Red Alert 2: Wargames

Ayumi Pallopides

Heir to the Emperor, Former Senator of Denon
[member="Aedan Miles"] & Mystery partner [member="Suravi Teigra"] & [member="Alexander Sannes"]

Denon was safe and secured, [member="Reshmar"] was working on some of the things to really make things secure before the senator stood there on the bridge of the ship. The prototype was massive, designed for a purpose and here on Denon there was a whole lot of manufacturing possibilities. Give other recent events they were trying to work on some of the larger and stronger things... So something to take their minds off the problems at least for a little while and provide some entertainment. That was what these wargames were used for before when they competed and could be used for again.

"All combatants should be ready and entering the operations field, select your teams and which side you wish to be on and begin when ready." Ayumi stood at the ready wearing the light weight form fitted armor under the slightly modified duster. High collar just under her chin, sleeves and trail down to the boots. It looked more like a regular coat instead of something you would wear for protection from force attacks. With her long hair behind her shoulders and the circlet for protection from environmental effects it gave the senator a collected and professional look that obscured the toolkit in her sleeves.

"Republic forces will be protecting the production facilities that are live with some support equipment. Their droids for defense are at your disposal and using practice rounds, the drydocks are contructing a next gen factory ship three times the size of the ones we made originally. Usable for making more munitions at the moment to reload your fighters, full armor has been opened as well as some of the new stocks for testing purposes. We have brought our new skyfall transports for the ground operations and presented a couple of each version with different weapons. Titan war droids have been brought out as well."

"For the invaders we have gotten an old pirate who knows how to raid to really work out the kinks of it all and give you a challenge. His skills at the battle of metalorn and Dagobah are well known from his early years with his team." Aedan well he knew how to do things and the ones attacking as it were they were meant to work on things to teach the others how to attack and defend over just building things up and working at it. She was standing in the massive observation dome of the Harlequin class ship able to see plenty of the operation area. "May the force be with you all for this."

The Rules:

Objectives are purposely vague to allow you to make it as detailed or as complicated as you wish
Republic manifest/armory and whatever you have access to (company/personal) is available to you within reason
Fleets are limited to a maximum of 8km

Space Objective:

Aedan Miles sat in one of the various modified Facade-class they had used to simulate a possible way for a infiltration team to get on planet. In this star port were two such ships spread around the city and its other ports rested more of them each of them packed with the Red Fang and members of Clan Akaata. On the bridge was a tactical count down that was slowly counting down the game had started long ago his opponents probably expected some form of drop pod rain or something from a fleet over head but Aedan had a new trick. His force was already on the ground and ready to go they were merely waiting for the enemy force to get uneasy. Their weapons had been modifed to not kill but stun or in some cases splatter pain across the enemy to simulate damage dealt. As the count down hit zero across the ports smoke would start to issue forth from the Facade-class emptying into the ports to shield from those who could see where his forces would appear from. As the smoke finally filled the port the pods would open dropping slowly to the ground and ramps lowering so the men could disembark quickly running off of it quietly as they moved towards the exits of the port and the city proper. Raising his hand Aedan made a gesture and from the third of the Facade-class vehicles started to issue forth mostly tanks but mixed in were walkers and a few men in exoskeletons. Finally he made their presence known as one of his men hacked the cities PA system and a song blared from the city wide PA system smirking Aedan leaned back and waited watching the holoboard before him as his forces dug into their primary positions in the ports.

Alexander crossed his fingers as he looked over the map before him. Simple yet elegant, that was how he would treat their little gamble today. He was a bit more relaxed than normal due to the fact of these wargames of theirs being games, but there did remain the fact that things could translate to real life later in their lives. As such, be it as it were Alexander would treat this as if every man's life was on the line. He wasn't sure if the man he was to come up against would do the same, but if he did not, he would lose.
Alexander could only wait though. Only wait for the certain enemy of his to show his face.

Ali checked her weapon, making sure the training rounds were properly fitted into the adapter she'd installed in the chamber. It checked out with a click and she left the Verpine rifle to hang from its clip on her shoulder plate. "Alright folks," she called to the gathering of soldiers before her. They were arrayed all over the small glade, some resting against the thickly armored legs of MAT-TE walkers, more simply standing amongst the grass. The city rose to great heights all around them, giving a plentiful view of the terrain they would be operating in for the duration of the training exercise. Urban environments were nothing new to CSAF, they'd operated on several ecumenopoli over the last year alone. "Our mission is to defend the facilities providing the planet's defenses. We'll be using the walkers to hold a defense perimeter around the facility while our Commandos exercise strength in the surrounding area outside. We've got recce and sniper locations marked on your HUDs, so you should know where you're going."
"Yeah, nowhere." Someone called from nearby. Others around them laughed, and Ali chuckled. "Yes, nowhere. Once you're in position, verify with your highers, like usual. You'll be notified when the operation officially begins. Our mission is simple: Defend the facility. We'll be expecting an air presence by our adversaries, so anti-air operations have already been coordinated with Republic forces. You know your call signs for casevac and air support, make sure you use them. Part of your evaluation will focus on not just how you handle yourselves in combat, but how you deal with unexpected changes to the battlespace and force strength. We are not taking part in the space battle, so you don't have to worry about a brief from Naval. Larties are on standby to provide air support, and Tee-Seventies are in the area to fend off enemy air. Make sure you stick to your MAT-TE's; they're providing the bulk of our fire support and they won't have much in the way of mobility because of that. You serve them, not the other way around." After fielding a handful of questions regarding contingencies, Ali clapped her hands together. "Alright, get moving. May the Force be with you."

It took no more than an hour to get all of their forces in place. The MAT-TE walkers shifted into position outside the facility, creating a cordon around it. The facility itself was rather large, roughly 4 square kilometers, and five levels tall. The planet's defenses were housed inside, encompassing a plethora of technologies. Victory would come to the attackers if they managed to breach the facility and gain control of the various areas. These included a shield center, communications chamber, and an automated weapons bank. The attackers need only enter the three areas and eliminate the defending commandos to secure a chamber.

Around the facility, CSAF had erected fighting positions, and placed mock traps and explosives throughout the streets surrounding the cordon. CSAF commandos had pushed roughly half a klick out into the city around the facility to form an outer cordon, and Commando platoons were on patrol in the streets outside that 1/2 kilometer range. Five platoons patrolled at any given time in column formations, arrayed on both sides of each road they patrolled. Sniper teams kept watch from rooftops and inside buildings beyond, giving fair warning to defending forces of approaching enemies. Anti-air craft weapons were arrayed at the four corners of the facility property, within the defensive lines. Automated anti-personnel turrets were spread out between these AA positions. 1st Battalion was handling the primary defense, with gun teams and fighting positions located all around the facility.

The facility itself had three entrances, two on the North and South sides of the property for personnel, and a utility entrance located on the West side for vehicles. A total of 8 MAT-TE's were arrayed around the property, with intersecting fields of fire. They were not equipped with training rounds, but instead loaded with laser munitions that would mark enemy vehicles and personnel as "Hit" if fired upon. Countermeasures were in use and would relay feedback data to attackers, alerting them to the success or failure of their attacks with simulated munitions. The key point was safety, and so the only physical rounds that would be used were the training munitions given to footsoldiers for small arms fire. When struck, these rounds would set off alerts on the target's worn equipment, letting them know they'd been hit, and the extent of the damage done.
