Renewing The Awaud Contract

Moisture and scents of the great sea waft up into the air as the roar of the waves broke upon the rocky shore. Allana breathed in that life with vigor. Her dress rippled in the soft breeze that blew up from the ocean. Her azure eyes could hardly contain her excitement as she took in the beautiful sea.

The Great Gallinore Sea was a true marvel within The Transitory Mists. The rich crystal blue of its deaths was captivating as well as the Rainbow Gems that were plucked out of the sea. The gems were not the only product that Gallinore produced. It was just one of the more well known.

Commerce was the main topic for the day. Allana had a number of appointments today. Her next appointment was with a man from Clan Awaud. The Alor wished to reestablish his contract to transport goods through the Transitory Mists. Encouraging legal work sounded like a more logical course to Allana. It kept people hands from becoming idol.

The man walked in his Viceroy Uniform, as the CEO and Chairman of the United Trade Conglomerate he was to always keep up appearances as he was of the higher class. This was not his first time working with the Hapans, and in truth he rather enjoyed their culture as well as their sense of ethics to the rest of the galaxy. Overall he enjoyed their women. Not in the person to person type of way, he was too old now to be tempted by the flesh. It was their attitude and grace, as well as their deep understanding of duty and honor. The men had it as well, but what made the women attractive was they were always harder to please.

Walking behind the Palace Guard as he was escorted to the area he was to meet with the Queen, he could not stop his wondering eyes as they caught minor details in the architecture as well as just the works of art that were meticulously placed to keep ones eyes able to bounce around perfectly. He new very little about the customs of this new reign. A previous student, a member of a lesser Hapan Family had informed him that there was recently a Rebellion on the planet that was very relevant to the sector of space. He only knew that his contract from nearly 10 years ago must had been forgotten or destroyed during that time. Transportation through the Transitory Mists was one of thee most important routes within the UTC Database. Since the fall of Ossus and the Galactic Alliance, Supply lines to and from Commenor were accessible by only three paths, The Hydian Way, Kashyyk Pass, and the Transitory Mists. Brentaal was under constant Sith Raids over the last couple of months, the bulk of the Corporate Armada was working on clearing the planet for trade, so closed at the moment. The tensions between the Silvers and the Mandos were too high to risk sending his goods through that pass, and thus unwilling to take the risk. This left the Transitory Mists, and if he was to continue to supply the Mandalorain contract of raw goods and export agriculture to the CSA he needed them to renew their agreement.

Jaster was brought into the area where he was to meet with a Queen [member="Allana Badeaux"], leader of the Hapan People, and Queen of the Hapes Consortium. When the doors opened he felt the ocean breeze wash cleanly across his face, the smell of the salty sea was bliss against the old sailors nose. How long had it been since he could enjoy the ocean, must had been over 13 years. He focused his mind again, work was here and it needed to be done.

Stepping forward he bowed his head and placed his right hand into a fist and over his chest. "Greetings Queen Badeaux," His Hapan pronunciation of her name was a little off, been some time since he had spoken their language. "Jaster Awaud, Alor of Clan Awaud and Viceroy of the United Trade Conglomerate, I am honored you accepted my request for an audience your majesty."

Allana could not help but listen to the flow of the ocean. Its steady motion had a rhythm, a rhythm that easily connected with the soul. She had found it soothing and spoke to her very center. The sounds of life associated with it did not distract. The chirping of the local birds seemed to blend into its soothing song.

Her breathing was steady but her heart was in awe as she soaked that peace within. The brief moment of respite dimmed the noise of the Force Wound she had taken in.
Then the sound of a door…

It was not unexpected. Gracing her features with welcoming smile, Allana turned to great those entering onto the balcony with her. It was Jaster and a couple Royal Guards. The man’s words seemed pleasant enough. He was respectful, well respectful enough for someone that was from outside of the Mists. Allana was not shallow nor showed no distain for the small details like improper pronunciation.

“Su Cuy’gar”, the word flowed through the Queen’s lips as if it was her first language. It was not however. Her political education was extensive. That included languages of cultures that lived close to the Mists. The Mando’ade culture was large enough and close enough to be considered a high priority in her education. To be able to properly great your guest was a very polite thing to do.

