He had yet to learn the ways of the dark side, yet understood that he was on the precipice of taking the step over.

She remembered the elating feeling she had felt the day that she had murdered her family as she had taken that step herself. At first she had felt emotions of guilt, anger, self-loathing, and worry that she would be caught for her heinous crimes. But the woman she had stepped over the line and into her arms had dealt with the murders so that she had not been caught, and from that day forward she had been the apprentice to Darth Pandeima, the last surviving heir of the Rule of Two. As Ella listened to Jack she wondered what he had done to take this step to the dark side.

"Why did I pick you?" Ella repeated. "There was no reason. There never has to be a reason for anything. I required an assassin to kill a rival so that I could take the position I am in now on Humbarine, and the Jen'ari sent you to do it for me. Things escalated and changed, leaving the two of us intertwined for the moment. I teach you because I test you, and I test you because I require someone to continue my work long after I die. Do well, and learn the ways of the dark side, and you could become that person. There was no fate, no agreement made between me or Vyrassu, no contemplation on the matter. You are just an unextraordinary person who can become extraordinary, if you want too."

Falling silent Ella lowered her gaze down to the ground. She begun to murmur in dialects Jack could not understand beneath her breath. As she did there was a shift in the room. The lights begun to flicker, and he felt something surround him, a distinctive energy that would shield him. When Ella opened her eyes she had completed the ritual of the False Light Aura on herself and Jack. Even now, she could sense the Jedi on this world. They felt familiar to her.

Lifting a hand to the doors of the Initium Ella walked down the landing ramp of her ship onto Duro for the first time. She did not stop to take it all in, but instead proceeded to the meeting that Darth Vyrassu had called with the leaders of the New Republic, leading Jack into the building with her.

~
Ella entered the building and turned into the room that the meeting had been set up in, learning that it had already begun without her. Taking her seat Ella remained silent so as to not interrupt what was being said. Folding one leg over the other she leaned backwards in her seat, arms folded over her knee and the device in her ear recording what was being said.

[member="Ella Nova"] was right about one thing, Jack was on the precipice of taking that final step, while he did have training in the dark side, nothing had happened yet to truly set his path in that darkness, it was something Jack didn’t actually know himself, but unless someone actively tried to pull him away from it at some point Jack would push himself over the edge. He’d done so many things others would consider him irredeemable for having done, but he still had the occasional regret about most of it, only when he could look back at everything he had done, and not feel that pang of regret would Jack actually realize his past was set in stone.

“Huh? I always thought Sith chose their apprentices because they say something in them, or some other sort of poodoo, I guess that’s not always true.” Jack said and shrugged, gathering the gear he wore last time, just to help him look the part of the mercenary, although this time his lightsaber was hidden in a leather ammunition pouch rather than just kept hidden by his duster. “Well sayin’ that I ain’t special ain’t exactly gonna hurt my feelings, I’m a big boy, I know I gotta put in the time and effort if I wanna become something special.”

Jack was about to continue speaking when he heard Darth Arya start to chant under her breath, so he shut up and waited, suddenly he felt himself wrapped in what felt like an icy blanket, it was uncomfortable but bearable, he could feel the light coming off of the pair of them now, whatever she had done seemed to be towards then end of concealing the duo’s dark auras, even though Jack’s was significantly weaker and probably just would have blended into Darth Vyrassu’s it was clear that there would be no risks taken.

When Ella left the ship for the meeting Jack followed her and headed to take up a possition against the wall behind her, so he could act like what he used to be, a hired gun. For a moment on his way over to the wall, his false light, and Vyrassu’s dark auras rubbed and interacted for just a moment, something not exactly suspicious, but it gave Jack the chance to pass of a mental salute, since he couldn’t make any physical show of respect, or anything too big mentally beyond this small gesture that to a closely observant outsider just looking like two auras accidentally interacting.

Alexandra Feanor

The Lady in Silver/Grey Historian
[member="Tobias Dracks"] and [member="Darth Vyrassu"] started to speak and almost instantly Alexandra's eyes narrowed as she looked at the man speaking on the other side of the room. The old her started poking through the many changes that Vyrassu would not even suspect to be the woman who was once under the sith. She was no Sith anymore, she was no Echani either, she was the furthest thing from what Vyrassu would even remember and she had no intention of bringing up their past connections... That did not mean she would stop from speaking about the man.

