Mount Kalzon Mining Station
Skako Minor ; Galactic Alliance Territory

There was one thing that Senator Laborr could not tolerate under any circumstances and that was the means of production being halted. The Rodian Foreman at the Mount Kalzon Mining Station had contacted him rather hastily in apparent hysteria. It would seem that there was an infestation of some kind within the facility and that the creatures had taken several of his assets or workers in more common tongue hostage within the eastern end of the structure.

He had considered sending in his mobilized droid forces to deal with the problem but the possibility of damaging his facility in an all out engagement with the creatures was considered illogical in his mind. However there were a single group of individuals within the Galactic Alliance who could handle the problem in a much more subtle fashion and would not leak to his corporate competitors about his production problems. The New Jedi Order, was the sword of the alliance while the Defense Force was the shield. Each worked in harmony most of the time and they had proven themselves capable.

Senator Laborr had looked through the list provided by his skakoan aides of jedi to summon to Skako Minor. Ending up choosing one Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble who looked capable enough and would be easy to hide the body if they died. A win-win situation within his personal playbook.

He decided to contact him and explain his situation, that hostages had been taken and he requested immediate assistance whenever the jedi was available.

Creatures taking people hostage. It wasn't a common thing to hear about, especially since the reports on these creatures seemed to be they were non sentient. Perhaps semi? Taking actual hostages though, that was interesting. Kahlil hummed as he read through the file, a calm smile as ever on his face. The shuttle was inbound for the station itself. Hostages meant no time to waste. He glanced towards his Padawan, just watching Rhemti for a moment.

"Ready?"

Not that he had time to answer. The holodevice in the middle of the shuttle clicked on. He stood, adjusting his jacket before standing before it.

"Senator. We'll be landing shortly. Any further information you can provide would be appreciated."

Senator Laborr was already at the Mining Station surveying for damages when the transmissions from Jedi Master Kahili Noble came through the Skako Minor Towers. Having one of his skakoan aides hold up the holo communication device so that he may converse freely.

"Information is hard to come by, Master Noble. But what I can inform you is that a large swarm of creatures have taken 12 of my assets hostage within the eastern portion of the facility." He explained with cruel vigor referring to the hostages as mere assets. "According to eye witness reports from the Rodian Foreman and the workers that escaped. The creatures are considerably weak by themselves but stronger in a group setting." Laborr said looking over to the workers who had gathered outside the facility as his droid taskmasters made them begin repairing some of the facility they had damaged in their mad scramble to escape.

After all this was still on his company time, and he wasn't going to allow them to take breaks simply due to a monster attack.

Rhemti had just barely opened his mouth to respond when the holo-communication device came to life. He listened to the vague and uncaring explanation, barely managing to keep his expression calm as something in the Senators tone made him feel as if his blood was starting to boil. The Nautolan Padawan stayed silent off to the side of Kahlil, deciding it would be best to wait until after the communication ended to ask questions about the mission.

He hadn't heard of any creatures taking other creatures hostage before, maybe some creatures that trapped prey and somehow preserved them for later, but the victims weren't alive for long. Were the workers still alive? Better question; the Senator phrased it as if they were still alive, so how did he know? Was there some sort of surveillance system in the eastern side of the facility? And what sort of creatures took other creatures hostage? Had this incident just taken place or had the creatures been doing this for a while?

Rhem tried not to get distracted by his own thoughts, but unfortunately was pinching his own chin and staring off into the distance, going over all the information that they currently had in his had.

"Any security feeds or live reports from those within would be appreciated. Anyone with a com, who may or may not be held hostage at the moment. Otherwise, we'll be in there shortly and we'll get your people out."

How Rhemti was feeling wasn't lost on him. He cast a glance to the Padawan, briefly, before glancing again to the hologram with the ever patient smile. Kahlil felt the same, though he wasn't going to show such feelings now. Too many people were in danger for it.