“Welcome to the château Loire’an”, the other half of the sentence was finished in Galactic Common. When she spoke the galactic language the accent of the Hapes people could be heard.

“Your travel must have been extensive”, her eyes twinkled with thought.

“Our guest must be thirsty”, the Queen Mother azure eyes looked upon the two guards. “Please go see to brining us a bottle of wine and two glasses.”

It seemed very hospitable to offer a guest a drink. It also seemed like a very find day to enjoy a drink while looking out over the spectacular view.

The two guards bowed then took their leave. Was it uncommon for Royal Guards to leave their Queen unattended? Yes it was it normally was.

The mandalorian recovered from is bow and heard as [member="Allana Badeaux"] spoke the words of his people. It was interesting to see a Hapan women drop custom to respect a guest with greetings of his native language. He cracked a smile at the perfect pronunciation of the greetings. To out show an outsider was something he sure enjoyed about the Hapes.

Answering her as he took a few steps forward, though continued to keep a secure distance as not to act out the guards. Alone they may be, but he knew royalty was never alone. His friendship with the Queen of Commenor taught him that. "I was on Mandalore ma'am, traveling from Wild Space to offer a customer tactical advise," He paused for a second then continued on, "After out meeting I will be traveling to Commenor and then to the Unknown Region to negotiating the navigation of a new Trade Lane," He smiled a little as an old man would, "No rest for those with a Goal they say."

He could not help but look pas the queen, "A wonderful view, your majesty," Jaster remembered the last time he was here, "The Gallinore Sea truly is beautiful this time of year."

“Indeed she is very beautiful”, the twinkling of the sea reflected within her azure eyes.

“Within in her arms her sweat lips does whisper”, the poetic but cryptic words flowed from the young lady. It was remarkable day and it was hard not to get inspired.
There was still politics and trade deals to discuss. The Queen Mother had not forgotten.

“Commoner”, the words dramatically flowed from her lips. There was a hint of surprise maybe mixed with a little excitement. “So you do a lot of trade within the Commoner Space? Sadly I’ve not had much contact with them. Please feel free to give your opinion of them”, the young Queen Mother opened up the possibility of finding out why Jaster wished to do trade within Commoner and, well maybe find out a little more about her neighbor. Certainly she had heard rumors. Jaster’s trade interaction would not be rumor. How was the man treated within Commoner Space?

[member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"]

Mel stepped into the room from another having taken care of business she joined [member="Allana Badeaux"] and [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] . She heard some of the conversation and smiled They were discussing Commenor. As the Commerce Minister she attended many of these meetings getting a feel for who everyone was and comparing their offerings to others that now managed to get through the mists.

There were rumors about the planet and the system but she would listen and see if what she heard compared with what this representative said. She bowed to her Queen then stood quietly with her hands folded waiting for their visitor to finish speaking.

If anything she could be polite but he was a off-worlder and they did need them. From what she saw of the invitation he was Mandalorian. Their new keepers, yes she knew that they maintained their own sovereignty but still it was an uncomfortable feeling knowing that someone could on a whim make their lives miserable.

The sea was a wonderful mixture of the different shades of blue, his eyes could only tell the difference of the sky and the ocean by the distant clouds. He rarely took in the sights as he use to, the man was a merchant by nature and never found himself on a planet for long. Even the few places he called home were limited in comparison to his time spent standing on Durasteel bulkheads. There was little to complain about, he loved space, finding the things that others forgot about. Unlike land, space does not forget the history in its voids.

As the queen spoke in poetic rhythms, one he remembered hit his mind. Mesmerism by the sea it escaped his brain, "Within her eyes, she keeps our deepest secretes." He realized it escaped his lips and bowed his head, "Apologies, seems one gets sentimental in my old age."

