The iconic Redworth “Quartered Ball” insignia overlayed onto a red and cream backdrop. This flag denotes Redworth-owned buildings, and is flown at company events.
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To serve as an alternative and counterpoint to the Bounty Hunters Guild, which will influence events in a number of my stories.
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Bounty Hunters Guild
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Redworth Investigation Agency
  • Classification: Private Enforcement Company
  • Affiliation: Various
  • Organization Symbol: A red circle divided into 4 pieces diagonally. Known as the “Quartered Ball”.
  • Description: Redworth Investigation Agency is basically the Bounty Hunter’s Guild for “upstanding” people. It operates a vast bureaucracy of investigators, operators, and secretaries; dedicated to obtaining information, making threats, and beating the ever-loving chit out of those who do not believe the threats. The Agency has contracts with many local governments to act with authority far higher than it deserves, and uses extreme methods that have earned both enthusiastic fans and furious detractors.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: The Belltower, a large space station orbiting Morlana One.
  • Domain: Most of the Known Galaxy, except for the territory of the Galactic Alliance and the Rimward Trade League.
  • Notable Assets: Redworth Investigation Agency owns local outposts and safehouses on many inhabited planets. It also has contracts with a number of governments which allow it to operate at least on an equal level to actual law enforcement.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: The Agency’s hierarchy is constantly shifting and changing, as old positions are retired, and new ones are created. In fact, it can sometimes be hard for investigators to know what outranks what. The one thing that does stay constant is that the CEO is on top.
  • Membership: Prospective employees are screened through an extensive background check and thoroughly interviewed before being hired. This is more to filter out potential infiltrators than to ensure that scrupulous people are hired. The vast majority of investigators are human males, thanks to the Agency’s often xenophobic and chauvinistic recruiters, and a lack of interest from aliens of joining. There are around 7 million Redworth employees active across the Galaxy.
  • Climate: The internal climate at the Agency is competitive and unforgiving. Bosses are always on a last name only basis with employees, workplace rivalries are common, chauvinism and xenophobia run rampant, and culture is overall toxic against perceived weakness.
  • Reputation: The Agency is very divisive. Some people say it is the best thing to happen to the Galaxy since the end of the Gulag Plague, while others think that the Agency is worse than the Galactic Empire was. These two camps tend to argue quite frequently, and not always peaceably.
  • Curios: Redworth Badges, which bear the Quartered Ball logo over a bundle of arrows.
  • Rules: The only real rules for investigators to follow are
    1. Get the job done discreetly.
    2. Remember that the Agency is watching.
  • Goals:
    • Make money.
    • Keep the rich rich and the poor poor.
MEMBERS
  • Drixico Redworth: CEO and founder. A ruthless capitalist who believes that money justifies any action.
  • Unoz Frawkon: An investigator hired by Wendell Mortimer Glolmark Wendell Mortimer Glolmark to preemptively stop unionization attempts in his corporation.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Redworth Investigation Agency was founded by Drixico Redworth roughly twenty years ago. Since then, it has expanded greatly to cover large swathes of the Known Galaxy. However, it was banned from operating in the Galactic Alliance and Rimward Trade League after Redworth-hired security guards opened fire on a crowd of peaceful protesters protesting cut work salaries on a live holobroadcast. Despite this, the Agency is still frequently employed by rich people who want to spy on their neighbors, loan sharks who need enforcers, and business owners who need a troublesome employee to end up with a black eye.