Senator Laborr had to move away from the reconstruction efforts occuring on the exterior of the facility due to the noise disturbance. Glancing at the hologram as the Jedi Master was much more interested in asking him questions than getting the job accomplished.

The more time that the facility was unoperational, the more his profit margins would continue to shrink. Of course he did have several additional facilities producing the same exact material as this one. But it was simply a tragedy that his workers could not carry on breaking their backs for him in mostly unsafe conditions. They had after signed a waiver that he would not be responsible for any death or injury on the job.

"If I wanted to be ask questions, I would have called the Alliance Marshals. Your job..Master Jedi is to save my assets and nothing more." Laborr said with a slight hint of annoyance within his normal monotone voice. The time asking questions could be better spent saving his workers from the creatures inside. It mattered very little to him if they were dead or alive as long as the facility was restarted in the end.

"Arrive promptly!" He further added closing the transmissions.

Rhemti waited a solid five or so beats after the communication was ended to look at his Master, frowning ever so slightly. ".... I don't like him." His tone was so flat, no goofball grin, just a frown across his two-toned features. That didn't matter though, his opinion, and he knew it; all he cared about was saving the hostages if possible. Who knows, their mission might go smoothly if the Senator had been willing to work with them and answer questions.

"How much longer till we land, Boss?" He kept his seriousness, arms crossed over his chest, the previous annoyance at the Senators attitude replaced with the determination to complete the mission.

Kahlil kept a calm smile throughout, even as the hologram was clicked off and the two Jedi were left in silence. He didn't move, just seemed to be waiting for something. It was Rhemti speaking up that seemed to pull him out of whatever daze he might have been in. Which just had him reach out to pat the top of the Nautolan's head. "I don't either." He cracked a grin. Even if Rhemti wasn't in a mood to be joking around as always, Kahlil wasn't going to let the Senator put them in a darker place.

Jedi needed to be the ones to keep the mood light. Literally, sometimes.

"Couple minutes or so. Double check your gear. We're staying together this time, so be ready for a fight. If they really do swarm, we're going to need to be pretty careful to make sure we have places to move freely, alright?"

The landing platform to the Mining Facility was in rather sorry state with overgrown planets covering the interior. But it would provide an adequate dockyard for the Jedi Pair to land their shuttlecraft.

Once one got close enough to the facility, they would spot the clearly overworked laborers rebuilding brick by brick underneath the ever watchful gaze of droid overseers and skakoan officials. Although there was little they could do to complain since they had signed a full legal contract with the Trade Federation in exchange for permanent employment and job security.

Senator Laborr could be seen glancing over the work being done surrounded by legal deputies and skakoan aides. He made sure to file the proper paperwork with the Galactic Alliance in order to insure that he was not legally responsible for any deaths or misconduct.

Moving down the hill as the pair no doubt approached.

"Took you long enough. Time is money." Laborr said with a hand gesture towards them. Their slowness was going to cost him hundreds in lost revenue.

Rhemti was ready for this mission, as ready as he could be. He was not ready for the Senators continuously poor attitude. The Nautolan kept his expression calm as Senator Laborr spoke, forcing a reassuring smile to his face.

"Apologies, Senator." The Padawan spoke up, bowing his head slightly towards him. "But if we're to recover your assets successfully, and with as few problems as possible, then we need time to prepare so as to make this recovery mission as cost effective as possible." He hated every word out of his mouth, but he felt he had no choice, not if he and Kahlil wanted to save those workers.

Oh.

Oh dear. Kahlil kept his eyes forward, but to think that this was a work environment that the Alliance allowed on it's worlds was.. Not right, to say the least. It'd be another thing he'd talk to Alicio Organa Alicio Organa about, when the chance could arise. For now, though, there were lives on the line. And upsetting this senator could potentially jeopardize them. For the first time, he actually found himself bound by law.

Not for long, if he had anything to say about it.

At least Rhemti seemed to understand the importance of diplomacy, without his input no less.

".. Yes, so please. Give us the information we need so we may start right away."