She spoke of Commenor. It was not out of the norm for one to be mystified by the Commenoran culture and governing, in truth they were a rarity that was only read in the history books. He knew the place very well, he remembered the day his friend [member="Lady Kay"] became a senator of the planet. "Ah," He started, however he stopped as another person entered [member="Melanctha Dallamoor"]. Once he realized [member="Allana Badeaux"] made no objections to her he continued, "Commenor is a planet of its own caliber, in my 32 years traveling the space lanes I do not think I have ever seen a people as interesting as itself, Queen Arenais is an enigma wrapped in a mystery, her government is a special one at that and one of the great trade centers of the Core." He paused to think of the words to describe why he does most if not all his work there. "The Queen and her government have special trade significant being as it was neutral in nearly all conflicts since its inception, their trade lanes are the most prime for my sort of business, it is were I take all my goods before transporting it to worlds that are at war with one another, as I get all my goods from the Unknown Region, Commenor is the center of where all my trade is exported and sent to the various governments that require them."

He felt as if this was a good time to advertise his ware, "From the newly explored worlds of the Unknown Region to the long profitable worlds of the Hutt Territories, even worlds within the First Order or the old Silver Jedi worlds, I trade in all types of goods and gains and Commenor is the best to transport from as it holds space lanes to all corners of the galaxy and all brimming with the peace and prosparity that the government fights tooth and nail for everyday for its citizens."

He remembered the last time he spoke to Kay and her morals of isolationism. 'No Commenoran will fight in a foreign war that does not justify the end goal that can be achieved in a diplomatic means.' It was truly a awful sight to see their space lanes on their boarders being assaulted by the Sith. Being as he was a merchant of their nation, he felt the weight of their pressure, but Jaster beat the Sith one time, and if they raided across his ships again he would show them his true nature. He did not mind them personally, so long as his business was not interrupted and those under his protection were not assaulted.

Allana Badeaux

Ta’a Chume – Queen Mother
The Queen Mother was not offended. She also was not going to deny a gentleman to apologies after such a small breach of protocol. It helped that the court was not watching of course. Such a small slight would have been addressed in such company. As such, they were not and they were somewhat alone. So she said nothing. She kept smiling as nothing as a slight ever happened.

Anyways the conversation slipped into something she was more interested in, the discussion of Commoner. Allana had heard rumors but it was not always best to just take rumors for face value.

Allana allowed her mind drift into the conversation. Paying close attention detail was critical. She did not wish to be like her former predecessors and just believe all outsiders were barbarians. It was a common believe within the Consortium. It was a daily topic among some of her court. Allana’s choices were not popular with all of the Duch’as.

Luckily Allana had some supporters like Melanctha Dallamoor who had just joined them on the balcony. Allana was sure the noble had her own goals and ambitions. Mel had on several occasions talked about the benefits of having some friends while suggesting caution at the same time. It was the only thing Alalana was asking for. No government in this galaxy could stay neutral forever. There were some kingdoms out there that wished to destroy or enslave the whole of the galaxy. That was a threat to the Sovereignty of the Hapes Consortium.
Allana’s mind had opened. She knew dangers her people did not. Such as Force Wounds and how they are created.

She also some neighbors quarreled with each other and sometimes just over misunderstandings. Often many wars were started over misunderstandings.

Hearing how Jaster had been treated helped. Knowing for the most part The Commoner System was a neutral entity helped. Allana personally did not know of anything that disagrees with that stamen. Still she was a Happen Queen and like them all she was cautious, hence why all of the questions.

At some point Allana was going to make it appoint to sit down with the Queen of Commoner [member="Lady Kay"] . There was nothing wrong in talking to people that are affected by her polices to get a better understanding of her.

“Yes, that does sound lucrative”, she said in response to Jaster speaking of the Commoner System being a good staging ground to do his business. “The flow of commerce could benefit Hepes as well”, she said though the Consortium had all they really needed as in wealth and resources. The Transitory Mists provided well for her people.

It would give a boosts to her people economy. It could bring in new and interesting technology such as methods to heal. Why not lift your people up if you could?

“It has the possibly to just help my people but your Clan as well. Not to mention there is a high chance of commerce between the Consortium and The Commoner System. They will mean I will have to approach the Commoner System Government and set some sort of trade agreement. Such whole in communication could bread lawlessness between here and the Commoner System. It would put your people in danger not to mention anyone else caught between such greed”, was it wrong for a Queen to think of the innocents that could be harmed by inaction?