"When we are big enough to be a threat, I would assume that means we would have the power to defend outselves without the help of mass murderers and monsters. And unlike your people, we aren't united by one, very fragile, very Mortal leader that once dead they would separate and fracture. Your people only follow you because you bring fear and death to those who wont follow you." She paused and looked at Tobias, not stopping.

"While the Republic stands for something more. It is not run by one person, but millions. Our people fight for the base freedoms and liberties to do as they so choose within the law. To say what they wish, no matter how treasonous it might sound as long as actions are not taken and people are harmed. Your people follow because of fear, where ours fight for the government they created and built with their own hands."

"If I killed you now, you would have no legacy, no empire left behind your death. Only a forgotten existence Vyrassu. So I would be more worried about your Empire than our Republic in regards to the danger of The Sith Empire."

-- Tobias was not entertained by this little show by the Dark Lord, and currently he could not find the meeting of anything other then the Vice Chancellor coming face to face with a Sith Lord. He was about to speak when he notice Senator [member="Ella Nova"] enter the room with her hired protection. He could only guess where the Senatorial Guard were, he assumed she wanted to be protected by her own choice. This was not uncommon of the New Republic Senators, Independence was the name of the game and being protected by Republic Guards only showed they could not protect themselves. So he just nodded and was about to talk when the Grandmaster nearly erupted in an attack towards the Sith Lord.

-- In unison the Republic Knights stood at the ready with their hand on their lightsabers at the threat that [member="Alexandra Feanor"] had hurrled at the sith. They had assumed the Vice Chancellor would agree with the Jedi Master, however, Tobias lifted his hand next to his head. The four Knights in the room stood down and at attention. Tobias only looked at the Jedi Master, "Master Feanor I think you have misunderstood the Dark Lord, remember this is a diplomatic talks and not a duel of threats."

-- He looked back at [member="Darth Vyrassu"], "I have heard that you Force Users have the ability to see the future, is there some kind of vision you saw where the Republic is in threat of becoming struck by the Sith Empire," He looked with a curious look within his yellow pinpoint eyes, difficult to read he would seem as if he was interested in this question. "We helped with the Liberation of Commenor, yet the Sith Empire had not sent in forces to retake the planet or stricken losses against our naval forces, what if accepting your offer of help would plunge us into a war, what then could you offer to assist the Republic to take on the risk?"

Vyrassu disgusted at what Alexandra said, Alexandra knowing held a dark secret about her. Vyrassu was smart though and would never release such information. Vyrassu turned back to Tobias, looking at him through his mask. Vice Chancellor, My life spans millennia. Legions have risen to test me. My ascendance is inevitable. A day, a year, a millennium, it matters not. I hold the patience of stone and the will of stars. You know my style of life, Sith, traitors, liars, murders, hatred donning fear upon the galaxy. So let's get some stuff clear. One, as I've said I've lived for thousands of years, over 5,000 to be exact. I've seen the same repeated attempt time over time, the republic got big, Sith attacked it, it's happened numerous times. So in a way yes, I forsee Carnifex leading his legions to rise against you in the future. Two, let's be real we both know I really don't care for you, about you, or even wanting to do this, but my Order is back, and there is one force standing in my way of creating a new style Sith Empire. So yes I'm here discussing this to meet my own ends, but my ends help you.

Vyrassu thought for a moment. The biggest question I see you contemplating on is how do you know I won't betray you, you're right to think that, but....you don't know, all you have is my word, as meaningless as it is to you. I want a Sith Empire of peace, a Sith society to strive, not galactic dominance. Yes in my past I have ravished worlds, killed thousands, millions, destroyed lives. But, I'm of a dying breed vice chancellor, I've left a scorned mark on the galaxy indeed, but now I look to leave another mark, one of a rich society of Sith that grow and prosper without ever the thought of war. For balance, both light and dark must exist, or none shall exist.

Vyrassu lifts hits head looking on awaiting more words from Tobias.
