"THey have, some of them have been recorded. I have not read any of the reports of what has been said." He said it while sitting down and allowing some of the lizards to approach while his body went incredibly still. With the barest hint of his breathing being there for the moment. He breathed inwards and then outwards with a nod of his head for her. "The few times I have communed with them I have heard more about the beasts, that have formed here, that have been brought here. There is dangerous things that came with wars and even more then many of the other jedi have seen. A terentatek sub-species were brought here that are adapted to the waters and they live in the caves."

Talia settled into the meditation space, watching Syn grow still as the small creatures cautiously approached him. It was an impressive display of patience and trust, though her attention shifted quickly when he mentioned the reports.

"You haven't read them?"

There was no judgment in the question, only surprise. To Talia, possessing centuries of recorded observations and not immediately devouring every available report sounded almost impossible.

The mention of creatures brought to Ahch-To during different eras caught her attention even more. Her posture straightened slightly as she considered the implications. "That actually makes a lot of sense," she admitted. "Worlds with long histories tend to accumulate things. Species. Traditions. Mistakes." A faint smile tugged at her lips. "Archaeologists usually spend most of their careers untangling the consequences of people bringing things somewhere they probably shouldn't have."

The smile faded into thoughtful curiosity.

"Aquatic terentateks sound particularly concerning, though." Her gaze drifted toward the distant forests and cliffs beyond them. "Most people think of isolated worlds as untouched, but it sounds like Ahch-To has been shaped by generations of Jedi experimenting, relocating species, and leaving things behind." She folded her hands in her lap. "Which means the history of the planet is probably written just as much in its ecosystems as it is in its temples."

For a moment, she fell quiet, considering the image of ancient predators lurking in submerged caves beneath one of the most significant Force worlds in the galaxy.

"I suppose that's another lesson in patience," she said softly. "A world remembers everything people leave behind. Sometimes for thousands of years."

The blind jedi master looked at the woman and remained there as he spoke. The sash over his eyes as his voice came out. "No, I have not read them." He said it with a look at her while he was completely still with the force expanding outwards around him. He had a small chuckle though while holding a hand to the ground and one of the lizards was going on it. He could listen and allow the force to spread further and further along the planet as he felt the familiar presence of the temples and the jedi. Talia was here and asking questions that are quite insightfula nd good though he was curious. "But the world is also something that should be asking you what it can."

Talia stared at him for a long moment.

Then closed her eyes.

"...Of course you haven't."

The words escaped with all the quiet horror of someone realizing she had just asked a blind man whether he had read something. Heat rushed immediately to her cheeks as she pinched the bridge of her nose.

"I cannot believe I just asked you that."

She let out a soft, thoroughly embarrassed sigh before opening one eye to look at him again.

"I've spent so much time around archives that 'read' has apparently become synonymous with 'learn.'" A sheepish smile appeared despite herself. "Please pretend I asked whether you'd ever gone through the reports."

After a brief pause, she shook her head, laughing quietly at herself.

"Actually... don't pretend anything. I deserve that one."

The embarrassment gradually gave way to curiosity again, as it almost always did.

She settled back into the meditation space, glancing toward the lizard perched comfortably on his hand before considering his words.

"The world asking questions..." she repeated thoughtfully. "I don't think I've ever approached a place quite like that." Her gaze drifted toward the forest surrounding them. "Usually, I arrive with a list of things I want to understand. What happened here? Who built this? Why did they leave?" A small smile tugged at her lips. "Perhaps I've been doing too much talking and not enough listening."

Her attention returned to Syn.

"So... where do I begin listening?"

He let her join while he thought about how to answer it with a small look. "Listening to a world is to know it. From the skies to the depths of the oceans and deeper still into the planet. The jedi have spent centuries learning how to listen to the will of the living force and the worlds that they connect with will tell you a lot more. Below the surface, of this world where the caves weave and twist into chambers of molten rock and metal, down to the core of the world that formed. All of it being something that your mind can connect to and as you do you are able to draw and bring the force to your hands and forefront of your mind."

Talia settled into the meditation space, folding her legs beneath her as she let her gaze wander through the forest around them. She listened first to his words, then to everything beyond them. The wind moving through the leaves. The distant surf against the cliffs. The quiet rustling of creatures hidden among the undergrowth.

"So listening isn't simply hearing," she said thoughtfully. "It's learning to perceive a place as something alive."

She rested her hands loosely on her knees and closed her eyes for a moment, letting herself consider the world the way Syn described it. As an archaeologist, she had always studied what people left behind. Stones. Foundations. Artifacts. She had spent years reconstructing the lives of civilizations from the marks they left upon a landscape. What he described felt like approaching that same landscape from the opposite direction.

"I've always asked what happened here," she admitted quietly. "Who built this? Why they came. Why they left." A faint smile appeared. "You're asking me to listen for what the world remembers instead."