[member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] [member="Melanctha Dallamoor"]

Should she say now how she had read about the Commenori Defense Minister while supposedly on vacation took part in attacking Alderaan. Was it worth it? Probably not it was very publicized and the offender was exiled and stripped of titles. This was something she would speak to her Queen in private about. That was the problem with holo news programs they told everything but they never gave all the details, so perhaps there was something Mel did not know.

She listened however to [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] words he genuinely believed in what he said, he seemed to mean well. But then he was a man and an outsider so how trustworthy was his word? Again she would have to wait and see.

Mel cleared her throat an indication she wanted her Queen to wait before making any official promises. "I would be remiss in my duties as your advisor Queen Mother the renewal of an agreement with Alor Awaud would likely prove beneficial to his clan and to the Consortium. I would...caution going close to the Core worlds until we can verify what is brought before us for ourselves."

[member="Allana Badeaux"]

Jaster nodded at all the points provided by [member="Allana Badeaux"]. The trade agreement and the rights this protectorate state received from Mand'alor the Infernal was something he could not ignore. As he already knew, the Trade within the Arm was something of a all new beast. Goods from his trade network could flow at a all new untold trillions. Jaster traded in Raw Goods, processed goods were too much for his blood. However, this made his shipments a very juicy target. His main transportation through this region was mostly Terraforming Gasses. What was transported back was Mandalorain Iron.

It was the voice of her advisory, [member="Melanctha Dallamoor"], that seemed more Hapan then the Queen. Her warning was fair, but his business man just could not remiss the chance to do a little magic. "Very true ma'am, but this is a Chaotic Galaxy we live in today and no one does anything for free, so here I must ask," He pause with his hands behind his back, "If you do not wish to break your understanding of seclusion, then why not let a middleman do the dealing, the United Trade Conglomerate can procure any and all good you may require, Gems from Subterrera, Crystals from Nar'Jedha, the toughest metals from Mandalore, or even the precious Coaxium from Kessel."

He nodded his head, "Commenor like any great nation that stretches beyond its star system is known to have a bad apple or two, but once they are primed and plucked by the roots it is bound to happen again," Walking two steps to the left he stopped, "There can even be a little deal to be done above board that works for everyone."

His Business smile was too difficult to hide, but he did do his best. "Here is my offer, the UTC is allowed transportation through and for the Hapes Consortium, we are allowed Military Access for our Corporate Navy with Hapan Military Escort, and the Consortium Government will receive a 10% of transported goods in product or credits transferred as Tariff Payment."

Magic if she had heard his words about magic she would have scoffed at him but she was not a mind reader instead she did her best not to smile but to keep her emotions in check. She had to turn her head for a moment to keep the grin from being seen. When she lifted her head she was back in control.

"let a middle man do the dealing for the Consortium." Mel pondered for a moment or at least pretended to. "Perhaps because we have seen what can happen when we leave things up to...men. What is it you say...a Mandalorian never forgets...neither do Hapans." He surely would understand how their history would play into their actions, just as mandalorian history and memories drive them in their actions. She felt she had made her point.

"Bad apples." She nodded, "yes one or two bad apples who are pat upon the head and sent to their room without dinner. Yes My Queen they have bad apples as Alor [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] has stated. Bad apples who could cross our borders and bring with them whatever form of calamity with them upon our Consortium"

Mel stepped closer wanting to ensure that the Alor understood his place in this court. A representative of a company seeking persmission to bring his fleets through their space.

"I can guarantee you Alor Awaud that if any bad apples come to the Consortium it won't be a pat on the head they receive" She nodded slightly indicating her point was made.

"10% is not enough considering what rights you seek will do for your company, you have a product where the market can bear a higher price to remain competitive. At 15% the Consortium would not feel so slighted by your company crossing our space." Mel stepped back and then looked up to her Queen.

"I recommend my Queen 15% and none but Mandalorians cross our space, no one from Core to be given access to the paths through the consortium without the consortium's permission." She'd keep the rest of those foreigners in their place.

Allana Badeaux

Ta’a Chume – Queen Mother
As the discussion contained a single servant came out with a bottle of wine and three glasses. The servant said nothing. She sat the tray of the table on the balcony and made her leave.

