Remembering the Fallen(73rd Infantry and any other Republic people who wish to join)

Major Jusik sat in the corner of the hangar of a Salvation-Class Star Defender in hyperspace route to Kuat. His armor was covered in blood and oil, most it not his safe for a gash along the side of his head. The Star Defender had barely managed to evac himself and most of the 73rd before they were overrun.

Davin tossed his rifle to the side and held his head in his hands as it clanked. So many dead. So many of his troops. Civilians.

The whole rotting planet.

He wiped blood his face and stood, time to find out the damage.

He clicked his com and spoke in a rough voice.

"Casualty reports Captains."

Gezzo

Captain Gezzo, 73rd Infantry, Charlie Company CO
Gezzo was still dazed from the battle when he heard the Major's voice through his comm, "Casualty reports Captains."

Ha, that was a joke. A better question to ask would be 'who isn't dead?'. Gezzo clicked on his comm, and in turn, began his own clicks to notify his superior of the situation "As far as I know my whole company was wiped out, I was away from the base when the attack happened. When I went back I found that the base was being torn apart by some massive mining droid."

Everyone? The whole damn company. Davin felt taken aback at the thought.

"I'm sorry Gezzo. I'm sure some of them got out, they'll be sent to you when the Company Commanders check there wounded and KIA, though I know that's no large comfort."

Checking the wounded and dead also meant going through the whole Company's roster, so they'd definitely pop up. Davin retrieved his rifle and sat down, cleaning it and waiting for further replies.

Delila was in the Med Bay of the Star Defender with what little was left of her company. Twenty-seven soldiers out of one hundred and fifty were left. That was it. Every soldier left alive was currently in the Med bay being treated with herself. Some had serious wounds, the surgical gallery was in overdrive and men lay out in halls, waiting to be worked on next. Bacta tanks were filling up, hopefully every last being onboard could be saved.

Sitting on a hospital bed, waiting to be seen-Delila insisted her men get treated first, the Captain was surprised to hear Jusik's voice. It was something she wasn't expecting honestly. Forgot she had it in her ear. That tended to happen one was shot through the shoulder blade.

"Twenty-seven out of one fifty."

Davin felt his gut drop as his sister spoke those words. He had been CO of Bravo Company not four months ago and he knew nearly all of the troopers in Bravo personally. As his stomach turned he spoke a hesitant confirmation into his com.

"Roger that sis."

Davin needed to find 1st Batallion's CO, the steely veteran of the old Sith campaigns, Brigadier General Kelly. He jogged across the hangar toward the midshipman managing the hangar wide com and commandeered it.

"Brigadier General Kelly, report to the 73rd's designated hangar area immediately. If he is dead, whoever has this information please report it to Major Jusik 73rd, 1st Battalion."

Since Kelly hadn't responded to his earlier messages Davin assumed he'd either lost his helmet or was killed on planet. As he waited the latter seemed more probable. As he watched the various wounded being carted around the blue armor of a senate guard caught his attention. The blood that poured onto the well maintained hangar gave the room an unreal feeling. A man limped toward Davin and gave him a cold look. The man wore the uniform of a Republic Soldier and had a 203rd patch attached to the front of his armor next to a set of Captain ranks.

"Dead." The Captain said before turning about and limping off. Those eyes. Cold, like a walking dead man.

Now Davin was in command, he'd inform the others after everyone had been accounted for. More responsibility for Jusik to shoulder in these dark times.