The idea fascinated her.

"If every mountain, river, and cavern is part of the Living Force..." Her eyes opened slowly, turning toward the forests beyond the clearing. "Then every world has its own story to tell. Not just through history, but through the life that's still here." She paused, letting the thought settle. "I've spent years reading ruins. Perhaps it's time I learned how to read a living world."

She drew a slow breath, allowing herself to become still.

"Then teach me where to begin."

A quiet smile touched Syn's features at her words not the practiced expression of a master offering approval, but something more genuine, more present. He shifted slightly where he sat, the movement causing the dried leaves beneath him to whisper against one another. The forest around them continued its low hum of life, and he let it fill the space between her question and his response. "Where to begin," he repeated, and the words carried no weight of repetition. They were simply an acknowledgment. He turned his face toward her, though his sightless eyes looked past her form entirely, focusing on something beyond the physical. "You already have. The moment you understood that a world remembers differently than a person does, you stepped into the threshold. The question now is not how to begin, but how to stay."

He reached down, his fingers finding the earth beneath the leaves. The movement was unhurried, deliberate. He pressed his palm flat against the soil and remained still for a long moment, letting the sensation travel up through his arm. "When I first came here, I did not hear the world. I heard myself. My questions. My longing to understand. It is a common trap." He paused, and when he continued, his voice had dropped lower, almost as if he were speaking more to himself than to her. "A world does not speak in words. It speaks in pressure. In resistance. In the way the wind moves differently through a valley than it does through a forest. To listen, you must first stop expecting to hear something you recognize."

Talia's stillness was good. He could feel it in the way the air around her had settled, less disturbed by movement or thought. He let the silence stretch, not as a test, but as an invitation. The forest breathed around them. Somewhere distant, a bird called once and then fell silent. The surf continued its patient rhythm against the cliffs. All of it present. All of it waiting. "Begin with your breath," he said finally. "Not because it is a technique, but because it is the most honest bridge between you and this place. When you inhale, the world enters you. When you exhale, you enter the world. Do not control it. Observe it. Feel how the air is different here than it was in the temple. Feel the weight of it. The moisture. The warmth that rises from the soil as the day deepens."

He drew his hand back from the earth, though his fingers remained open, as if holding something invisible. "When you have felt that, let your awareness follow your breath outward. Not toward the sky, not toward the distant sound of the sea. Downward. Beneath you. Into the root systems, where the oldest trees speak to one another through shared mycelium. Into the stone that remembers when this world was molten. Into the darkness where pressure becomes something ancient and patient."

The words came slowly, measured, each one placed with care. "You are an archaeologist. You know how to read layers. This is no different. The world's memory exists in layers. The surface is the youngest, filled with the noise of present life. Below that, the recent past. The older stories. The foundations upon which everything else was built. Your training has taught you to see these layers. Now you will learn to feel them." He fell silent again, letting the instruction settle. His presence remained steady, an anchor in the meditation space. After a time, he spoke once more, his voice barely above the rustle of leaves. "What do you feel beneath you, Talia? Not what do you imagine. Not what do you hope. What do you feel?"

Talia let his words settle rather than immediately searching for an answer. That instinct to respond, to analyze, to identify what she was supposed to feel rose almost at once. She recognized it for what it was and, with deliberate effort, let it drift away. If the world was not speaking in words, then there was little sense in questioning it with them.

She drew a slow breath, just as he had instructed. The air felt different here than anywhere else she had visited. Salt lingered faintly from the sea beyond the cliffs, carried inland by the breeze. Beneath it was damp earth, living wood, moss, and something older she couldn't quite name. Her shoulders relaxed as she exhaled, allowing herself to stop searching outward and instead sink into the place beneath her.

Her awareness followed the ground rather than the horizon. At first, there was only the firmness of the earth supporting her weight. Then came subtler impressions. Countless roots woven beneath the soil, stretching outward in every direction. Stone beneath them, immense and unmoving, carrying a quiet patience that seemed entirely unconcerned with the passing of years. It was not a voice, nor even a thought. More... a presence. Ancient. Enduring. Entirely content to simply be.

"I..." she began softly before stopping herself. There was a long pause before she tried again, choosing her words more carefully. "I don't feel memories." She frowned slightly, trying to avoid describing what she expected rather than what was there. "I feel... age." Another slow breath. "Not old as in decaying. Old as in... settled." Her brow furrowed as she searched for language that didn't quite exist. "Like standing beside someone who has lived so long that they no longer feel the need to speak unless there is something worth saying."

The realization surprised her enough that her eyes opened briefly before closing once more.

"It doesn't feel lonely." Her voice had become quieter still. "For all the life here... it feels... complete." She smiled faintly. "As though the world isn't waiting for anything. It simply... is."

She remained still for another few moments before finally looking toward Syn.