Allana made her way over to the try. Typically Hapan Royals and nobles were very careful. This only pertained to Hapen politics and they played a very dangerous game with each other. On occasion some nobles killed each other to climb in political standing. Poison was a common weapon and servants leaving wine like this was suspicious. Normally the servant tastes the wine first. This one did not.

Allana, the Queen Mother acted as if nothing was wrong. Did she know something they did not? Or was she being careless? She did go and pour herself a drink while Mel and Jaster were discussing a trade agreement.

Both were playing nicely into the Queen’s thoughts. She did have her own plans. Thought it was always nicer when you did not have to persuade someone. Things went so much smother when others were more willing.

Well they were playing nicely for the most part.

“15%”, Allana took a sip of the whine. She did not violently start shaking or foam spewing out her mouth. Then again Allana was unique in the galaxy. Thanks to certain Force Skills most passions were not much of a threat to Force Users. Allana was not most Force User.

“The Duch’a is my Council on Commerce. It would do ill if I did not listen her advice on economic matters”, truthfully Allana was less interested in the tariffs. It was something that had to be set in order for everything to remain in balance. In balance to comparison of what though? In balance to the continued old politics of the Consortium or Allana’s vision of the future?

The wine was not obviously poisoned, though it may have looked reckless from Melanctha’s perception.

“At this time I will not be discussing any access into the Transitory Mists other then the people of the Hapes Consortium and our Mando’ade Empire friends. I’ve already discussed their access with Mand’alore the Infernal.”

There was still that mater of tariffs unfortunately. “What do you think of the 15% Alor Jaster”, Allana put this in a form of a question rather than demand anything. This was not a matter of greed for her. She had wealth.

[member="Melanctha Dallamoor"] [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"]

Jaster only stood there as he listened to the Duch’a and her counter offer, it was not a bad offer and one his company could deal with. However, he looked at it long term and the amount of trade that would be provided to the Mandalorain War Machine would prove to be expensive in the future. 15% of War Materials were extremely expensive and could make a significant dent in the other trades. Increasing the price of his good would solve it, but how long could refugees and war torn planets afford such prices with the Sith and First Order now in a stand still.

The man listened to the Queen Mother as she started to walk to the Tray of Drinks. He paid no mind to it, the UTC was a company built on the backs of Slaves, Refugees, and Loyalist who served him as Mercs. The man did not have a concept of being betrayed by a Employee or Outside forces.

"Fifteen Percent is not a bad offer," He paused as he lifted his arm across his body and rested the elbow of the other as that hand went up to his lips. "However, I trade in Warships and Civilian Craft that can cost upwards of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Credits on Market, as well as bulk orders of Mandalorain Iron, Food, and Refined Metals that sell in the ball park of Two Hundred Thousand Credits, Fifteen percent on tariff laws it pretty large to say the lease," He tapped his lip and sighed a little, "For your generousity in meeting with me, I can offer Twelve Percent of transported goods through transit as well as going on Hapan Market."

[member="Allana Djo"] [member="Melanctha Dallamoor"]

Just what she thought he would do haggle with her though she thought he would have gone to 11 from his original of ten. She had been prepared for this, "13" she said calmly not interested in the drink at this moment.

It didn't mix well with negotiations people made mistakes when they drank, she would have a drink after. Mel tried to play nice as nice as any Hapan would considering all things. Her caramel colored eyes stayed upon the Alor she waited would he make another counter, or would he throw something else in there. He had offered some other opportunities, was he referring to intelligence, or was he thinking that Mel would take some form of kick back for bartering?

She would NEVER do so in front of her Queen. There were things that the Consortium offered....hmm she had to think on that. She kept her thoughts to herself while working through a list of things currently in inventory on Hapes. hmm....there was the Song of War to think about........hmm..

Allana Badeaux

Ta’a Chume – Queen Mother
A counter offer, Allana’s ears picked up as she took another sip.

Things were certainly starting to get interesting as she now heard Mel come in with another counter offer. This was certainly Mel’s area. Allana just did not negotiate numbers like this. She is a clear politician but it was clever words and not numbers she played.

Not wishing to intervene at what she believed to be a delicate moment, Allana remained silent. They could be on the edge of a verbal agreement on numbers.