"I think..." she said with quiet wonder, "...this may be the first place I've ever visited where I don't feel compelled to ask it a question."

"Most things simply are, to listen, to hear without having to constantly question all of it allows the world to inform you." He said it but continued to remain in stillness for himself as his force senses expanded outwards further and further. Breathing in deeply and then expelling the energy so that she would be able to focus. He wrapped them in a bubble of force energy that was exploding and expanding with the wild force energies around them before is one hand came out and one of the lizards was on it. Even the branches of the trees were shifting while the force reacted to his movements and to his direction.

Talia remained perfectly still, resisting the familiar urge to fill the silence with another question. She could feel it rising anyway, the instinct to understand by asking, to take apart each new experience until she could see how it worked. Instead, she let the thought pass without following it.

The stillness around them became easier to notice once she stopped searching for something specific. The branches swayed overhead, not with purpose, but because the wind moved them. The little lizard perched calmly upon Syn's hand, utterly unconcerned with whether anyone was observing it. Even the strange swell of the Force surrounding them no longer felt like something demanding interpretation. It simply... existed.

"I think I understand," she said quietly, though there was no certainty in her voice, only discovery. "Not completely. But enough to know why I've struggled."

A faint smile crossed her face.

"I've spent so many years believing that understanding comes from taking things apart." Her hands rested lightly upon her knees. "Ruins. Artifacts. Histories. Every answer seemed to reveal itself if I asked enough questions." She drew another slow breath, allowing it to leave her without altering its rhythm. "But this place doesn't seem interested in being solved."

Her awareness settled once more into the earth beneath her.

"It isn't withholding anything." The realization came almost as a surprise. "It's simply waiting for me to stop treating it like a puzzle." She smiled to herself, finding the irony almost amusing. "For perhaps the first time in my life... I think I'm learning that not every mystery is meant to be unraveled. Some are meant to be experienced."

He continued to look at her in the force and remained still there in the center of the island. Letting the force flow through his body as he extended it. "Not everything is a puzzle to solve, it is something you learn with age, something that comes with training. You learn to use it and what there is. For the higher mysteries... There are still plenty of things that are able to be solved." He said it though while breathing in and outwards with the force itself. Letting the miri crawl as he held his hand out so that one would be able to go to her. "It is a small thing but learning how best to feel and understand the force."

Talia watched the tiny miri crawl onto Syn's outstretched hand before extending one of her own. She made no sudden movement, allowing the small creature to decide for itself whether it wished to cross the space between them.

"I think that's what has surprised me the most," she said quietly. "I've spent years believing that every mystery exists to be solved. If I gathered enough evidence, asked enough questions, eventually there would be an answer waiting."

Her eyes followed the little creature as it cautiously explored.

"But the Force doesn't seem to resent questions." A thoughtful smile crossed her face. "It simply doesn't hurry to answer them." She let the observation linger for a moment. "Perhaps that has been my mistake. I've been asking on my timetable instead of its own."

When the miri finally stepped onto her hand, she remained perfectly still. It was lighter than she expected, its tiny feet barely perceptible against her skin.

"I don't think I could have done this yesterday," she admitted softly. "I would have reached for it too quickly, wanting to examine it, understand it." She smiled faintly as the creature continued its slow journey across her fingers. "Instead... I'm content just letting it be what it is."

Her gaze lifted back toward Syn.

"I don't think I'll ever stop asking questions." There was quiet certainty in her voice now. "It's part of who I am." A small laugh followed. "But perhaps I'm beginning to learn that some questions don't need immediate answers." She looked back to the miri resting comfortably in her palm. "Sometimes... the answer is simply to be present long enough that it chooses to reveal itself."

"No one is asking you to stop asking questions or seeking answers. That is the opposite, this allows for much to be seen and learned without having to ask. The force guides more then enough to those who allow themselves to feel it." He said it when he finally moved from his spot and rose up in a smooth motion, letting his form be able to move silently until he stood up and above Talia. "Close your eyes and clear your mind. No questions, just action, no thoughts just reaction. ALlow the force to guide your movement and feel the flow of it going into you from everything around you. THe air, the land, the moisture from the oceans in the water."

Talia inclined her head without hesitation.

"Yes, Master."

There was no embarrassment in the title now, nor uncertainty. Only respect. She had asked him to teach her, and he was doing precisely that. The least she could do was trust the lesson, even when every instinct urged her to analyze it before experiencing it.

She closed her eyes, and immediately questions tried to intrude. *Am I doing this correctly? What am I supposed to feel? How will I know if...*but she let them pass, not dismissed, simply allowed to continue without following them, as a slow breath filled her lungs.

The air was cool against her skin, carrying the scent of salt and living forest. Moisture clung faintly to it, while the warmth rising from the island beneath her feet contrasted gently against the ocean breeze. She became aware of each sensation without assigning it meaning, resisting the temptation to dissect it.