[member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] [member="Melanctha Dallamoor"]

The Mandalorian smiled as he tapped his chin with his index finger. He knew the counter offer was coming, and in truth he would have been surprised if they accepted his offer. This was their nation and he was a guest to say the least, as well a new partner.

He looked to [member="Melanctha Dallamoor"] and nodded, "Thirteen percent is agreeable ma'am." He took his hands from his mouth to his sides and bowed a little. "You are a tough negotiator Madam, but I promise you will not come to regret this meeting."

He then looked to [member="Allana Djo"] and bowed his head as he pulled a object from his pocket. To small to be a weapon, but placed it on the tray next to the tea. It was a small data chip and a palm sized metal that looked similar to silver. "The objects that my company is known to transport as well as foreign metals and food goods, I also offer any assistance my company can offer to the people of Hapes." He bowed his head and awaited her response.

[member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] | [member="Allana Djo"]

Darn she had thought he would go a bit more with the haggling, she nodded, "We have an agreement then" She looked to the Queen it was now up to her. 13 was a good deal 10 was ok but 13 better.

She stepped back now and waited for the Queen to speak with the Alor

Allana Badeaux

Ta’a Chume – Queen Mother
Allana looked curiously at the object placed down upon the try. It was a data chip. Allana secretly being more familiar with computer equipment then what the open public believed, she knew well the model and make of the chip. Very few people knew what she did with her free time since she was a kid. Very few people knew over the Holonet she had another name people called her by. Diamond was not a name that everyone knew. The very few were Slicers that ran through the underground community of Slicers over the Holonet.

Allana place the data chip into a small slot in her bracelet. “Open”, with a smirk she asked the small computer held within her bracelet. A holographic display opened up of a computer screen. The screen held a desk top. The picture was of an even woman that must be a mage of some type, obviously from one of these holnet fantasy online games. She was wearing a beautiful white dress and some shiny silvery staff with a bright purple gem at the top.

Upon this desk top there was several windows of files to choose from. One such file read Project of Megos. Those familiar with the Hapes System would know Megos was a moon. The project Megos was not a common knowledge.

Another file was Jester’s chip and Allana tapped her finger upon the holo image of the file. It opened up and the information Jester wished to share was no visible for all three of them to look at. “Do you make all these types of ships”, she asked looking through the information. She was sure the answer was there in the file but why not ask questions? “What is this”, Allana clicked the file of the metal Jester was trying to share. The image linked to the file of the metal came up as a listing of its properties. He had a perfect opportunity to explain his wondrous find, at this very moment.

[member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"]

Jaster continued to look upon the Queen, he really did find her an interesting being to say the least. He did see through her attempts, but he was no gain from outing her at this moment. Moving his large trade network from Taris to Hapes showed a profit gain of nearly 200%. His main trade was Agriculture and Raw Metals, but he moved everything in bulk and this this was a much shorter route in means of transport. Letting her feel like he thought of her as a royal that knew nothing of trade or unable to make decisions on her own would go good for his.

He was struck however, [member="Allana Djo"] had asked what the metal was. She did have the means to surprise him, "That is Zeltec Ultra-Anium, it shares nearly similar properties to Phrik in it ability to absorb all forms of energy transfers and spread the energy, it was created by an ancient race of aliens that no longer exist and we are unable to duplicate the work," he looked at the metal, "Though my company has found ways to reforge the metal and mold it into whatever we desire, its strong enough to deflect hits from high energy weapons such as lightsabers and similar, though after a few blows it will start to melt."

The trader and explorer was very proud of this, it was on of his jewels in his crown of experience. His home that was stolen away from the First Order, though they continued to trade with him even after he left their service and transferred his headquarters. Weird Imperialist.

[member="Melanctha Dallamoor"]

Mel listened while watching this metal interested her she would like more information about it. Similar to phrik well then this was a precious metal. If she understood correctly, "Are you saying you must salvage the metal from things that have already been created from it?" If it could not be duplicated interesting at the very least.

She however tried to keep her place during this portion she was the one who got the numbers together it was the Queen [member="Allana Djo"] who made the orders.

Mel looked over to [member="Jaster of Clan Awaud"] waiting to ensure she understood him correctly.