For perhaps the first time in her life, she wasn't trying to understand. She was simply allowing herself to experience.

Her breathing settled into an easy rhythm, and with each inhale, she felt herself become a little less separate from the island around her. The rustling leaves, the distant surf, the living earth beneath her feet, even the quiet presence of the tiny creatures nearby all seemed to exist without demanding explanation.

She remained still, trusting the Force to speak in whatever way it chose.

SHe didn't speak for it but he could sense she was going to while he moved. his footfalls silent and he didn't make a sound with the moment. "Better, breathe in the force with the air to your lungs. Allow it to go through your body, through the muscle and sinew down into the bones and stretch outwards until it is at the tips of your fingers and toes. From there exhale the force with your breath and contract it through your body. Then breathe in again and allow it to expand further until you are reaching into and connecting with the world itself. To feel the waters, the roots and the creatures in the dirt that move around."

Talia gave a small nod, though her eyes remained closed. She resisted the impulse to ask another question, trusting that the understanding would come through the experience itself rather than another explanation.

A slow breath filled her lungs.

This time she paid attention not only to the air entering her body, but to the subtle current of the Force that seemed to accompany it. It wasn't something she pulled toward herself. Instead, it felt as though she was simply becoming aware of something that had always been there. She followed Syn's instruction, imagining it flowing through every part of her body until the awareness reached the tips of her fingers and toes before gently receding again with her exhale.

Again she breathed in.

Her awareness expanded beyond herself, no longer stopping at the boundaries of her own body. She sensed the cool moisture carried on the ocean breeze, the warmth stored within the earth beneath her, and faint impressions of life moving unseen below the surface. Tiny creatures burrowed through the soil. Roots stretched silently through the ground, intertwined in ways she could never have imagined simply by looking.

A faint smile appeared.

"It feels..." she began softly, searching for words that seemed almost inadequate. "...less like reaching outward and more like realizing I was never separate from it to begin with." She remained still, allowing the sensation to linger. "I can understand now why you said the world doesn't need to answer questions. It was already speaking."

He only had a small smirk on his face, tight lipped and knife edge thin but it was there when he was listening to her in the force and as she was comign to realize what was happening. He held out one hand and only crouched enough so that he could guide her. "Keep your eyes closed, allow the force to guide your sight and rise." He said it and used one hand to be if she needed it a steady moment, and then she would be able to rise up and move with him as more of the miri was coming around. They lit up a little but were more watching and seeing what wa happening as Syn was moving to guide. "Just move aand allow the force to guide you through the grove."

Talia nodded once, though her eyes remained closed. Every instinct urged her to peek, to verify where she was stepping before trusting the unseen. She let the impulse pass. That, she suspected, was precisely the lesson.

"Yes, Master," she answered quietly.

Drawing another slow breath, she allowed the Force to settle around her instead of reaching for it. The world no longer felt empty behind closed eyes. It was alive with gentle impressions. The warmth of the morning sun against one side of her face. The cool shade cast by the trees. The subtle pulse of roots beneath the earth and the tiny movements of creatures she would never have noticed before.

Carefully, she accepted the offered hand only long enough to find her balance before letting it fall away again. One cautious step became another. She wasn't walking by memory or confidence, but by trust. The Force seemed to nudge rather than command, gently guiding each footfall through the grove.

"I... think I understand," she murmured as a faint smile appeared. "I'm not searching for the path anymore." Another measured step carried her forward. "I'm letting the path find me."

He only gave a nod while he was moving and taking her along the small pathway that wove through and around the grove. Letting her be able to walk and slowly find her path through it. He only moved around her while making sure she avoided the trees and then didn't step on the more curious miri. The path going up into a small pool as he didn't stop just moved on thicker lily pads for a moment. "You are approaching water, be careful with it but there is a small clump of Ashla's root here." He said it and was curious while he was crouching on the lily pad but he used it to move around the small pool as it fed out into the ocean and into the trees below.

Talia inclined her head in acknowledgment, her eyes never opening. The warning was enough. She didn't need to see the water to know it was there. She could hear its gentle movement now, smell the freshness rising from its surface, and feel the subtle shift in the air as she drew closer.

"Yes, Master," she replied softly.

Her next step was slower, more deliberate. Rather than searching with her eyes, she let the Force guide her footing. It wasn't certainty she felt, but quiet confidence, as though each step presented itself only when it needed to. She sensed the living pads beneath her feet, the cool presence of the pool beside them, and the faint pulse of the roots Syn had mentioned reaching down into the water below.

"The water feels..." she murmured, pausing as she searched for the right words. "...connected. Not separate from the grove, but part of the same conversation." A small smile found her lips as she continued carefully after him. "I think I'm beginning to understand what you meant. The world isn't made of separate things. It's all... one living whole."
